With Season 2 of The McBee Dynasty nearing its end on Bravo, Calah Jackson is speaking out about Steve McBee’s FBI investigation.

The second installment of the reality show found the family slowly opening up about the scandal — a scandal Jackson claims she knew about long before most of the family.

In fact, she says she was told what was happening by her boyfriend at the time, Steven McBee Jr., before he even let his brothers know.

According to Jackson, he confided in her, and it was for a good reason.

“I think that Steven’s reasoning for not telling his brothers [was] because he didn’t want them to take on any of the stress or worry he was having to deal with,” Jackson shares with Us Weekly.

“I definitely do think they would be, you know, offended or left out that he would tell me over his brothers because they’re such a close-knit family,” she adds.

How Long Did Calah Jackson Know About Steve McBee’s FBI Investigation?
Although news of Jackson and McBee’s breakup only recently surfaced as the moment aired on Bravo, the on-again, off-again couple have been separated since 2024.

The couple called it quits after filming wrapped for Season 2 at the end of last year.

Jackson was dating McBee when he learned of his father’s legal troubles, so she has known for quite some time. She tells the publication that he told her about it roughly six months before the rest of the family found out.

“Steven confided in me about it, and I was really his shoulder to lean on and help him go through those motions,” she explains.

What Are Steve McBee’s Legal Troubles?
McBee has pleaded guilty to his involvement in a multimillion-dollar insurance fraud scam while running the family business, McBee Farm & Cattle in Missouri.

He was accused of falsifying crop yield reports and crop usage.

In Nov. 2024 he was charged with one count of federal crop insurance fraud. His sentencing is scheduled for September.

The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys is currently airing on Bravo. Fans can watch Monday at 9PM ET or stream the next day on Peacock.

At this time, the show has not been renewed for a third season.

‘The Beverly Hillbillies’
Once Jed Clampett strikes oil on his property, his family’s lives are changed forever. The Beverly Hillbillies is the ultimate rags-to-riches story as the fictional Clampett family go from their impoverished home in the swamp to a mansion in Beverly Hills. The show follows widowed Jed, his daughter Ellie May, his mother-in-law and cousin Jethro as they navigate their new living arrangements among the “city folk.”

The Beverly Hillbillies first aired on Sept. 26, 1962, on CBS. After nine seasons the series finale aired on March 23, 1971. The show starred Buddy Ebsen, Irene Ryan, Donna Douglas, Max Baer Jr., Raymond Bailey and Nancy Kulp.

‘Dallas’
Dallas is a soap opera centered around the fictional Ewing family, who live on a cattle ranch called Southfork in Dallas, Texas. The family own a very successful oil company — Ewing Oil — and are incredibly wealthy. The show focuses on the relationship between Bobby Ewing and Pamela Barnes and their feuding families.

The show ran for 14 seasons and dominated the ratings for most of that time. Dallas premiered on April 2, 1978, and continued until the finale on May 3, 1991. The series starred Barbara Bel Geddes, Jim Davis, Patrick Duffy, Victoria Principal, Larry Hagman, Linda Gray and Charlene Tilton.

‘The Dukes of Hazzard’
Just a couple of good old boys on probation for running moonshine in rural Georgia. The Dukes of Hazzard follows cousins Bo and Luke Duke along with their family, cousin Daisy and Uncle Jesse. The boys have plenty of adventures evading the county commissioner, Boss Hogg, and his sheriff, Rosco P. Coltrane, in this action-comedy series.

The show ran for seven seasons on CBS. It premiered on January 26, 1979, and aired its finale on February 8, 1985. Dukes of Hazzard starred Tom Wopat, John Schneider, Catherine Bach, Denver Pyle, James Best and Sorrell Booke. Waylon Jennings provided the theme song and also provided narration for each episode.

‘King of the Hill’
In this animated comedy, Hank Hill is the patriarch of the Hill family, who reside in the fictional city of Arlen, Texas. Hank and his wife Peggy do their best to navigate life with their son Bobby, sticking to their conservative values in a world that is constantly trying to change them. The show features several notable names as character voices, including Tammy Wynette, who was the original voice of Hank’s mother, Tilly.

King of the Hill premiered on Jan. 12, 1997, and ran for 13 seasons. The last episode aired on Sep. 12, 2009; however, it has since been renewed at Hulu. The streaming platform announced the show’s revival on Jan. 21, 2023. King of the Hill stars Mike Judge, Kathy Najimy, Pamela Adlon, Johnny Hardwick, Stephen Root, and Mike Judge.

‘Reba’
Reba McEntire stars in Reba as Reba Hart, a recently divorced mom with quite the dysfunctional family. Comedy ensues as she navigates life with her estranged husband and his younger wife, Barbra Jean, who’s pregnant. To make matters worse, her 17-year-old daughter gets pregnant by her high school boyfriend.

