American Pickers star Mike Wolf shared a video with an announcement about his retirement that left fans in tears. On May 4th, the History Channel star, 60, took to Instagram with a clip just one week after marking the end of an era with a major career move.
“Testing out retirement vehicles to get me around the flea market. #carbon footprint,” Wolf captioned his update.
In the clip, the history fanatic sat on an old tricycle as he pedaled and steered the contraption with a single lever. Those who spotted the word “retirement” in his post likely panicked, but then breathed a sigh of relief after rereading it and realizing Wolf wasn’t announcing his retirement from American Pickers. Phew.
After getting over the initial shock, plenty of Instagram users chimed in with their reactions and comments to his retirement mode of transportation. Many of them were in tears from laugh-crying.
One follower shared, “Great idea. Let me know how they work and what you recommend.” 😅
Another quipped, “Perfect old guy transportation. I want one for future use.” 😁
Someone else declared, “You’re not ready for that yet.” 😜
As another commented on the sound the tricycle made, writing, “Lot of cracking and a popping sounds like bacon in a pan.” 😂😂😂😭
“Pop a wheelie, Mike,” a different fan demanded.
Meanwhile, Wolf’s American Pickers co-star Danielle Kby commented, “😂”
One week prior, Wolf closed his Antique Archaeology store for good in Nashville. He also recently revealed a brand new History Channel show, as well as a new movie.
Kby announced a big career move of her own in recent weeks, as she and Wolf continue filming for another season of American Pickers, at least for now.
