Greetings everyone, and welcome to The Freeman Files with Tom Burns and Jeff, here with you — uh, JFree 906 Podcast Channel.

Thank you guys for joining us here.
We’ve got some news that we wanted to partake with everyone, so we thought it’d be a good time to jump on and talk.

Tom, how you doing up there?
I’m doing great. And I want to say hello to our people watching from Europe, who can actually watch us live — and not have to stay up until 3:00 in the morning.

Yes. That’s the beauty of doing a news at noon.
We got more opportunity for people to watch that are not in the U.S. or Canada.

Alright. Well, thank you folks for joining us here today.
We appreciate it very much.

And the big announcement, of course, is that The Curse of Oak Island TV show starts in 20 days — 20 days, Tom!
And we hope in 25 days in Canada.

Yeah. You guys haven’t heard yet, right?
We haven’t heard yet, but that’s not unusual.
I think it was like two weeks before last year before we actually got the announcement.

Yeah. So, Skinwalker Ranch is still playing their season here, so that’s got to kind of wind down.
Oh, okay, good. Well, I’m glad you guys get to check that out.

So yeah — there was the announcement.
It was put out Tuesday, November 4th, at 9:00 for those of us here in the U.S.
So, we’ll be watching that. That’s 20 days from today.

And we will be on here — Tom and I, and Seth — and we’ll have a few others.
Colin will join us from time to time, and some other special guests will be joining us here on Wednesday nights throughout the entire season at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time.

We’ll be talking about each and every episode.
So, I’m excited.
I think that, you know, with season 13, you think, “Oh boy, is this the lucky 13?”

And I always think of 13 as being a lucky number — not a bad number.
To some people it is lucky 13, but I think as we go through the promo, you’re going to see a new level of determination.

Not only determination, but some finds.
Now we know that this promo that was just put out — that we all witnessed or watched — this promo is for the entire season.
So keep that in mind.

It was a good promo.
There could be some lost leaders in here too, and there could be some stuff here you’re never going to see again.

Yes indeed.
And we— yeah. Well, I’ll tell you what.
Let’s just go through it, because we’ve only watched this what — about 35 times now?

Yeah. Maybe it was 13 times.
Maybe it was 13 times.

So, it was a good promo. I really enjoyed it.
Had a lot of good stuff.
Let the speculation begin — indeed, with the speculation department here.

Got my notes ready. Let’s jump into it a little bit, shall we?

So, here are a look at what will supposedly be the first episodes:
The Comeback, and Billion Dollar Baby, episode number two, and Medieval Intentions and The Smoking Gun.

You can tie all three of those together, can’t you?
You kind of can.

Yeah. Got a billion dollars’ worth of gold laying at the bottom of the baby blob, right?
And who put it there?
Well, could have been the Templars — the smoking gun.

Well, what do they dig up?
Wherever they dig up, there’s supposed to be some pretty significant finds.

So yes, that was one of the most exciting things for me — to see, and I know we talk about this pretty much every year — we talk about what we see in the actual people from the show, and the things that they talk about, or the excitement level they have.

This year, it was off the charts.

You know, we talked a little bit last week about what Laird Niven had said — something that would potentially completely change his idea about what Oak Island was being used for, and what happened there, you know.

So that’s huge.

You know, we talked — Laird’s finally coming around to our way of thinking.

Maybe a little bit. But this find supposedly reels them in pretty good.

So, we’ll see as this goes.

Anyway, that’s some of the first episodes that are going to be coming on this season in just 20 short days.

And here’s a look at the beginning of that promo.

Now, we got a few shots from the promo that we’re going to talk about here, and some of the items that were on the table there.

Can’t really get a good look at them, but it looks like it might be a trade bead onto one.
And I don’t know. You really couldn’t tell.

I was thinking it was that green trade bead in that centerpiece, but I don’t know.
Yeah, you really couldn’t zoom in well enough to tell.
Yeah, it all just gets too blurry so you can’t really tell.

Right in front of Billy — I think that’s the lead cross for sure.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah, that’s the lead cross right there.
Yes, absolutely.

Your guess is as good as mine.

