3 Ancient Treasures Have Been Found In Oak Island & Now Something Terrifying Is Happening

Having discovered the location of a secret tunnel and finding gold, the Lega brothers are on a winning streak and have once again accomplished something humans would have never deemed possible to accomplish 500 years ago.
In the coming months, they begin what might be the most significant excavation in Oak Island’s money pit. Join us as we explore the 250-year-old tunnel that has just been discovered at the Oak Island Money Pit — the hidden tunnel.
The mysteries of Oak Island continue to deepen as interesting discoveries shed more light on the island’s mysterious past. Over time, the Lega brothers and their team have taken us on tour escapades in Oak Island out of curiosity. And perhaps someday they will hit gold.
Armed with specialists, groundbreaking tools, and techniques, they set out on another adventure. In what might be their biggest excavation yet, metal detecting specialist Gary Drayton astounds with several quick-fire finds.
Like past finds of ancient pottery, mysterious coins, remains of wooden platforms, aged documents, and cryptic codes, these discoveries have always hinted at a bigger story.
His first find was a signal within a wall, closely analyzing it for booby traps and finding none. This secret vault unlocks a huge caster wheel buried deep beneath the ground.
This find raises speculations about how it got there and its possible link to past tunneling operations, as Gary guesses it belonged to a trolley you would need if you were running along tunnels. His suggestion further supports previous findings of tunneling equipment on the island with proof of a concealed tunnel — begging the question of how people in the 15th century constructed such complex underground structures.
Did it belong to the early men or hunters just as themselves? The crew plans on exploring all the possibilities and giving answers to these questions in further research with an impressive team of geoscientists: Dr. Ian Spooner, archaeologist Dr. Aaron Taylor, and Miriam Amiralt.
They search for stone pavements that might lead them to a concealed basement trace anywhere close to the east border of the swamp.
King Charles II Britannia Coins
The discovery doesn’t end at the caster wheel. Still cruising on their treasure-hunting quest along the coastline of Oak Island, Gary Drayton, followed by his crew and Rick Legina, the leader of the Oak Island team, make another hit — a double discovery this time, hidden beneath the rocks and pirate flags standing guard across the shoreline.
Two King Charles II Britannia coins that date back to the 17th century. This gives credibility to how long this treasure has been hidden, predicted for centuries after seeing the clear imprint of 1771.
This sparked questions about where this set of 17th-century coins came from. Could it be that people frantically searching for buried riches found it and, in their hurry, dropped this set from their find?
As the mysteries of Oak Island are endless, so are the possibilities. In line with this is another theory that gives an entirely different narrative — a possibility of the find being a part of valuable, immeasurable possessions intentionally hidden by a very rich and secretive group intent on safeguarding their wealth on this mysterious island.
So far, Gary Drayton in his metal detecting expedition has found two impressive yet intriguing discoveries that seem an enigma until all related questions are answered. And the possibilities of this are endless as to what can be found as they delve deeper.
Button of a 17th Century Military Officer
Along the path of his initial find located in the general area of Oak Island’s coastline, he came across a button belonging to the uniform of a 17th-century military officer that implies that armed men might have once seen to the safety of the island or stopped by the island on their journey.
But also fueling speculation is the theory that Oak Island had a secret program and the military were employed to keep it a secret.
However small or wild, these discoveries and speculations hint at a part of something humongous waiting to be discovered.
Maravedi from the 17th Century
That same day, Drayton and his team went into a nearby close area. At this location, they found a rather small coin deep-seated in the earth that is believed to precede the discovery of the money pit.
This discovery creates a new path for the team to head to the money pit as the coin is believed to be another Maravedi from the 17th century similar to the one discovered in the previous season’s conclusion.
However, this newly found coin was a different size, notably smaller than the eight recognized in the prior discovery, equating this new find to two Maravedis. This gives credence to the potential of hidden treasures in Oak Island.
Mystery of the Money Pit
The discovery of the money pit dates back to the late 18th century when carefree young boys found a hole in the ground right by an oak tree with a tackle block hanging over it. Their curious minds went into search, digging more into the hole.
Their quest resulted in no fortune as they found nothing. But soon enough, rumors of a hole with hidden treasures spread far and wide.
These rumors soon caught the attention of treasure hunters and enthusiasts who were interested in the supposed treasures hidden beneath. As they dug, they hit wooden blocks, rows of stones, and even booby traps.
It was as though someone wanted to protect whatever was down there and put in place everything possible to keep it a secret at whatever cost.
However, the mysticism that blankets this pit and rumors of hidden treasures keep searchers determined to uncover what is there. And over centuries, multiple groups who have gone on this quest have struggled with flooding and other challenges in excavating the money pit.
Years later in 1803, those young boys returned as a larger group — a guild of stakeholders recognized as the Enslow Company — and launched the first well-structured digging up of the money pit, which conclusively gave it its name.
But their effort was brought to an abrupt stop before they reached the dug-up pit’s bottom due to flooding, making the expedition unsuccessful.
Undeterred, several groups set out to unveil the island’s mysteries years later but faced many challenges and obstacles that thwarted their progress and minimized their achievement.
Is it far-fetched to assume that these leads are misleading? That they were carefully and deliberately kept by the secret program to be found later with the intent of safeguarding their hidden treasures on the island?
It is fascinating that the pit is intricately furnished with assorted systems to trigger flooding — and it’s been very successful. It has effectively foiled any attempts to reach the hidden riches in its coffers.
