The team launches a new round of rockets to repeat a past experiment, recording data as strange signals intensify the higher they go. See more in this clip from Season 1, Episode 4, “High Strangeness.”

Think we’re all good. We just need rockets. It’s going to be interesting. Going to be awesome.

Last week, after we determined that some kind of intense RF radiation is coming from about a mile above the ranch, the team and I devised an experiment where we sent up a weather balloon outfitted with a tri-field meter and a GPS tracker to try and identify the source. But suddenly, just when it reached the target area, the balloon stopped transmitting data. The whole thing just seemed to disappear.

So now we’re going to try and repeat the experiment, but this time using rockets. We have spectrum analyzers, which read electromagnetic energy and report it back in what we call a spectrum. The way it works is that you hook up a phone to it, run a special app, put in the nose code, pray that it comes back, and then take that reading.

The data on the spectrum analyzer will be recorded directly into a cell phone. If our earlier data is correct, it will show that the higher the rocket travels, the more intense the RF radiation levels will become.

We are ready to launch. Inserting the safety key. It’s good. Launch in three, two, one. Ignition. There it goes. Uh-oh. This rocket hasn’t gone as high as it was supposed to, so it didn’t reach a point where the chute could pop. That’s what you call a missile.

Rockets fail. That’s why we have more of them. So we just have to do another test. For the second launch, we decided to test not only for RF radiation but also for gamma rays. After RF, there’s infrared, visible, ultraviolet, and finally gamma rays. Gamma radiation is very dangerous to humans, so if the test comes back positive, it could mean we’re all in real danger just being out here on Skinwalker Ranch.

As we were preparing to launch again, we saw something strange in the sky. It was a really bright translucent ball that suddenly disappeared into a single point. It wasn’t an airplane—there was no sound, no contrail, and it vanished too quickly.

We decided to continue with the launch anyway. Three, two, one, ignition. This time, the chute deployed correctly, and we may have real data. During all my time on this ranch, I had never really seen anything like this before, but now I truly believe I saw a UFO.

Later, we reviewed the surveillance footage. The object appeared in the same part of the sky, stayed nearly motionless for about ten seconds, and then vanished. The speed and behavior didn’t match any known aircraft.

When we analyzed the data, we saw something even more concerning. At around 1,000 feet, there was a noticeable increase in electromagnetic radiation and gamma rays. Normally, radiation levels decrease with altitude, but here they increased. That suggests we were getting closer to a gamma-ray source as we went higher.

This means there is a concentration of energy above the ranch. What’s even more alarming is that many of these readings occurred at the same time we started seeing the strange objects in the sky.

Wow.