Couple of interesting things on the table over here that they’re looking at in front of Marty, but again, we’re not sure exactly what they are. Hopefully, we’ll see.

Some new faces — not Steve and Ian sitting right there in the front, but those people sitting behind him.

Now, we know Dan Henskee over here, and we know Fiona in the red right there.
And we now know that this is Michaela sitting over here on the right.

But we have a new member of the archaeology team that we hope we’ll meet or get to find out who she is on the first episode here coming up on the 4th.

So, that’ll be exciting — some new faces for the archaeology team.

I think Ethan is still there this year too.
I thought — I don’t know — maybe.
I think we’ve seen pictures of him from Tony’s cruises going by.

Yes, exactly. Right.

So, a couple of the things as they went through this promo — there were some statements, some things said in there by different people, and I’ve done a little bit of listening to them, and I may play one of them I captured because it was an example of Prometheus’ tricky yet fancy editing.

Yeah, we’ll play that here in just a minute.
Somewhat, I’d call it — somewhat suspect.
Yeah, somewhat suspect for sure.

So, we get a look here at the Money Pit — nice aerial shot here that they had on the promo.

And you see where this is.
This is probably right after they got started back in the early parts of the season — obviously, a lot of leaves on the trees.

Well, yeah.
If you recall, Choice showed up back in what — May or June, right?
And because there’s nobody else there — right?

There’s no other drill equipment there.
You get Choice’s trailer over in the corner.
There’s no compressors or anything set up.

This is long in advance — before the SB Canada and Rock Equipment showed up, which is what we thought from looking at the tours going by.

We could see the Choice drill rig bouncing all over the Money Pit down in that area.
Yeah, correct.

Yeah, they did a lot of drilling.

This particular one, you can see the little shadow right behind them there.
Now remember that we talked about T1 was left in the ground all winter — that caisson that went down and supposedly sitting on the ledge of the bedrock with an exposed area going down into the solution channel.

They left it in there all winter, and you can see right there — it’s still in the ground as of this picture here — when Choice was doing their sonic drilling.

And there’s another look at it there.
So, there’s T1 and they’re working right next to it.

Now Tom and I kind of talked about, you know, where they were heading from here — to go towards — in my mind, they’re heading toward the Garden Shaft because they’re following the solution channel.

And they had this map up, and they were kind of going through this a little bit.

Tom, did you have some highlights that you wanted to point out?

Yeah. I mean, we always speculated that everything we’ve seen this year has shown us that they dedicated their time to that — I’m going to call it a U-shaped area around T1 over to the Garden Shaft, which includes the Baby Blob, right?

Yep.

If you watch on the promo, you’ll see actually Marty’s finger — that’s why I did four different shots — he makes that same “U.”
He’s connecting T1 over by the Garden Shaft.

There’s no mistaking it.
So that, to me, is where they spent their time, energy, and money.

So do you think that the Choice drill rig was out there specifically to find caisson targets?

Absolutely. No question in my mind.

This is your cheapest way to explore, right?
Oh, absolutely.

You know, it’s like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
So I think they defined their search parameters and when they gave them a month or two months — or whatever — I’ve got it written down here when Choice showed up, but doesn’t matter.

They were there well in advance of Rock and SB Canada.
They picked the spots, they went back in, they showed the guys the map, and then Marty went, “Here’s where we’re going — right here.”

Mhm. So that’s where they went.

Yep. And I think it falls in here.

Now, we showed these the other day when we did a little podcast last Wednesday night with Seth.
And Seth will be with us as we go through.
He may not be on every episode — but he has a family. He’s a family man.
He’s got young’uns.

And so, he works every day.
He works every day.
So, he’ll be here when he can.

But here’s what we were talking about in that particular podcast just briefly.

So there’s that T1 down here in red, of course, and the green area is outlining what they believe is the solution channel.
And then the top picture up here — you can see where it looks like the solution channel is heading straight up toward the Garden Shaft.

And we think that that is the area that they’re following.

In my mind there’s no question — that’s where they spent their time.
That’s where they spent their money.

If you look at any of the shots from Tony’s tours this summer, or from Karen, or from Colin, or from anybody — they didn’t leave that area.
They stayed there.