The engineering capabilities required to build such elaborate flooded passageways centuries ago were awe-inspiring. And after careful investigations of the invaluable clues left by previous hunters, technology such as we have was improved on.
Armed, determined treasure hunters will continue on this path as each discovery reaffirms the conviction of hidden riches below.
Wooden Tunnel Found
Further investigations into the money pit have identified significant levels of silver and gold within range of the money pit, arousing usual assumptions of the actual location of the money pit.
Recently, the team made amazing discoveries in the C1 cluster, unveiling signs of wooden tunnels that could be traced back to the 15th century.
This discovery of a tunnel in the otherwise complex structures could lead the team right to the door of the hidden treasure chamber.
Forefront in our minds is the level of education and skills people in the 15th century must have possessed to have constructed such wooden tunnels and the significance these passageways serve.
With the B4C shaft placed in the money pit positioned just 5 ft north of Borehole Cadil, advancing towards a depth of around 90 ft, this is further taken as a significant clue that they might be fast approaching the original money pit itself.
Along with all of these clues is the discovery of gold in the water, building excitement within the team. And as they dig even deeper, they anticipate that soon there will be a hit, revealing all speculated hidden treasures.
Digging even deeper, they come across dispersed scraps of wood, raising speculations about the tunnels and all it represents. Was it built to protect valuable treasures or used for smuggling or hiding secrets?
It remains a carefully placed underground web, and the questions will be answered only by finding where the tunnel leads.
Another interesting find is in the middle of the several discoveries — a handcrafted spike. This large iron fastener is believed to date back to before the discovery of the money pit, pointing to the historical significance of this object.
Plans are in motion to do a thorough analysis of its crude appearance, use of hand-forged raw iron in its production, and the signs of aging to provide valuable insights into the history of Oak Island.
Setbacks
The team is set back when they reach the bottom at a depth of approximately 130 ft in the B4C shaft, halting further excavations in the money pit area for the year.
All evidence collected and documented from the five massive steel shafts confirms the belief that the slippery treasure sought for over two centuries still lies underground on the mysterious Oak Island.
Scientific evidence indicates significant quantities of gold and silver lie beneath the Earth’s surface in the money pit haven.
Openly admitting the expedition’s challenges, the team emphasizes the need for more advanced machines to keep the expedition moving forward.
As they continue on this expedition path, searching for the ultimate treasure, every newly dug hole and discovery provides important clues. As the team continues to dig holes and make discoveries, they are gaining valuable insight into their ongoing quest, and they remain optimistic about the progress they have been making.
As the researchers expand their knowledge of the tunnel, it’s been confirmed that it has definitive elevations. The hand-forged spike also adds to their understanding.
C-14 testing will enable the team to understand better the hand-crafted spike found in the pit as they study it more.
This long-aged tool is similar to those used in medieval times to drill rocks, rousing up exciting ideas about where the money pit came from and the hidden treasure it might contain.
The possibility of finding a tool for drilling holes, perhaps used in the digging process and construction of the money pit, has made the team’s excitement hit a peak.
However, they tread more carefully now as this artifact gives further evidence that they are so close to the fabled treasure.
The thought of finally finding the hidden tunnel and exploring a secret space or room becomes even more thrilling as they try to piece together the puzzles connected to their recent findings all over Oak Island, including the stone pathway in the swamp and an old stone road.
What Lies Beneath the Money Pit?
What’s next for the Lega team? The powerful and spirited pair, Rick and Marty Legina, have come a long way from Rick reading an article in Reader’s Digest at age 11 detailing Oak Island’s fabled hidden treasures, wooden structures, and intricately set traps.
Enraptured by this captivating tale, it fueled his resolve to explore the lands and find all that can be uncovered.
It sparked a determination to explore the island in the future and is now taking center stage in the popular History Channel reality show The Curse of Oak Island.
The series takes you along on the quest for hidden treasure on the massive, mystic 140-acre Oak Island off the coast of Nova Scotia, Canada.
Having nothing but the strong belief in the presence of gold on Oak Island based on findings and discoveries so far strengthening their belief, the team remains determined to find the treasure in the money pit.
They express gratitude for the steadfast backing of their diligent team and viewers who have continued with them on their quest.
The team’s unwavering commitment and Charles and Billy’s steadfast support have revealed that Oak Island’s mystery is beyond our wildest dreams.
Reminiscing on the journey while digging into the money pit, they have dug up a substantial amount of silver and gold at a depth of 90 ft, which makes them believe they may have finally found the original money pit’s location — and if not, could have found a tunnel leading right to the treasured chamber.
While having no illusions about the challenges ahead, they are aware that Oak Island will not easily surrender its treasures.
Considering the sophisticated flooding mechanism in the money pit — an ingenious system that has dashed treasure hunters’ hopes and curtailed their progress over time — prior failures have strengthened the team’s resolve, building on the successes and failures of past teams.
Despite hitting rock bottom at 130 ft in the B4C shaft, they plan to overcome every challenge by employing ingenious tools.
The discovery of gold and silver underground fuels their hope. And each discovery, ranging from scattered wood to very old iron fasteners, brings them even closer to their goal.
While pursuing this quest transcends the mere accumulation of treasures, it satiates the curiosity of those who set out on this journey in the first place about the island’s mysteries and hidden history.
