Big News Breadcrumbs & a Vital Lesson of the Week
Big News Breadcrumbs & a Vital Lesson of the Week

So, got the licensing and everything we need for Casey to do her skin care tallow up here at the farm headquarters.
We had to buy a commercial fridge.
We’re having to get her all commercial burners for the heating it up, straining it.
It’s turning into a legitimate little tallow factory.
Look at us.
People said that we were going to turn into the Kardashians, and here we are making our own cosmetic line.
Hey y’all, welcome to Meet the McBes.
Today, Cole and I are in the studio.
Yeah, that’s right. Just Cole and I.
Casey is busy making tallow.
Y’all have been ordering tallow like no other.
So, she’s back at home whipping up some tallow in the kitchen.
Cole’s putting her to work on this tallow.
Yes.
I’m not going to lie, my house smells like
beef tallow.
Vanilla smell out of it with the face, you know, rendering it down.
So, it smells way better by the time it ends up being.
Whenever you first have the tallow, it’s like beef fat.
It has cooking.
I mean, it’s what it is for cooking, but it’s—
Yeah.
It’s not the uh almost smells like it’s like grease, you know?
It’s like a—
Yep.
We did the whole house.
I walked in, I was like, whoa.
So, we’re looking at moving Casey’s tallow making up here to the farm HQ.
We got to do that right away.
We got it half set up.
Yeah, we’ve got it half set up.
So, we’re actually getting her a commercial sized fridge because the way she does her skin care, she renders the tallow, heats it up, strains it, heats it up, strains it, and then she has to put it in the fridge to cool down.
And then she takes a mixer and whips it to create the whipped consistency.
Yeah. Yep.
And she has one of them whip or those mixers that just like sit there and mixes it, you know.
Does she have the um—
No, actually I’m not going to tell her because I don’t want this being put to use.
Have you ever seen the super viral KitchenAid mixer that’s like olive green with the wooden bowl and it is beautiful?
Well, we ain’t got one that expensive, I don’t think.
I bought it just as a decor piece.
Never. It’s never even been plugged in.
Well, we need it.
No, I’m not letting—
That’s what I’m saying.
I’m not letting Casey use that one.
It’s way too nice for tallow.
Yeah.
But no, she has one of those that just goes around and spins and mixes it, and it takes a while to get it to that whipped consistency.
Well yeah, if you’ve ever looked at tallow—our cooking tallow, which is available in a 14 jar—it is like a thick candle wax is what I’d call that consistency.
Whereas the skin care tallow, Casey whips it and mixes it, which turns it into a looks like whipped cream.
Maybe like a thicker whipped cream.
Oh, I would say—
Like a lotion texture.
Lotion texture. Lotion.
Yeah, lotion texture, but a little more—
It’s more thick.
Little hair thicker.
Yeah, it isn’t like liquid like lotion.
But it is like a lotioned—or like—don’t let it sit in your car.
Yeah, it’ll melt.
So that’s what we were—
Yeah.
You need to keep it at room temp.
Room temp or below.
Yeah.
Well, not below, but just room temp.
If it’s 90 outside and you sit it in your car all day, it’ll melt.
Well, just like when it cooks, you know.
It’ll turn into a liquid.
Yeah.
I did the uh—so the other day with my tallow jar, I put it in the fridge after I opened it because I was like, well, this should increase the shelf life.
I didn’t think about the fact that if you put it in the fridge, which is 38 degrees, dude, it hardens up like concrete.
So then I was trying to cook with it and I was trying to get it with the spoon.
You know whenever something’s super tough—like ice cream before you microwave it.
Have you ever tried flipping ice cream out of the tub and it’s rock hard, and then all of a sudden you flip it out?
Did you flip it everywhere?
Everywhere.
Yeah.
So I guess the learning point there is:
Keep your tallow at room temperature.
Don’t go too cold.
Don’t put it in the fridge.
And also don’t leave it in your car.
Yeah. Right.
We’re setting up a legit—
Already got the FDA-approved setup here at HQ.
So, got the licensing and everything we need.
It’s turning into a legitimate little tallow factory.
It is.
She’s going to be making tallow a lot—trying to catch up on orders already.
We haven’t really pushed it yet on social media other than stories.
No emails yet.
And honestly, it’s because we’re trying to figure out how to make it at volume.
It takes Casey a lot of work.
It’s a lot of work. I’m proud of it.
We’re figuring it out.
Like anything we do, we jump in both feet forward and figure it out as we go.
I feel like we’ve done better with this though because we kind of figuring it out first before we—which we are going to be like legit dropping it I would say on our socials here within the next week and a half.
Yeah.