Yeah. And I think when you dig down in the promo — you can hear the conviction in Marty’s voice:
“This is where it is.”

And you never hear Marty say, “I know there’s treasure here.”
He says, “This is where the treasure is.”

Yep. Right.

So, he believes in the science.
He believes in what Spooner and his buddies have come up with.

He believes there’s a treasure down there now.
Actually, he doesn’t believe it — in his mind, you can see he knows it.

Yeah.

And remember, too, that he talked about — and I had a little quick reel that I did — where he said, “We now have an X marks the spot in the Money Pit.”
And I didn’t notice any fancy editing in that particular portion.

No.

So yeah, he believes that that X — to him, I’m pretty sure — I’m guessing here a little bit, because I haven’t talked to Marty about this — but I’m pretty sure he is saying that the solution channel is his X marking spot.

That’s where it’s gone.

And now we know that the last caisson that they put in — that we saw at the end of last season — was D-1X.
That was the one they were putting in right at the end, before the rain and the flooding came.

So, D-1X went down.
They hit some interesting material in there, but they had to stop because of all the water coming in.

Exactly.
And we speculated back then — if they could go back this season, would they start right there again?
And, by the looks of what we’re seeing, I think that’s exactly what they did.

Yep, they went right back to that D-1X area, and then they worked their way toward the Garden Shaft following that line.

Now, you remember how last season, they also found that wooden tunnel down there?
Yep.
And they said it ran off in that same direction — toward the Garden Shaft.

Yep.

So, everything is lining up here, folks.
That’s why they’re all focused on that side — because the data keeps pointing the same way.

And you can see the excitement in Marty’s face when he’s standing there —
“This is it. This is where it’s leading us.”

You don’t often see him get that confident about a dig site.
No, you don’t.
Usually, he’s the skeptical one — the voice of reason, right?

Right. Rick’s the dreamer, Marty’s the skeptic.
And when the skeptic starts to believe, you know something’s going on.

Exactly.
Now, you remember that little clip they showed of the caisson coming up — they had water just pouring out of it?
Oh, yes.
That’s one of the shots that made me think — they must’ve hit something open down there.

That was a lot of water.
That was not just ground seepage.
That was an open void, no question.

Yeah. And it’s interesting because, in that same part of the promo, you hear someone say — I think it was Rick —
“There’s a chamber down there.”

Yes!
And that got me — I replayed that part several times.
Because if they’re confirming a chamber, that’s huge.

That’s what they’ve been looking for all along — an open chamber or a man-made structure under the Money Pit.

That’s right.
And if that chamber connects to the Garden Shaft area — well, that’s the path we’ve been waiting for since day one.

And there’s another shot — you can see one of the core samples coming up, and it’s got what looks like worked timber in it.
Yes.
Squared-off edges, not natural at all.

That was around the 90-foot mark, if I remember right.
Somewhere right around there.

Yep. And it looked old.
That’s the thing — that wood did not look modern.

So, between the wood, the water flow, and the chamber comment — all of that points to something artificial.

Exactly.
And that’s what gets everyone fired up — because it’s not just random hits anymore.
It’s a pattern.

Right.
And you can tell that even Craig was smiling in that clip.
You never see Craig smile.

Yeah, when Craig’s smiling, that’s when you know it’s real.

Now, right after that, they cut to that line — “It’s a billion-dollar treasure.”
Yes!

Now, we don’t know who actually said that, because you never see their face.
That could easily be some fancy editing again.

Exactly — that’s the kind of Prometheus magic we were talking about.
They love doing that.

But you know what?
Even if that line was just for dramatic effect, the tone of everyone in that room — it tells you they found something substantial.

I agree.
Something that changed the conversation.
You could see it in their eyes — the mood in that War Room was completely different.

Yes, you could feel it.
It wasn’t “maybe” anymore — it was “we have something.”

Exactly.

Now, remember when they showed that quick shot of the wash plant running?
Oh yeah, yeah.
Lots of dirt, lots of heavy material going through it.

That tells you they’re processing a lot of spoils — more than usual.
Which usually means they hit a productive layer.

Correct.
And I did notice too, you could see Scott Barlow and Billy working together at that wash plant.
When those two are shoulder-to-shoulder, something’s up.

