Despite the fact that it looked like they had seen it all while searching for this mysterious treasure on the strange place that we all know as Oak Island, this current discovery looks like it only took place due to this old map that they had picked up during their search for this treasure. Etched on the map, the Lagina brothers and their team noticed that it seemed to lead them to this hidden hatch.

As you can imagine, the team was truly excited about what could possibly be on the other side of this hidden hatch. Many members of the team truly hoped that this was the back entrance of some sort to the Money Pit. If this wasn’t the case, then they really hoped that this was the pathway to a vault or chamber that may be holding the treasure of their dreams.

Whatever the case may be, the team hoped that they would find this hatch. To them, this was a bit of a sentimental wish because they knew that if they found the hatch, it would validate the theories and assertions of Zena Halper, their seafaring history expert, who had helped them with the search for this treasure.

Although the date seemed to be written in Roman numerals, the team seemed to be more fascinated by the fact that Oak Island was clearly illustrated on this map, on a position between latitudes 46 and 47.

As fascinating as this may be, in that such an old map showed that people knew of Oak Island’s existence even back then, the team seemed to be more fascinated by a dot labeled “Rondan” somewhere close to Oak Island on the map. According to Zena, she held the strong belief that this Rondan referred to New Ross. For those who may not be in the loop of all things Oak Island, New Ross was a reference to a settlement connected to Henry Sinclair’s famous expedition to Nova Scotia all the way back in 1398.

Alas, we all know that she was getting a bit ahead of herself, as neither she nor the rest of her family would ever get to enjoy a life after the French Revolution.

With that in mind, there are many others who claim that this treasure may have belonged to William Shakespeare, the famous bard known for his breathtaking plays such as Hamlet, Macbeth, The Merchant of Venice, and many more. Few would have thought that this famous playwright would have little reason to even know about the existence of a place such as Oak Island. Alas, you’d find that the rumors surrounding this treasure claim that among the gold and other valuable relics supposed to be among the treasure, treasure hunters would find some of the unpublished work of the great bard.

There are even those who claim that this treasure belonging to Shakespeare was only on Oak Island because these works were not written by William Shakespeare but by Francis Bacon. But that’s another story for another time.

With that in mind, you couldn’t blame Halin, the Lagina brothers, the Curse of Oak Island team, and those eager fans watching from home for thinking that the nearby town of New Ross could have a much more interesting history that could be linked to the Knights Templar.

Important words and clues etched on the map with that in mind, Zena and the rest of the guys started to realize how important her maps were to this mystery. In fact, one of the maps seemed to illustrate the entirety of Nova Scotia, something that could be helpful to giving the team an insight as to how the people of yesteryear saw the territory of Nova Scotia back then.

On the other hand, the other map, that is the French map from 1347, seemed to be just as interesting, if not more. For those able to zoom in a little, they’d notice that some of the words on this map were French. Could this be proof that the French made it to the island back then? This makes a bit of sense because the Knights Templar would have had members from all over Europe.

This turns our attention to other things found on these fascinating maps. For example, they had to look into a swamp that was referred to as a basin. They also had to carry their investigations to this dam thanks to the assertions of one of the researchers on the team.

As odd as this may be, there are many other fascinating things that were illustrated on this map. Just take a look at where this map said “Bo Enter Here.” Apparently, this was a point which was believed to be a famous treasure hunting spot on the mysterious island.

Alas, as fascinating as some of these words may have been, there were some that just proved to confuse the team just as much as they inspired them. Some of these words, such as anchor and valve, only proved to be a point of contention for those who laid their eyes on the map. Incredibly, the images that they got from the map seemed to line up perfectly with the island’s shores and borders. To the team, this was proof that the old map of Oak Island may actually be accurate, as it seems to match what the island looks like today.

As encouraging as this may seem, Jack saw it fit to warn the team that they still weren’t sure about what the hidden latch looked like. If they couldn’t tell what it may look like, how were they ever going to know that they found it?

As a result, the team realized that they were going to have to get creative if they were going to find this hidden hatch. As daunting as this may have been, it appeared that the team got a break when they noticed this bright spot in both the old map and the recently taken satellite image.

This bright spot seemed to represent a hole. Could this actually be where this hatch is hidden? As you can imagine, this was great news for the Lagina brothers and the team. To them, these images and the hole proved that the map was real. If the map was real, that meant that the hole may be in this hidden hatch.

With such a prospect in mind, the team just couldn’t wait any longer. They had to know what they could find if they could just get to this hidden hatch. As great as this may be, Rick and Marty got into it when they were talking about this new discovery.

After thinking about the history of this strange island, they couldn’t help but remember some of the other theories that came into play when it came to the source of this elusive treasure. Sure, there were those who believed it belonged to either pirates, famous writers, or ancient religious and military organizations. But it was clear that whoever this treasure belonged to, all the Lagina brothers and their team wanted to know was how they were going to get their hands on this elusive treasure.

Maybe one day, Zena and her maps would help the brothers and their team find the elusive treasure of Oak Island.
