A renowned America’s Got Talent judge simply got served with the aid of a 20-year-old rising talent, Darcy Lynn, a young ventriloquist and singer. Recently, she voiced her utter dissatisfaction with the way she was treated at one of the most watched shows in the United States. Who is Darcy Lynn?
Darcy Lynn Farmer is a young American ventriloquist and singer. Back in the spotlight, her acts have earned her plenty of praise and awards for her performances.

She was born in Oklahoma and had a love for making music from a young age, even though her shyness made it hard for her to perform in front of others. Inspired by ventriloquists like Terry Fator, she started training in ventriloquism and entered a local talent contest in 2014, performing with her first puppet. After doing well, she received training from other performers, which helped her win more contests in the following years.

Her parents also encouraged her to join the 2014 International Cinderella Scholarship Program, where she earned the title of International Minimus. At that event, she met Lisa Bonusy, an experienced young ventriloquist who inspired her to give ventriloquism a try.

Darcy Lynn first gained national attention in 2016 on the show Little Big Shots, but she became well-known when she won the 12th season of America’s Got Talent in 2017. Since then, she has been featured on various TV shows and has gone on numerous tours with her puppet characters, with her main character being the tuna, the rabbit.

With tips from Bon Acousti, Darcy practiced for a month before getting into America’s Got Talent, where she won first place. Impressed by her talents, ventriloquy instructor Gary Owen offered to help train her and became her business manager. She also started working with vocal coach Tiana Plens.

In the following year, she won top places in competitions like Oklahoma Kids and the Junior Department of Oklahoma’s Got Talent. She also won awards at American Kids in Branson, Missouri, including Entertainer of the Year. Before switching to homeschooling in 8th grade, Darcy attended Deer Creek Middle School in Edmond, Oklahoma. She even missed the first day of her seventh grade year because she was performing live on America’s Got Talent.

Darcy’s school life was soon transformed by her growing fame, as she captivated audiences far beyond the classroom. Who could have guessed just how far her talents would take her?

Stepping into the spotlight in March 2016, Darcy Lynn charmed viewers on Little Big Shots, performing the energetic “I Want to Be a Cowboy Sweetheart” along with her cowgirl puppet, Katie. That July, she made history at the Vent Haven Convention, becoming the first child ventriloquist to headline a night show during the convention’s 40-year run. She opened for famed ventriloquists Kevin Johnson and Todd Oliver.

Her growing stardom led her to the British version of Little Big Shots in March 2017, where she once again wowed audiences alongside Katie.

The summer of 2017 was a game-changer for Darcy when she entered America’s Got Talent on May 30th. She and her puppet Petunia performed all of their goals, and one. Their performance became a knockout, with Judge Melb even hitting the golden buzzer, catapulting Darcy directly into the quarterfinals. Within just 30 hours, Darcy’s act had become the most-watched video in AGT history, ultimately touching a Darcy of the fourth most popular YouTube trending video of the year.

Her subsequent live AGT look, performing “Who’s Loving You” with her puppet Oscar, was just as spectacular. Darcy followed this up in the semifinals with Edna Dornier, her puppet, for the soulful “You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman.” For her grand finale, she brought Petunia and Oscar together to perform “With a Little Help from My Friends,” wowing the judges so much that Simon Cowell optimistically predicted she’d win.

In a dramatic season end, Darcy took the stage with AGT alumni Terry Fader, and she did not just win. NBC confirmed she’d secured the most votes of any finalist in the show’s history.

Following her AGT victory, Darcy launched her Darcy Lynn and Friends live tour, initially planned for just five cities but quickly expanded to 52. Her shows drew large crowds, with a festive twist added for her holiday-themed performances, including “Rocking Around the Christmas Tree with Darcy Lynn and Friends,” which took place in November and December 2018.

The excitement continued back home in December 2017, where her iHot Media and KJ1 103-presented Darcy Lynn Homecoming Show sold out in a blazing 6 minutes. So many fans wanted to see her that extra shows were added. She kept the momentum going into New Year’s Eve, performing at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas with Fergie.

She brought Oscar back to Little Big Shots to perform the high-energy “Shout” by the Isley Brothers, and in May, she was a guest on Pickler and Ben.

In July, Darcy supported the Starkey Hearing Foundation Gala, and in August, she returned to AGT, giving a show-stopping performance of “Showoff” with Petunia.

Her appearances throughout 2018 were filled with holiday spirit and laughs. She joined Kids Baking Championship, sang “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” on Steve, and performed “Jingle Bell Rock” during NBC’s Christmas at Rockefeller Center. In December, she sang at the Grand Ole Opry, voiced a character named Daisy in Fancy Nancy, and headlined her own NBC special, Darcy Lynn: My Hometown Christmas.