Reba ran for six seasons after its premiere on the WB on Oct. 5, 2001. Its final episode aired on Feb. 18, 2007, after the show was canceled mid-season. Reba starred McEntire, Christopher Rich, Joanna Garcia, Steve Howey, Scarlett Pomers, Mitch Holleman and Melissa Peterman. McEntire recorded the theme song for the show, “I’m a Survivor.”

‘Longmire’
A modern western crime drama, Longmire follows Wyoming sheriff Walt Longmire and his staff as they investigate crimes in his area. Walt receives help from his daughter, Cady, in these investigations, as well as in his personal life after losing his wife. He must also navigate investigations with the tribal police on the reservations within his jurisdiction.

After premiering on June 3, 2012, Longmire aired on A&E for the first three seasons. When the network opted out of picking up a fourth season, Netflix jumped in and ran the show through season six. The final episode aired on Nov. 17, 2017. Longmire stars Robert Taylor, Kate Sackhoff, Lou Diamond Phillips, Adam Bartley, Cassidy Freeman and Bailey Chase.

‘Duck Dynasty’
This reality series follows the Robertson family and their wildly successful duck hunting business in West Monroe, Louisiana. Willie Robertson and his family own the multimillion-dollar sporting empire known as Duck Commander. Duck Dynasty captures all of their wild and crazy antics, while also showcasing just how close-knit this family is.

The A&E series premiered on March 21, 2012, and ran for 11 seasons before ending on March 29, 2017. The show featured brothers Phil and Si Robertson with Phil’s sons Alan, Jase, Willie and Jep. Phil’s wife Kay and Willie’s wife Korie also starred on the series, in addition to Willie’s daughter, Sadie.

‘Nashville’
There’s drama in Music City. Like the title suggests, Nashville centers around Nashville, following various artists at all levels of their careers. Rayna Jaymes is the queen of country music, while Juliette Barnes — although wildly popular — wants to be taken seriously as a country singer-songwriter. The show features other artists who will stop at just about nothing to succeed in this 10-year town.

Nashville premiered on ABC on Oct. 10, 2012. The network ran the series for four seasons before opting out of a fifth season. CMT picked it up and continued the story through seasons five and six, with the finale airing on July 26, 2018. The show stars Connie Britton, Hayden Panettiere, Clare Bowen, Eric Close, Charles Esten, Jonathan Jackson and Sam Palladio. Nashville also featured several cameos from real country artists including Brad Paisley, Luke Bryan, Chris Young and more.

‘Fixer Upper’
Fixer Upper could have been a sitcom with the smart-as-a-whip Joanna Gaines renovating old homes with her goofy, lovable husband, Chip Gaines. The couple are a match made in heaven, with Joanna designing the homes and Chip handling the construction as the pair fix up homes in Waco, Texas — the city where they met and now raise their family.

The reality series premiered on HGTV on May 23, 2013, and ran for five seasons. The final episode ran on April 3, 2018. Fixer Upper was revived in 2021 as Fixer Upper: Welcome Home. The reboot was short-lived, however, with just one season airing on the Gaines’ television network, Magnolia Network.

‘Yellowstone’
Yellowstone is a neo-western drama following the fictional Dutton family. The patriarch, John Dutton, owns the largest ranch — dubbed the Yellowstone — in the United States. With threats on their property from the Broken Rock Indian Reservation, Yellowstone National Park and developers, the Duttons will stop at nothing to protect what’s theirs.

Yellowstone premiered on Paramount Network on June 20, 2018, and is currently midway through Season 5. The series stars Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille and Gil Birmingham. Due to its popularity, creator Taylor Sheridan has written several spinoffs, including 1883 and 1923.

‘1883’
The first of many Yellowstone spinoffs, 1883 shows how the Duttons made it — or didn’t make it — to Montana. The western drama series centers around James and Margaret Dutton with their daughter Elsa as they make the dangerous journey from their home in Tennessee to Oregon. Their journey picks up in Fort Worth, Texas, and ends with the family settling in Montana on what will eventually become the Yellowstone Ranch.

1883 streamed exclusively on Paramount+ for a single 10-episode season. The premiere arrived on Dec. 19, 2021, with the finale dropping on Feb. 27, 2022. The show starred Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Isabel May, Sam Elliott and LaMonica Garrett. Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson also had appearances in the Taylor Sheridan series.

‘1923’
The next chapter in the Yellowstone prequel saga, 1923 finds the Duttons navigating difficult times on the Yellowstone Ranch. The family endures the hardships of a drought, Prohibition and the beginnings of the Great Depression. Montana — where the ranch is located — experienced the devastation of the Depression years before the stock market crash of 1929.

This western drama stars Helen Mirren, Harrison Ford, Brandon Sklenar, Julia Schlaepfer, Jerome Flynn and Darren Mann. Isabel May makes her return as the narrator of the series. 1923 premiered on Paramount+ Dec. 18, 2022, and recently wrapped up its first season. Taylor Sheridan promises a second season is on the way, with a possible premiere coming either late 2023 or early 2024.