Yeah, for sure.
Trying to get it so we just don’t want too many.
Yeah. Too many orders coming in.
That’s a good problem to have though.
It is a good problem to have.
But the skincare—the face cream—that’s the one I did not realize the interest in.
It has outsold everything else four to one, and everything else has sold good.
Yeah.
But that just tells you how well the face cream has done.
It’s crazy how many face creams are sold.
But it’s good stuff. Like, it really is.
The thing about the face cream is you don’t want to use too much or it can leave that—
Well, that’s the thing—people go a long way.
People see the price point of face cream and they may think, “Oh, that’s expensive.”
What you don’t understand is that little 2 oz jar of face cream will last you 45 to 60 days.
I’m just going to warn you guys right now—we went through and looked at prices.
She’s on the lower side.
We wanted to start on the lower side just because she’s new into it.
Yeah, I think her 2 oz is $24.99.
$27.99.
Most of what I was seeing was in the high 30s.
Yeah.
And for some, it even gets higher than that.
But it goes a long way.
I’d say it lasts about 45 days.
45 days to 60 days.
Because you only want a dab about the size of the tip of your finger.
Otherwise, you’re left with grease on your face.
You want just enough to give you a little shine, but not feel greasy.
Yeah, for sure.
But we’ve already had people—Casey’s going to post them—testimonials coming in saying they’re loving it.
Skin clearing up, helping them, not needing other products anymore.
Because it’s an all-natural product.
Look at us.
People said we were going to turn into the Kardashians, and here we are making our own cosmetic line.
I’d rather be the Kardashians. Just me.
But no—thank you guys so much.
Casey is overwhelmed in the best way possible.
That’s why she’s not on here now.
Yeah, she’s out there working.
She was saying, “Cole, don’t worry about the farm. I’ll support you. I’ll be your sugar mama.”
Hey, I told her she’s paying for my old guns from here on out.
So thank y’all.
If you purchase anything, send Casey a DM or testimonial.
She screenshots every one and sends them to Cole, my mom, and me.
She’s been working hard on it.
She has. It’s good.
What else has been going on this week?
Beans—we’re starting beans tomorrow.
Harvest time.
Doing fall things.
Wish it would cool off so we could hunt.
It’s been 87 degrees every day.
As of October 1st, it’s staying hot another week.
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday look better.
Hopefully leaves start changing.
Maybe get into the woods next week.
Should be hitting scrapes.
Yep.
At the fulfillment center, we’ve got big news coming—can’t announce yet.
It’s been a big week.
It’s crazy how much can change in 72 hours.
You think you have a plan, and everything changes—but for the better.
It’ll be bittersweet when we announce it, but exciting.
This is what we’ve been talking about for a year.
We’ve accomplished a lot this year.
It’s wild.
We’ll have an end-of-year recap.
It’s crazy comparing where we are now versus a year ago.
Still hurdles ahead.
By the time this podcast comes out, another big challenge is coming.
But we’ve solved a lot.
We made a plan and stuck to it.
It feels good.
We thought it would take three years.
We might do it in one.
Even with the economy the way it is.
It’s been incredible timing, blessings, and grinding.
There’s been divine intervention for sure.
We’ll talk about it in two weeks.
Hey y’all, quick sponsor break—Schaefer Outfitters.
Outerwear season is coming.
Lightweight shirts for heat, functional layers for cold.
Family-owned, authentic western brand.
Use code MCB for 15% off at checkout.
We’ve learned our lesson about talking about things too soon.
Dude.
Talking about the Nashville house.
You’re an idiot. Your fault.
I did a podcast and said we sold the house—two days before closing.
They backed out.
Loose lips sink ships.
It got picked up by media and killed the deal—twice now.
We still own it.
The place is amazing.
Perfect location.
$100,000 rooftop renovation.
It keeps falling through at closing.
Maybe because you won’t stop talking.
I’m done talking.
Lesson of the week?
Don’t burn bridges.
Even if you feel wronged, it never helps.
Take the high road.
That 10-minute emotional release always leads to regret.
You never know how dots connect in the future.
Stay calm, cool, collected.
My word for the week: Equanimity.
Staying even through highs and lows.
Joe Cool.
Like Aaron Rodgers.
If you don’t manage emotions, you burn bridges.
Same lesson—different words.
Anything big next week?
Harvest. Beans.
We’ve got a lot moving physically too.
Thanks for tuning in.
We need more guests.
Maybe Masha.
I’m not having Masha.
Casey’s gas station has all the town gossip.
Casey’s is where you get all the tea.
Alright y’all.
See y’all next Tuesday.
Appreciate y’all for tuning in.
See y’all.
