I was on Below Deck this latest season.
I will expose everything. It looked really like they staged that to be honest. I was not able to show any videos of the crew or of the cameras or anything. So for a year now, I had very strict contracts telling me what I can do and what I cannot do.
Welcome to Carl Moon Vlogs. So let me tell you about the whole journey of being on the show. So first of all, the reason why I was on the show in the first place was because I was asked to be on the show a few years ago with some other people and then it didn’t happen.
But then I had the connection and then a little bit later when I spoke to my sister cuz I I told her I was going to be on Below Deck many years ago but I wasn’t. She was very sad because it’s one of her favorite shows. my sister and my mom and like some of my friends, they love this show. And um basically I knew that I have to make it happen somehow.
So that’s why I texted this lady again.
I said, “Hey, um if there’s any chance to be on Below Deck this season, I am down, you know.” And then she said, “Yes, perfect. We’re looking for guests.
You know, we’re looking for for people that are are down.” So we uh made it happen. And then I was uh of course the primary guest as it’s called. And then I called my friends. I called Dainci, Ununice, Philillip and I told them let’s do this together like you guys join and they were all down. Then we went to the uh to the yacht in Barcelona and of course you can uh understand you have to sign some NDAs because uh certain things we can’t say for example for for a year now I was not allowed to say that I was on below deck I was not able to show any videos of the crew or of the cameras or anything. So I had very strict contracts telling me what I can do and what I cannot do. But now I can tell you everything. The day before the charter, we were put in a hotel and actually that was the first mistake they made, I think, cuz they put us in a very bad like a three star or four star. I think it was a probably a bad fourstar, you know. There are good four stars in the world, but this was a bad four-star. And we we were surprised because the price of the charter was like I think €60,000.
And when you pay something like this for for a charter, if they put you in a hotel, you would expect something quite nice. But it was uh it was not up to standard. But it is what it is. like we were fine with it because at the end of the day it’s a TV show. It’s like they have a budget probably u and yeah many people always ask me like do you get a discount on the charter or not?
Basically they said we get um 50% discount. €60,000 is approximately what it should cost for a 3 4 day charter. I think it was 3 days for 4 days. That’s all. It’s not even a week. I actually think that the price was fair. It was not a big discount. Um, but you would think there would be a discount because of the TV show, but no. Anyways, uh then we went on the boat and the boat was very beautiful of course, very very nicely furnished, uh quite recently refurbished and we said hi to the crew and um personally I didn’t watch Below Deck so much before um especially not recently. So the only person I recognized was Sandy the captain, but the crew I I didn’t really know Asia and these other people. Uh, and then they of course showed us the boats. They showed us the whole uh like everything. They showed me my master cabin because that’s where I was staying. And then my friends, they got the the cabins uh below deck as it’s called. So, one of the things that you don’t see on camera is that we we had of course um microphones all the time, but they were like on a small necklace and then the small uh microphone was hidden below the um the shirt. And then there was cameras literally everywhere like in every corner of the yacht. And um also guys were running around with big cameras like this and sometimes they would just run up to you and just like start filming you in your face and uh and then they would run away again. And also uh during the charter like every day and every night there was like big tender boats coming with like 10 people like film crew and like people and like I don’t know script writers whatever like so many like TV people coming in and out of the boat. It was like really crazy to see the amount of people that were there. I think the crew was probably only like maybe seven or eight people, but the like the the charter crew, but the film crew must have been 15 20 people running in and out and back. It was crazy. There was so many people, but you don’t see them on the show. And we rarely saw them also. We saw only with the camera guys, but sometimes when you um you could see when they were shifting different um people off the boat, like different like night shift and dayshift, you saw the amount of people coming in and out of the boat. It was pretty crazy. So, the reason why I chartered the yacht was because I was celebrating my birthday, so I wanted to do that on on the boat. Um so, that was fun. Uh we had a very beautiful birthday dinner.
They made like a birthday cake with for me with like my face on it and everything. It was pretty funny. Uh but they actually cut that segment out but as you can see on the screen uh they did a very good job with that. Actually something else they cut out of the show was one day they they sent us to a village to just go and walk around cuz they said they have to prepare something. When we came back to the boat they actually had put my face on the yacht and they said that they did it because they saw that I put my face on a Formula 2 car which I did which is in my office here. Uh so they they did that for me as a fun thing. Uh, but for some reason they cut that out out of the show. They cut out a few things out of the show, but um that was probably the most noteworthy thing they cut out. One funny part of the show is when the crew is, you know, crashing the jet ski into the boat. When we saw this, we were eating dinner and we saw them do it. It looked really like they staged that to be honest. Like I think it was fully staged, but I guess that’s reality TV, right? Like how much stuff can actually happen on a 3 4 day charter, right?
We didn’t make any drama. The guests, I mean, I didn’t make any drama. I’m not going to make drama on TV, you know. Uh, so they have to make the drama happen somehow. So, they they I think they basically like crashed the the jet ski a little bit on purpose. And also I think you know I have the feeling that when the the crew members are fighting like in the first couple of episodes there you know I never saw those vibes between like I’m pretty sure like you it was everything is basically staged because it’s it’s a TV show but I I really think it was a great charter. It was the the crew was actually amazing. They didn’t do anything bad uh that I could uh see.
They the food was incredible. Uh like you can see on the screen all of the different dishes were amazing. they put on the table. Um the uh the captain was super nice. Um and Asia was amazing. Um so basically I decided to give a huge tip >> for the tip money. 30,000.
>> Obviously part of the reason why I wanted to give such a massive tip was because it’s on TV. So it’s like, you know, it’s just for fun because the the charter value was €60,000 and I gave €30,000 which is pretty crazy. Uh the other guys chipped in a bit as well, but I gave like personally I think €20,000 or even more. So that was a big tip and they were super happy. I even Asia herself, she uh messaged me cuz I I messaged her on Instagram after and she said, “Hey, it was such a pleasure on the charter.” And I meant what I said about it being the best one. And then she said, “Carl, oh my goodness, thank you so much for the tip. We could not believe our eyes. Just so generous of you and the team. I can’t thank you enough.” and thank you for being so kind and gracious. It was a really hard couple of days figuring the boat out and you were the best group to have first.
Such a pleasure to meet you and I really hope we can meet again one day. So yeah, basically we had a uh a good few messages back and forth there. I want to show you uh when I uh boarded the yacht and also my own uh vlogging from the yacht cuz I made some vlogs for you guys to uh basically uh show you how the boat was. So let me show you right now.