Yep. They only bring in the A-team when there’s gold in the gravel.

Exactly.

And you could see — there’s a quick flash of a little shiny piece, looked like metal, right in the sluice.
Oh yeah, I caught that.
And the way they lingered on it — that wasn’t random.

No, it wasn’t.
That’s why I think we’re finally going to see some tangible finds this season — not just theories and wood.

I think you’re right.
I think the data, the drilling, the scanning — it’s all converging this year.
And that’s why Marty said, “This is the year we solve it.”

And that’s a bold statement for him.

It really is.
So, I’m cautiously optimistic, but boy, if they do find a chamber, everything changes.

Everything changes.
We’ve gone from searching for tunnels to standing on top of the vault.

Exactly.
And maybe that “billion-dollar baby” title isn’t an exaggeration after all.

Now, shifting gears a little bit — let’s talk about Lot 5.

Oh, yes.
That’s one of the most intriguing areas this year.

Absolutely.
Lot 5 has always been interesting, but this season, it looks like it’s about to steal the show.

You can see in the promo — Rick and Laird are standing over that big excavation pit.
They’re both leaning in, and Laird’s got that look on his face — the “archaeologist’s grin.”

Yeah, that one.
He doesn’t smile like that unless he’s onto something.

Exactly.
And you can hear Rick say, “This changes everything.”
That’s a big statement coming from him.

It sure is.
You don’t hear Rick say that lightly.

So, what do we see in that pit?
Looks like layered stonework — not random rocks.
It looks placed.

That’s what caught my eye too.
You can see straight edges, corners — almost like the foundation of something.

Yeah, like an old wall or some kind of constructed box feature.
And they said in the narration — “a mysterious structure uncovered on Lot 5.”

Right.
Now, we’ve heard that before, but this time it actually looks like a proper structure.

Exactly.
And remember, they found those fragments of pottery and that piece of old leather nearby last season?

Yes.
And that piece of pottery dated back to the late 1500s, if I’m not mistaken.

That’s right.
So, if this structure is connected to that same layer — it could predate the Money Pit entirely.

Which means whatever they were doing there — it was happening before anyone even started digging for treasure.

Right.
And I noticed something else.
When the drone shot pans out — you can see how close that dig site is to the swamp.

Exactly!
It’s right on that ridge, between the upland and the marshy area.

That’s a strategic spot — not random.
If you were building something to hide or move materials, that’s exactly where you’d put it.

Exactly my thought.
High enough to stay dry, but close enough to access the swamp or the water system.

Right.
And you can see a cart path or an old roadbed just faintly running through that area.

Yes!
I saw that too.
And we know from previous surveys that there were at least two old wagon paths leading down toward the swamp.

So, if this was some kind of storage building, or even a staging area, that would make perfect sense.

Totally.
And in the promo, Rick says, “We might be looking at where it all began.”
That gave me chills.

Same here.
Because that line — that’s not about the Money Pit, that’s about origin.

Exactly.
The people who were there before anyone else — the ones who set this all up.

And right after that, they show a close-up of a small metal artifact being brushed off.
Looked like a decorative fitting — maybe bronze.

Yes, I paused on that.
Could be a piece of jewelry or a clasp — maybe even a button.
Definitely not modern.

No.
The patina on that thing screamed “old.”

Yeah, and the look on Emma Culligan’s face — she was examining it closely.
When the lab gets involved that quickly, you know it’s interesting.

Absolutely.
She doesn’t come out to the field unless it’s worth testing.

Exactly.

And then, we hear Laird say, “This is not what I expected to find here.”
That’s classic.

Yes!
Which means whatever it was — it didn’t fit his archaeological expectations for the area.

Right.
So maybe it wasn’t a domestic structure at all.

That’s where my head’s at too.
It might be industrial — like something used for storage, trade, or maybe even concealment.

And don’t forget — they found that piece of worked stone that looked like a cornerstone.
Yes.
Perfectly squared and fitted.

Exactly.
So, if there’s masonry like that on Lot 5, it could connect to the same kind of craftsmanship seen in the Garden Shaft area.

Right — that European-style precision.
Yep.
Which brings us back to that Medieval Intentions episode title.

