Captain Jason Makes a Damning Declaration on Alesia and Chef Ben’s Drama

Even after the cast of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 6 departed from the first-ever crossover charter, the drama continued—but this time, the chaos was below deck.

In the above preview of Below Deck Down Under Season 4, Episode 3 (airing Monday, Feb. 16), chief stew Daisy Kelliher briefs Captain Jason Chambers on the problematic relationship between head chef Ben Robinson and sous chef Alesia Harris. She says their bickering has moved out of the galley and spilled over to a night out with the rest of the crew.

“They, like, went for each other,” Daisy informs Jason. “It was pretty bad last night, I’m not gonna lie. It just went from zero to 100.”

Although Jason says that he wants to see Alesia stay in the preview for Episode 3, Daisy doesn’t see it happening. “I personally don’t think they can do the season together. I was hoping they would. But I think this is going to keep going,” she warns Jason. “I also think it’s going to take away from their service. It’s gonna hinder the guest food, most importantly.”

Daisy offers a solution for the galley drama: move Alesia to the interior crew. “I don’t want to see Alesia go, as well,” she explains. “She fits in great with the crew. Apparently, she was a stew before she was a sous chef. I don’t know what your plan is, but from my end, I’m happy for her to join my team.”

Jason agrees to consider it, but he also issues a stern critique of Alesia and the situation, telling Daisy, “I’m a little bit disappointed that Alesia can’t just toughen up for a while.”

Although Jason had harsh words for Alesia at the time, he’s since softened his stance.

“It’s not until I watched the episode that I actually had more empathy and understanding of the situation,” Jason revealed during an exclusive interview with The Daily Dish in February. “At that time, I was like, ‘Come on. Let’s just get into it…’ Looking back now, you can see that she was foreseeing the future. It was not gonna be an easy workplace environment for her.”

Jason also revealed what he told Ben before the charter season, and why it might have been misleading.

“I said, ‘You’ll have a sous chef.’ So, he’s probably coming there with a bit of expectations,” he explained to The Daily Dish. “He hasn’t been in this environment for a while, and now he’s got a sous chef that’s not performing, and he’s probably wondering what’s going on there, and he’s probably thinking [there are] hurdles in front of him that have been put there.”

All aboard! Below Deck Down Under Season 4 has left the dock, with new episodes airing Mondays at 8/7c on Bravo and streaming the next day on Peacock.

Captain Jason Chambers is back at the helm, along with some very familiar faces from around the Below Deck universe, including Ben Robinson, Daisy Kelliher, and João Franco.​​​​​ They will be joined by Alesia Harris, Joe Caron, Jenna Woudberg, Mike Durrant, Eddy Hounsell, and Betul Yazici.

The crew finds itself on rocky waters, as the season kicks off with a historic crossover charter featuring The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 6 cast aboard M/Y Katina. As the yachties continue to set sail through Canouan in the Caribbean, they face crew drama, steamy hookups, and charter guest issues.

Ben Robinson’s drama with Alesia Harris, explained
Alesia and Ben’s disagreements began before the first charter guests even stepped on board, after Alesia burned a frittata during the season premiere, and Ben sarcastically called it “the f—k up of the century.” Moments later, Alesia burned her hand on hot dishes and left the galley in tears.

Tensions later escalated after Ben criticized Alesia’s assembly of zombie ice cream dessert for the guests in Below Deck Down Under Episode 2, and later threw Alesia’s muffins away after declaring they were undercooked and inedible. The Feb. 9 episode ended with Alesia admitting to Jason she wanted to quit.

“I can’t do the galley. I can’t do Ben’s mood swings. It’s so toxic,” she told the captain. “I am doing my absolute best, and I can tolerate it for a set amount of time, but it’s three days in, and I’m losing my head.”

As Alesia began crying, she admitted to Jason that the situation was “too much” for her. “I’m waving the white flag, and I just can’t do it,” she declared.