And a small little working office desk here where I can make some videos and do some job. We’re still in the port, but about to leave now. This is incredible.

I have my own little workspace right there. I can uh do anything I want. So yeah, we’re going to be on this um show and we they’re filming like crazy right now. I cannot show that upstairs because it’s completely strictly forbidden. I cannot mention the show we’re on and I will basically not mention anything that gets me in trouble. But um you get the point. There’s cameras everywhere. The only place where there is no um cameras and stuff, it’s uh here in uh in my own private suite. So yeah, here I can talk to you guys. And yeah, look at that. I think we’re still in um yeah, we’re definitely still in Spain, but we’re going to go anchor now and eat some food. We will do some jet skiing and have some fun. More to come. So nice. So, we’re going to eat now in just uh 10 minutes or so. So, I got to take a quick shower and then dinner.

>> So, as you can see now, I’m extremely sunburned. I’ve been doing like at least 2 hours of jet ski per day now here on the boat. And uh yeah, I guess this is just proof that I’ve had a lot of fun.
But yeah, I’m very red. Anyways, it’s been such a blast. I’ve unfortunately not been able to film so much because I I frankly have just been enjoying my time a lot. Uh, but it’s getting a little bit late, so we have dinner now.
And apparently, it’s like a surprise for me. And they already put my face on the boat. Apparently, they I guess Googled my name and saw that I put my face on a Formula 2 car and they thought it was funny to put my face on the yacht. So, that was funny. Um, and um, yeah, so tonight we’re going to be celebrating, of course, my birthday, but also Davinci’s birthday. Um, our birthdays are not exactly right now, but in like a few weeks. So, we want to celebrate our both birthdays at the same time now. And um, that’s going to be epic.

How do you think the charter was, bro?
>> Was amazing.
>> It was just best time ever.

>> Honestly, I I really think this was the best charter I ever did.

>> I actually believe that. I really >> And um actually chartering is not about the boat. It’s about the crew. You guys did such a good job.

I think the only thing we did yesterday was water sports.

Like, this is how life should be lived, guys. Um, that’s that’s what I’m trying to always inspire you guys to do. Davin, >> what do you think about the yacht?

>> It’s a great yacht. And the crew was amazing. I mean, >> yeah, >> it’s just the chef was just like >> chef was incredible.

>> I think so.
>> For me, I think as well, like I can’t remember another crew that was better. I mean, I’ve had better yachts.
>> Yes, definitely.
>> But but that doesn’t mean a better charter because the crew is way more important than the the yacht itself, right?
>> Yeah. Exactly. Exactly.
Basically, most of the stuff I was not allowed to publish because I was under strict contract, but now I can tell you that I was on the low deck and it’s all fine. One other thing that they cut out from the show was uh me and Max, one of the crew members, we had a bit of a um bet. I forgot what the bet was actually, but anyways, I remember he lost the bet and the bet was that the guy who loses has to touch the jellyfish because there was jellyfish everywhere. And then he actually went and touched a jellyfish and then he got it in his face. And then of course, as you saw on the show, there was a big drama around that. But actually, they cut out all the interaction we had with crew members that was very friendly. They cut it out.
So, I was very friendly. Like, we had good vibes with the Max. The guests talked a lot with the uh the crew, but they never show when we were very friendly and and like when we were, you know, hanging out or bonding with the crew members cuz I think the TV show wants it to be very strict. Like it’s the crew and then there’s the guests.