Exactly.
If those finds date to the same period, that ties everything together.

Right.
The Templar theory, the pre-Columbian contact theories — all of that suddenly gets a boost.

Exactly.
And that’s why this season feels different — because the evidence is finally cross-linking.

You’ve got the structure on Lot 5, the solution channel under the Money Pit, the artifacts dating back hundreds of years — it’s all converging.

Right.
They’re not chasing random clues anymore.
They’re connecting dots.

Exactly.
And even Marty, in that interview snippet, said — “For the first time, we can see how this all might fit together.”

Yes.
That’s the line that got me most excited.

Me too.

Then, they cut to the swamp.
Classic swamp scene — Billy in the excavator, Rick and Gary standing by the edge.

Oh yeah.
And you can see them pulling up more wooden planks — clearly man-made.

Right.
They almost looked like part of a walkway or platform.

Exactly.
And you hear Gary say, “This could’ve been a dock.”

That’s right!
And then Rick says, “A dock… or something more.”

Yeah.
And we’ve been saying that for years — that the swamp might’ve been a harbor or entry point.

Exactly.
So, if Lot 5 was the storage area, and the swamp was the landing zone — that ties together perfectly.

Exactly.
That’s why the geometry of the island has always fascinated me.

Everything lines up like a plan — not random.

Exactly.
That’s what makes me think this wasn’t an accident of nature.
It was engineered.

Yes.
And if it was engineered, someone had serious knowledge and purpose.

Right.
And the question becomes — who had that kind of skill back then?

Exactly.
That’s where the Templar and European influence theories come back into play.

Right.
Because they had the maritime technology, the stoneworking knowledge, and the resources.

Exactly.
And remember — the symbols carved on some of the artifacts found before match European medieval styles.

Correct.
Especially that cross and the lead artifact from the Money Pit area.

Right.
So, if similar material shows up on Lot 5, that would be massive confirmation.

Exactly.

And that’s where the promo ends — with Rick looking down at the ground, smiling, and saying softly,
“We might finally be close.”

Yep.
Chills, man.
Every time.

Every single time.

Alright, so let’s talk about that title — “Billion Dollar Baby.”

Now, when you hear that, you know it’s not just clickbait.
There’s got to be something of real value involved.

Exactly.
They wouldn’t name an episode like that unless something shiny came out of the ground.

Right.
And in the promo, you can clearly see Gary holding something up — and he says,
“Oh mate, that’s gold!”

Yes!
That’s the one that had me rewinding like ten times.

Same here.
And you know Gary — he’s excited about a square nail, but when he hits gold, he really hits gold.

Oh yeah.
He’s got that tone in his voice — not guessing, he knows what he’s looking at.

Exactly.
And when he says “That’s gold,” you can trust him.

So, let’s break down what we saw.
It looked small — maybe a fragment, maybe a coin.

Right, a thin piece, kind of irregular, like it had been hammered or pressed.

Yes, and it was definitely yellow — not brass, not copper.
True gold color.

And you can see Rick’s reaction — he just stops talking.
That doesn’t happen often.

Exactly.
Rick goes quiet, and Gary just grins.

Then you hear that line in the narration:
“Could this be proof that treasure really exists on Oak Island?”

Classic narration line, but this time it actually fits.

Exactly.
Because we’ve seen lead, silver, and other trace metals before — but if this is actual gold, that’s the game changer.

Right.
And remember last season when Dr. Spooner said the results were showing “gold in solution”?

Yes.
He said there was evidence of gold molecules in the water down in the Money Pit area.

Exactly.
So if they’re now pulling up physical gold, that could confirm his data from last year.

That would be incredible.
It would mean that whatever’s down there isn’t just theory — it’s real metal, possibly a hoard.

Exactly.
And that ties perfectly into the “Billion Dollar Baby” title.

Right.
Now, we also saw that scene where Marty’s holding a small glass vial — looks like it has sediment or metal flakes inside.

Yes!
And he says something like,
“If this is what I think it is, it changes everything.”

That line right there — chills.

Exactly.
And he looks right at Rick after saying it — like he’s confirming something they’ve both been hoping to hear for years.

