'NEXT LEVEL' American Pickers’ Mike Wolfe shares pics of $1m Nashville home renovation as he reveals final plans including new porch

AMERICAN Pickers star Mike Wolfe may not be leaving the History Channel series that made him a household name, but he’s officially started a new gig.

On July 15, Mike revealed that he’s kicked off his latest renovation project, restoring the old farmhouse he calls home.

Mike Wolfe posted a series of photos on his Instagram showcasing his plans for the renovation, alongside snaps of the work already being done on the home.

“Today the journey begins on my old farm house,” he captioned the post, sharing the news with his 508,000 followers.

Mike has spent decades traveling across America, scoping out artifacts, antiques, and national treasures among junkyards, flea markets, and resale shops, but he’s also been working on expanding his growing real estate portfolio.

“I’ve been here 4 years now and I’m ready for this renovation. @tbbuilders615 is gonna take this place to the next level,” he continued.

TB-Builders specializes in designing and building custom homes, remodels, and historic preservations.

Shortly before announcing the news on his Instagram grid, Mike also shared a video of the TB-Builders team busy at work on his home to his Instagram Stories.

“I’m pretty simple if I have a Big porch and a Fireplace I’m content.

The home’s renovation plans showed off both a big porch and an additional outdoor seating area, but details on the interior of the home – including the fireplace – weren’t shown.

“This is one of many projects I have going on right now,” he added.

Over the last few years, Mike has turned his attention to buying, renovating, and restoring old homes and businesses in Columbia, Tennessee, a small town 40 miles outside of Nashville.

“If you love old houses and buildings then you feel the same it becomes an addiction,” he added, explaining why he wasn’t satisfied rehabbing just one property.

“@thetypennington Who? Hahaha What’s up buddy?”

Ty Pennington is best known as the lead carpenter of TLC’s 2000s home improvement show, Trading Spaces, and as the host of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition from 2003 to 2012.

He’s also the host of HGTV’s Rock the Block and Battle on the Beach, two competition-style home renovation shows.

It’s unclear whether Ty is going to help Mike out with his “old farm house,” though earlier this year, the duo teased they may be collaborating on some DIY projects in the future.

“Breaking news! My brother from another mother @thetypennington and I finally connected after all of these years,” Mike wrote in a January 2024 Instagram post.

“He’s the Starsky to my Hutch. Preservation warriors on a mission to save small town America stay tuned for some bad assery,” he added, alongside the caption #movethatbus.

The now-infamous saying was popularized by Ty on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, where he would shout the phrase before revealing a family’s new-and-improved home.

Mike’s restoration may have just started, but it appears that major work is already underway.

The American Pickers host showed off a series of photos of the ongoing construction at his home, with workers removing the home’s siding, placing ladders alongside the exterior of the home and setting up scaffolding.

Mike also included a photo of the proposed design for the home’s exterior, which included a large, wrap-around porch, dark green paneling, and an additional, spacious outdoor seating area.

“This looks like a real restoration project !! We’re gonna need a bigger bus,” Ty commented on the post, emphasizing the scale of the project with a crying laughing emoji.

“Hahaha I’m living in it during the process!” Mike replied.

Musician Scott Harris also chimed in with his thoughts, commenting “Thatll be sweet” next to a raised hands emoji.

“Lemmie know when that kitchen is done brother, and I’ll come break it in for ya!” wrote celebrity chef and author Matthew Jennings.

Mike thanked his fans and followers in the post’s comments, and even answered some of their burning questions about the renovation.

Mike revealed that he’ll be living in the home, built around 1910, throughout the remodel, and he’s excited to bring it back to life.

He did, however, stay silent when asked whether the restoration project was going to be filmed for a one-off special or ongoing reality TV series.
