Baby Blairs Arrival, Christmas Gifts, and New Motivation

We got Christmas here coming up so we have been uncles for a week as of today as of an hour ago question that was my question we’ve been sending out meat boxes like no other dude I’m not going to lie I spent 2 and 1/2 hours last night to rap 12 to 15 gifts to me I’m over the gifts and this may be because we’re broke as hell he’s got a whole new deep deeper level of respect for Casey imagine Cole and Casey and like Blair in the middle I would have Cole in here doing it and then just have she walk in with Blair like halfway hey y’all welcome to meet the mcb’s building a dynasty today Jesse and I are in the studio talking what is like to be new uncles we have been uncles for a week and 1 hour as of right now as of this recording and it’s been such a surreal experience getting to see Cole and Casey become new parents we’re going to go into that in depth and also just give you updates of what’s happening around the farm so saddle up and let’s get down and dirty with it morning good morning why have you been in overalls the last two or three podcasts we’ve recorded I we just always time it out on like the coldest day of it’s like 55 degrees every day except for the day we do podcasts like 30° yeah in like 30 m hour winds are you working outside or something today yeah I always working outside you look like a yeah really I thought I matched like the black to the black and no I mean it looks good it looks good it just looks like you’re G to go cut an entire winter worth of firewood this was a dressed up bumber Jack I thought what are you doing today uh I’m supposed to be going back down to the city but I’m up here at the farm working on the 24 Highway project all the duplexes and everything oh yeah you are actually outside yeah okay down in the ditch hopefully blocked by the wind we’ll see have y’all not finished up all the underground over there uh no we had some issues with testing um oh no yeah so we we’ve been having to dig some stuff up and get it fixed like stress testing water lines or what uh sewer and water lines so sewer you basically put compressed air into it and then see how long if it’ll based on the length of the run but it has to hold for a certain amount of time and not been holding so is it the connection like where do you have the issues it’s been different every time we found like every run has had a problem that’s how bad it’s been but we fixed every problem it’s always just been one problem each run so like we take these two little balloon things and air them up on each end block the ends of the tub so like essentially a sewer line you have like a big pipe was it 12 or 24 in uh yeah it ranges all over but and you’re a Ballo each theber to then put compressed a in it to see how long it exactly yeah so we got balloons on each end we’ll fill it up and it’s never a good sign when it goes down right away you’re like here we go so we leave a balloon on one end and we’ll take the other balloon and move it 10 feet and move it 10t figure out what part of the PIP that we’re not just digging up the entire thing so and we’ve actually found every problem so far and now they’re all testing out so were the pipes already underground like 13 foot underground so you have to redig Yeah Yeah question would it made sense to test before you cover up that was my question you cannot do that with the waterline it has to be back filled which I would assume would probably be the same with the sewer but that makes no sense to me because why would you not want to test it before you do all the work and covering it up with the water line it’s putting that much pressure in it oh I see cuz you’re putting that much weight on top of it the sewer I think I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to and it’s such a pain cuz the sewer is obviously weight deeper so yeah whether it’s like cuz we have laterals that’ll go out to the duplexes so like there’s been like a broken cap and that’s all it takes like maybe the cap got hit by a dirt clot or something or a rock fell when they were back fing landed on the pipe and cracked the te has it always been connection joints that are the issues or like there’s never actually been just like a straight part of the pipe that’s broke no no it’s always been some sort of te or connection or cap or something like that so but we’ve got through I think all the sewer and it’s all fixed and then the waterline had a gasket that got ripped so which we got lucky finding that just you know little things like that honestly I’m glad I’m not working down there on that job yeah it’s a it’s quite the underground project but you learn a lot on projects like that yeah I guarantee you do well I know over I mean especially leading up to this week we got Christmas here coming up by the time this episode airs it’ll be day before Christmas Christmas Eve maybe yeah um and uh we’ve been sending out meat boxes like no other um we had a bunch of corporate orders had a bunch of personal orders seems like everyone’s getting their meat delivered here right for the Christmas holiday and New Year’s holiday so it’s um it’s been good we’ve been scaling up obviously with scale comes more problems um so we’ve been taking those as they come and trying to solve them the best way we know how um it just seems like any single thing you do like it never goes smoothly yeah that’s like you have to do the work five times to get it done it does seem like that with every aspect all of our work so like do you have like a which I haven’t been on the website my bad but do you have like a Christmas delivery like cut off date like if you order by the 17th then it will for sure be delivered by christas so yeah this week was the last week to put in orders to guarantee Christmas delivery yeah because next week’s going to throw off I don’t