Right.
You can tell they’ve been chasing this specific kind of evidence.

Exactly.
Because they’ve always said — “find the treasure, not just clues.”

Yep.
And now, it looks like they might actually have a piece of it.

I mean, think about it — they’ve spent years finding artifacts around the treasure, but not the treasure itself.
If this is actual bullion or coin, that’s history in the making.

Exactly.

Now, there’s another moment in that promo — you see them at the lab.
Emma’s looking through the microscope, and she says,
“This composition is unusual.”

Yes.
That tells me they analyzed the metal and found it wasn’t a modern alloy.

Right.
And you can see her screen for just a second — looks like an elemental breakdown chart.

Yep.
And you can make out “Au” on the chart.

Exactly — “Au,” the symbol for gold.

That’s the confirmation right there.

Yes, and that’s why I think this isn’t just hype.
They really did find something valuable.

Exactly.
Even the way the promo music changes when that scene hits — it shifts from mystery to triumph.

Right.
You can feel the tone — this isn’t just another “maybe.”

Exactly.
And then Marty says,
“After all these years, it finally makes sense.”

Yes.
That’s a powerful line.
Because it implies that this find ties all their previous work together.

Right.
It connects the geoscience, the metal detection, and the archaeology.

Exactly.
So it’s not just a random gold flake — it fits the bigger story.

And that’s what makes this season different.

Exactly.
They’re not just digging holes anymore — they’re connecting a pattern that points to treasure storage and transport.

Right.
And that fits perfectly with the theory about the flood tunnels feeding into the Money Pit area.

Exactly.
If the gold traces were carried through those tunnels, it explains why the water samples showed precious metals.

Right.
And maybe this “billion-dollar baby” refers to the entire system — not just one artifact.

Exactly.
It could mean they’ve finally confirmed the island was used to store immense wealth.

And that’s not hyperbole.
If it’s true, that would easily amount to billions in today’s value.

Exactly.
Especially if it ties back to the missing Templar or Spanish treasure.

Right.
And remember, even Spooner said — “There’s something metallic down there that shouldn’t be there.”

Yes.
And now they’re starting to see it, not just detect it.

Exactly.
That’s the biggest shift this season — seeing instead of speculating.

Totally agree.
You can sense it in every frame — everyone’s energy is different.

Exactly.
Even Rick looks lighter — hopeful.
That’s not something we’ve seen for a while.

Right.
After 12 seasons, they finally look like a team that’s closing in.

Exactly.
And that’s why I think “Billion Dollar Baby” might go down as one of the most important episodes in the entire series.

I agree.
Because if they confirm gold on camera — even just a small piece — that’s validation for decades of work.

Exactly.
And you know they’ll follow that up immediately with more testing, scanning, and probably more caissons.

Oh, absolutely.
You don’t stop when you hit gold.

Right.
You double down.

Exactly.

And I can’t wait to see what happens in the next episode after that — “Medieval Intentions.”

Same here.
Because if “Billion Dollar Baby” shows the find, “Medieval Intentions” probably explains who put it there.

Exactly.
And that’s where the history and mystery collide.

Alright, so let’s move on to the next one — “Medieval Intentions.”

That title alone says a lot.

Exactly.
When you hear Medieval, you immediately think Templars, relics, and old-world craftsmanship.

Right.
And when you add Intentions — that suggests purpose.
Someone didn’t just end up on Oak Island by accident.

Exactly.
It implies planning — design — a mission.

And you know who was known for that kind of long-term planning?
The Templars.

Exactly.
The Templars didn’t move without strategy.
If they built something, it had meaning.

Right.
And that fits perfectly with what we’ve been seeing lately — artifacts that predate colonial times.

Yes.
Like that lead cross, the pottery fragments, and the trade beads.
Those all scream medieval European origin.

Exactly.
And this new find — the green pottery — it’s not indigenous.
That color didn’t exist in local materials.

Right.
That pigment was European, and it matches colors found in Norse and early Templar relics.

Exactly.
And that’s why “Medieval Intentions” might be more than just a cool name — it’s a clue to who did all this.

Right.
Now, in the promo, you can see Rick talking with Doug, and there’s a map on the table.
They’re pointing to Lot 8.

