Hello everybody.
Video here for you today.
This is the no cap recap of The Curse of Oak Island season 13 episode 8 called Into the Fold.
Originally aired December 23rd, 2025.

If you missed any of my recaps of previous episodes, there’s a link to my Oak Island playlist in the upper right.
Let’s get into it.

Previously on The Curse of Oak Island, people have been looking for an incredible treasure for 230 years.
The new bore hole is H9.25.

I’m still very confused because surveyor Steve Guptal says it is 5T south of H8 and in the southwest corner of the chapel shaft.
But it would seem that H8 would be west of H9.
And according to this graphic, H9.25 is in the southwest corner of the head and shaft, not chapel shaft.

I would certainly take Steve’s word over mine because I am not a surveyor.
I’m also directionally impaired.
I can’t recall if the grid is aligned north, but even if turned a bit one way or the other, it still wouldn’t be correct.

I will consult with my team 72 pal Zigg and explain on a looks back in ahead or deep dive episode.

Steve additionally says that the chapels were correct about the location of the money pit, but they didn’t go deep enough.

In the southwest corner of the swamp, the team continues excavating the possible road uncovered in the previous episode.
Car spots this piece of shaped wood they suspect to be ship’s railing as they have found previously.
They will get it carbon dated and also show it to a shipwreight to see if it can be identified.

On lot five in the everex expanding round feature, Isabelle finds a small piece of creamware.
Ethan’s finds this big piece of red earthn wear.
Isabelle then finds a simulated gemstone.
This simulated diamond was found just a few feet away the previous year in season 12.

Katchcha and Derek join Billy in the southwestern corner of the swamp.
As he is continuing to excavate the possible road, Katchcha finds a big piece of glass she suspects was part of a bottle.

Billy unearthed this rounded piece of wood.
They have previously found many pieces of ships dating as far back to the 1600s AD.

This was the transition shot out of the swamp.
Note the other excavator in the distance that appears to be digging up the bay side of the road.

In the lab, Emma says, “The pace gym is very similar to the one found the previous year, except for it being dark instead of clear.
It was mounted to a tin setting and is a very high quality from France in the mid700s, both of which could link the Duke Donvi theory.

He was sent to recapture Nova Scotia from the English, but that mission failed miserably due to horrible storms, which are very common in the North Atlantic waters, as well as rampant disease among the sailors.

In 2017, Doug Croll found part of a ships log in the government archives that was from one of the ships in the Dome Armada.
It said that one of the ships carried treasure that was to be buried in a deep pit on an island of oaks.

The high quality of the two simulated gems found would have been worn only by high status individuals.

According to Leairard, back in the southwestern corner of the swamp, Katchcha finds another hand cut steak.

At the commercial break, narrator Robert Clotworthy reminds us that they’re continuing to drill in the money pit area.
In this case, oh, so close to the garden shaft.
Note the toot1 queson to the far left.

Dr. Spooner arrives and is told that both pieces of wood were found in Pete below the sand layer.
He requests a sample of the pete so it can be dated, which would allow a better build date to be determined.

Previous similar dating has put the paved area near the center of the swamp to the 1200s, the believed Portuguese style stone road in the southeastern corner to the 1500s, and the eye of the swamp to 1680.

The varying dates again would appear to give credence to the theory that Oak Island was a multi-generational project perhaps by the Knights Templar and or one or more of the orders that succeeded them.

Gary says he will save a clump of Pete with some wood in it for the good doctor.

Back in the money pit area, we get a shot with the drill rig further away from the garden shaft.
Note that the drill rig is very close to the toot1 queson.
This is a good example of the editors not making efforts to document exactly where things are, which seems to be very common.

Narrator Robert Cotworthy confirms that they are still drilling bore hole h.25.
The core sample from 212 ft is the loose material they are looking for.
That would be in the solution channel.

Just like in the two previous episodes, Charles gets a metal detector hit on the table.
Terry picks up a handful of the core material and lifts it above the table, which has Neil’s in it.

Charles still gets a hit there, whereas in the last two weeks, they did not get the secondary hit.

They take that clump of spoil to the zero metal table and after moving it around don’t get any other signals.
It seems to be the same situation of small amounts of metals clumped together at first but then when they move it around it becomes unclumped which results in not being able to set off the pinpointer.

They call Rick to update him and Rick says to take the entire 10-ft core sample to the lab to be tested.
Not just the small amount.

They move to the screwless table.
Gary and Rick metal detect a lot five round feature spoils and find this small button.
Gary suggests it’s a lapel button since it’s so small and says it sounds like a copper alloy.

Rick then has the fabulous idea to group all of the buttons found and give them to a button expert that would perhaps know more information about the styles and other characteristics that would narrow down who would be wearing them.

The next hit is this copper coin that has been folded over.
Gary has found many of these in Europe.

Gary explains that being folded and buried in the ground wards off bad luck to protect themselves or to protect something.
Our narrator tells us that the ritual was practiced in Europe between the 11 and 1700s, but was first done by ancient Romans.

Rick later says that he and many others believe that the work on Oak Island was done to protect something outside of temporal wealth.
Perhaps something of historical or religious value.

They take it to the lab for Emma’s expert analysis.

Next time on an allnew The Curse of Oak Island season 13, episode 9 called So Close Yet Sonar.
After verifying a recent find on lot five to be a sacred religious artifact, the team drills through a surprising discovery deep in the money pit area.

And that episode is on December 30th, the last episode, last new episode of 2025.

The following week on Tuesday, January 6 is season 13, episode 10 called Boulder and Wiser.
When the team finds an artifact on lot 5 that may date to medieval times, it leads them to another massive discovery.

Tuesday, January 13th gives us episode 11 called A Night’s Journey.
As the team makes a potentially key discovery beneath a boulder on lot eight, new clues arise that could identify who was behind the Oak Island mystery.

And on January 20th, episode 12 is called A Fort Knight, and there’s no synopsis for that one yet.

Recaps of all of the aired shows from every season are in my Oak Island playlist.
I will be recapping new episodes as they air from now December 2025 to May 2026.

That playlist is linked at the end of this video on the screen now or very soon.

I’ll also be putting out retro recaps of Secret of Skinwalker Ranch seasons two through four.
Seasons 1, five, six, and the first five episodes of season 2 are already done and are in that Skinwalker Ranch playlist.

Thanks so much for watching.
Please subscribe, like, and comment.
Simpanti, and merry Christmas.
Also, very happy new year.