even know if we’re going to ship because Christmas Eve and Christmas day um all of our shipping providers I don’t even know if they’re going to be shipping so I don’t trust it so we’re just going to wait till the following week to ship out so yeah it was this this week was the last week to put in orders to get them by Christmas dang well I won’t be getting meat for anybody this year well if you need it delivered I’m actually going up to the meat facility after this so I can grab some for you actually Casey texted me she’s like hey I needed to get my dad a Christmas present can you grab him a meat box that’s like I always wait till like literally the 23rd or 24th and then I get my presents done so I may have to do dude I am not going to lie I spent two and a half hours last night to wrap 12 to 15 gifts and it’s so frustrating I think this is something and it’s so weird because I think both you and I worked in high school at a gift wrapping booth for our entrepreneurship class and you learn learned so good like I remember back then my gifts I even do like the bow on top the string everything it looked perfect I knew how to measure I retained absolutely none of that information me too and now I am the worst gift rapper you have ever seen in your life it’s actually really hard cuz everything is different shaped and sized and we don’t have like the right I feel this is my excuse that I don’t have the right utensils I don’t have the double-sided tape I was going to say the doublesided tape the actual like feel like there was a better knife that we were using back then yeah and if you look at some of these gifts like the ends are exposed um it looks like a diaper that I like threw up and over the top of the gift and then just taped it down the best I could yeah I was so frustrated by the end of it I was like you know what this sucks trying to do it as a yeah but then you go and pay like to get them wrapped and they’re they’re not cheap to get wrapped either so it’s like I’m G to go with the ugly gift wrapping Christmas the the whole idea and I I know it goes both ways and shoot I’ve been trying to tell Mom Dad Galina like to me I’m over the gifts and this may be because we’re broke as hell but I’m like let’s just not do as like gifts this year let’s just do like hanging out as a family and cook and enjoy being enjoy time spent with each other yeah that’s perfectly fine with me most times if dad’s buying us gifts he goes to Sam’s Club and buys socks underwear thermals those flanel jackets yeah like all like the 10 I know every single Christmas from Dad I’m gonna get new boxers and new socks yep he does and he’s gonna buy them the day before Christmas day before and they’re all going to be separate every sock will be in a separate package like man that’s a lot of socks man yeah I have I have hundreds of pairs of socks from Dad over the years I’ll never run out of socks and I still use the same ripped one every day I don’t know why you know what’s bad is U not bad but I was trying to buy Casey a gift and Cole but mostly Casey and mostly Blair and I didn’t know what to get her so I went down the rabbit hole of like new mom stuff and I ended up finding like this by the time the sar’s will this Christmas she won’t listen to it anyway she won’t listen to it so I found like this website that makes like new mom stuff and there was like this like stylish it’s called a cocoon and it’s for like breastfeeding because you know how every time we’ve been over there Cole and Casey like every two hours like all right guys don’t look and they like hold up a blanket so yeah I got this cocoon thing that like you throw over the top of the baby and you can breastfeed but it’s actually stylish that’s a good idea actually I feel like I’ve seen those before yeah I’ve seen people wear them pretty much just a piece of fabric with a hole in it to put your head in yeah just to put the baby’s head to huh but yeah I learned more about it than I ever thought I would yeah you had to do some research for that then huh I did did I did and I got Blair some stuff too I guess I should get Blair some stuff I’ve never been in a baby store so I don’t know what they even I just ordered it online Etsy is a good spot to go 0 speaking of uh Blair there so we have been uncles for a we a week as of today as of an hour ago yeah one week in an hour one week and an hour we’ve been uncles what are your thoughts on that um it’s different than I mean it’s kind of what I was thinking but it’s also different than what I was thinking it’s weird seeing I guess it’s almost more weird seeing Cole like step up and like just be like all over like I know like that’s all he thinks about now I know which is what I was told would happen but it is wild they like yeah we’ve always heard that you know having a you know getting married doesn’t necessarily change your life having a kid will change your life and I can definitely see firsthand from Cole and Casey how that has changed Cole used to literally only talk about hunting and that was about it yeah and now all he talks about is Blair y I mean him and Casey like it’s been pretty neat seeing them become parents and um especially Casey like I have a newfound respect for women especially obviously young moms um and what they have to deal with what they have to go through not only during child birth but also after the fact and then seeing Casey step up and just be such a good mom to Blair I have a whole new respect for and I know Cole does as well yeah no he definitely does that’s all he’s been talking about lately because he was actually in the room so he got to see everything and seen how crazy crazy it can get when we walked in there about an hour after um they had Blair Cole’s face was Pure White he was like that was still in shock he was like that was quite honestly the most traumatic and