Yes.
Lot 8 again — that same spot we’ve been talking about.

Exactly.
And Rick says something like,
“This could be older than anything we’ve ever found here.”

Right.
That’s huge.

Exactly.
Because that means we’re not just talking about colonial-era settlers or pirates anymore.
We’re talking pre-Columbian, potentially 12th or 13th century.

Yes.
And remember, Gretchen — the Templar historian — was spotted on the island this year.

Exactly.
That tells you something.
They wouldn’t bring her in unless they had something medieval to analyze.

Right.
She’s not there for modern pottery.

Exactly.
She’s there because they’ve uncovered something that ties directly to Templar symbology or craftsmanship.

And in one frame, you can see her looking at a carved stone — circular, with a cross pattern.

Yes!
That shot went by quick, but it looked deliberate.

Exactly.
It wasn’t random erosion — it looked carved with intent.

And that fits perfectly with “Medieval Intentions.”

Right.
And remember when we talked about that possible Masonic or Norse artifact from Lot 8?
That bronze or copper plate?

Yes.
It had engravings that could match either Norse runes or early Christian symbols.

Exactly.
And if those markings align with known Templar designs — we’re talking game changer.

Right.
Because that would mean Oak Island wasn’t just used for hiding treasure — it was part of a spiritual or secret mission.

Exactly.
It ties into the whole theory that the Templars fled Europe and brought their knowledge, wealth, and relics to the New World.

Right.
And if this pottery and cross and metalwork all date to the same era, it’s the first real physical link.

Exactly.
You can speculate about maps and legends all day, but when you have artifacts, that’s evidence.

And that’s what this season is building toward — evidence that the island’s mystery goes back to medieval times.

Exactly.
And not just any medieval period — but the height of the Templar Order, around the 1300s.

Right.
That’s when the Templars were being persecuted, right?

Exactly.
1307 — Friday the 13th, when King Philip IV ordered their arrest.
Many escaped, and the theory goes that some of them took their treasures and knowledge across the sea.

And Oak Island fits that theory like a glove.

Exactly.
The tunnels, the flood systems, the underground engineering — that’s Templar-level precision.

Right.
You can see it in how they built their European fortresses and cathedrals — same geometry, same purpose-driven layout.

Exactly.
And now the team is realizing the patterns on Oak Island match those medieval design principles.

Right.
And when Rick says,
“It’s all starting to make sense,”
you can tell he’s not exaggerating.

Exactly.
It’s like the island’s features are revealing a blueprint — something intentional, not random.

Right.
And Doug even said in one of his interviews,
“This site has planning behind it — engineering, not luck.”

Exactly.
So the medieval theme isn’t just historical flavor — it’s the underlying key to understanding everything.

Right.
And that brings us back to the name — Medieval Intentions.
The intention might not have been just to hide gold.

Exactly.
It might have been to preserve something — knowledge, relics, maybe even sacred items.

Right.
Like the Ark, or the Holy Grail, or sacred texts.

Exactly.
Things too important to destroy, but too dangerous to leave in Europe.

And that’s the Templar way — protect at all costs, hide in plain sight.

Exactly.
And what better hiding place than a remote island off the coast of Nova Scotia?

Right.
Hard to reach, easy to guard, and nobody would suspect it.

Exactly.
So when you see these clues stacking up — the medieval artifacts, the engineered tunnels, the cross —
it all points in one direction.

Right.
This wasn’t a pirate’s pit.
It was a planned operation with purpose.

Exactly.
An intention — a medieval intention.

Right.
And that’s why I think this episode will dive deep into both the history and the physical evidence.

Exactly.
You’ll see the archaeologists studying the finds, you’ll see the historians connecting the dots,
and you’ll hear Rick, Marty, and Doug finally saying —
“This might go back further than anyone ever thought.”

Yes.
And that’s the moment the Oak Island mystery stops being legend —
and becomes history.

Exactly.
And that’s why this episode’s going to be one of the most talked about this season.

Absolutely.
Between the Templar angle and the possibility of medieval artifacts, this could redefine everything.

Exactly.
And we’re here for it.

You bet we are.

Alright, next up — “The Smoking Gun.”

That title alone gives me chills.

Exactly.
Because every mystery, every case — always leads to that one moment,
the piece of proof that makes everything undeniable.

Right.
And for Oak Island, after all these years, that’s what they’ve been chasing.

Exactly.
Not just clues, not theories — a smoking gun.

Right.
And the promo starts with that line from Marty,
“Take it to the bedrock.”

Yes!
When he says that, you know they’re about to go all in.

Exactly.
You don’t go to bedrock unless you think something’s actually there.

Right.
Because that’s the end of the line.
If there’s anything buried, that’s where it sits.

Exactly.
And then you see the caisson turning, water spraying,
and the team all watching in silence.

Yeah, no joking, no small talk — everyone’s dead serious.

Exactly.
That’s the vibe you get when something big is about to happen.

And then Gary shouts,
“Hold on — that’s metal!”

Yes!
That moment — you can hear the change in tone.

Exactly.
And they pull up that chunk — muddy, rough, but you can see the shape.

Right.
Looked rectangular — like a chest plate, or even part of a box.

Exactly.
And you can hear Rick say softly,
“Could this be it?”

Yeah, and the narrator immediately cuts in —
“After years of searching, the team may have found the proof they’ve been waiting for.”

Exactly.
That’s not random phrasing.
They’re framing it as confirmation.

Right.
And you see the artifact go straight to the conservation tent.
Laird’s there, Emma’s there, even Marty’s watching close.

Exactly.
And Emma says,
“This metal’s composition isn’t modern.”

Yes.
That’s the line that stood out to me.
Because she doesn’t speculate — she states it.

Exactly.
And you can see the testing equipment behind her —
spectrometer, microscope, data charts.

Right.
And one of the graphs clearly shows “Ag” and “Au.”

Yes — silver and gold.

Exactly.
So whatever they found, it’s not just iron debris.
It’s precious metal.

Right.
And then they cut to Marty,
and he says,
“We’ve been waiting for this moment for a very long time.”

Yes.
And his voice cracks a little — you can feel the weight of it.

Exactly.
It’s not excitement — it’s relief.

Right.
Because after more than a decade of drilling,
they finally have something tangible.

Exactly.
And that’s why this episode’s called The Smoking Gun.

Right.
It’s the proof — the connection between all the clues.

Exactly.
And you can tell by the sequence that this find links back to the earlier episodes —
Lot 5, the swamp, the medieval artifacts.

Right.
Because they show quick flashbacks — the pottery, the cross, the gold flake —
all leading up to this moment.

Exactly.
That’s storytelling, but also chronology.
They’re showing the evidence trail.

Right.
And Doug even says,
“It’s all connected — every piece.”

Yes.
And that line — “It’s all connected” — that’s been Rick’s motto since season one.

Exactly.
So when Doug says it now, it’s like everything’s coming full circle.

Right.
And then we get that drone shot —
zooming out from the Money Pit, over the causeway,
and Rick’s voice saying,
“The island’s secrets are finally revealing themselves.”

Yes.
That gave me goosebumps.

Same here.
Because for the first time, it doesn’t sound like hope — it sounds like conclusion.

Exactly.
The kind of tone you hear right before the big reveal.

Right.
And that’s what makes “The Smoking Gun” feel like a turning point.

Exactly.
Even the pacing of the edit — slower, more deliberate.
Less theory, more evidence.

Right.
And you can see the team standing together by the shaft,
the sun setting behind them,
no music — just quiet.

Exactly.
That silence says everything.

Right.
It’s the moment they’ve all been waiting for.

Exactly.
And you can see Rick close his eyes for a second —
like he’s taking it in.

Right.
Because no matter what they find from here,
that moment proves it was all worth it.

Exactly.
Years of searching, millions spent,
countless theories — all leading to that one piece of metal pulled from bedrock.

Right.
And that’s why the title fits perfectly —
because once you find the smoking gun,
there’s no going back.

Exactly.
It’s not about believing anymore — it’s about knowing.

Right.
And that’s the difference between mystery and history.

Exactly.
And I think that’s the whole point of this season —
to finally turn mystery into history.

Couldn’t have said it better.