wild experience I’ve ever seen in my life when he called me he’s like dude they pulled out just like a calf that get stuck I mean they turned her upside down and had her in all sorts of positions he’s like I didn’t know they treated people like that he said that he wasn’t he said that he wasn’t um looking at what was taking place but there was a TV that was off in the way the sunlight was glaring on the TV it was like a reflection it was like a mirror yeah and he said he looked up at the TV one time and he saw what was going on and he said he just about passed out I told him before I was like if you’re going to be in there don’t pass out cuz like that’s just more embarrassing for you like she’s over there giving birth and you’re passing out because you can’t handle it yeah I definitely think he um he’s got a whole new deep deeper level of respect for Casey after what they uh went through a week ago yeah he definitely does and it sounds like for the most part and every time I’ve been over there Blair has been awesome like letting them sleep I mean she does good feeding schedule they’re waking up every 3 hours to feed or whatever but other than that like whenever she’s not feeding she’s sleeping right along giving Cole and Casey the opportunity to sleep mhm yeah no she’s done good I’ve been there a couple nights CU they’re still living in my house living in your basement yeah yeah still there so and I never hear her cry during the night I hear him get up like Cole and Casey but Cole said he slept good but Casey’s the one that obvious has to get up and feed up and like opens one eye he’s like yep she’s y she’s good going to go back to bed I think Casey stayed up for like 72 hours consecutive there the day the night before she gave birth whenever she was induced and then the day after and yeah it was stressful yeah I can’t imagine that feeling oh well kudos to them for sure and Mom’s been obviously our mom has been staying up at your house too um she about moved her own uh personal clothing closet up to your house I don’t have much more space nobody else can move in Jess’s house that’s where the Jesse’s Farmhouse is where everyone’s staying at now but it’s been cool I mean it’s been really neat seeing the whole family get together and um I want to get Cole’s perspective obviously he’s not here today I think they had an appointment for blur down in the city but I want to get his perspective on what life has been like over the last week being a new dad and I know his entire world is flipped upside down in a very good way yeah it’s funny seeing him be a girl Dad too he’s wearing pink hoodies and oh I know that’s all I see him in anymore like you are Chang he’s embracing the girl dad thing he is 100% embracing it which is it’s just funny to see cuz all we talked about growing up was like we got to have a boy first we got to have a boy now he’s just full on a girl dad he loves being a girl dad I uh I was doing some Christmas shopping for Blair and I was Finding just all sorts of stuff let me show you I got her these check out those baby cowgirl boots oh my do they wear shoes when they were that young see I don’t know but I feel like they can’t walk no but I feel like if like a fashion statement here in the next couple months I ordered them so we’ll find out if Casey will put her in them she’s got some big feet and some big fingers she do big hands yeah she definitely has Casey’s hands she looks just like Cole yeah she does which is unfortunate but let’s hope she starts looking like Casey as she gets older yeah hopefully she grows out of that phase and looks more like Casey whenever she gets older yeah she does have some pretty old blue eyes I don’t know we need to get her in here on the the next podcast told me all babies have blue eyes is that true and then they start I wouldn’t know the first thing about babies I don’t either that’s just what the rumor yeah I have no idea but we need to get Cole Casey and Blair in here to tell their experience in giving birth and what being becoming new parents that’s a good idea felt like I know imagine Cole and Casey and like Blair in the middle I would have Cole in here doing it and then just have Casey walk in with Blair like halfway through to sit down have open chair ready for it’s been fun I mean gearing up for Christmas now with a new baby and the fam it’s definitely uh I’d say the biggest perspective change for us is I think it gives you a new motivation it definitely does give you a new motivation even as uncles that we didn’t necessarily have before it’s like why do you wake up and grind every single day why do you wake up and go to work every single day now you’re doing it for the next generation of your family yeah which is cool yeah that’s a good point yeah and I’m I’m sure Cole Will attest that I don’t know if I’ve seen the additional work ethic from Cole in the last week it’s coming it’s coming he’s still he’s just in his new dity whatever talking like he’s still here but yeah he calls me about 8 sounds like he just woke up yeah yeah that sounds like Cole yep but he didn’t get any sleep ton night before his way he always tells me I think he slept pretty good that’s what Casey tells me about yeah but which one is it did he sleep did he not sleep that’s all right that’s all right well anything else you got going on not really looking forward to the new year 2024 has been a warwind a lot of highs and a lot more lows it seems like so ready to move on from it 23 24 yeah godp speed theall I will not regret like I I will not miss you no I I won’t either I’m excited to see we’ve got some exciting opportunities I think that are going to be really cool down the pipeline I think that’ll really help us out and I’m excited to see where those take us yeah 20 25 is going to be a lot better yeah that’s the plan well guys I think that’s all we
