Want to be very transparent because this isn’t just for me. This will be for guys all around the world, you know. So, >> it’s not his hair.
>> When I was young, um, my hairstyle always had it back. Slick back. If you look at some of me old photos, I had the best hairline in the world. You know, >> I can’t imagine you with hair backwards.
I It would be >> interesting.
>> Probably only the last sort of five years. I’d probably say I started pushing it forward and not because I’m receding back. It’s more me hair started thinning. So, I found a hairstyle that looked good.
>> It’s a mind-boggling level of delusion to think that this looks good. Why are you doing this to yourself? It looks like a helmet. Like a World War I soldier with his helmet on his head.
>> It is that Jordy. It’s that North England kind of look. Yeah. No, that’s that’s bang on.
>> So English, but like so Essex as well, like with the teeth and the manicured eyebrows. They’re perfectly manicured eyebrows that gives her like a feminine look. Yeah, I thought he genuinely thought he was gay. I was not alone that I thought I also thought that >> they actually take care of themselves.
They work out and they take a long time to get ready and you know everything has to be perfect. They’re just a little bit more kind of prissy. I guess >> the mosting annoying thing was once again it’s Mike’s world and we’re just living in it.
>> Can you a mic for me and ask him what he is? What’s your type?
>> You could let us know.
>> Mike. Mike.
>> Oh my god. Yeah. Yeah. I’m gone.
>> Anyone? Is he Mike?
>> This motherucker is like, I need to do my hair. And just this really odd mentality for someone in their 30s.
>> I wouldn’t think it would take that long to do, would it?
>> Oh, he was he was always late. Always late. I would be like, can you go quickly get into your blocks? 45 minutes later.
>> How does one get Mike’s hairstyle?
>> You know what? You just wet, you wash your hair, bang the hair dryer on it, you know, make sure is it a forward comb motion.
>> No, you just literally give it a little bit of a hair dry all forward. And then with the fringe, this is the most important part, right? Cuz you want to fringe. Curling brush. Bang, bang, bang, bang. Put it in place. Little bit of dry shampoo just for a bit of texture. I will actually let everyone know out there if you aren’t using dry shampoo uh before hair straightening. This will actually help thicken your hair, you know. It will actually help for me. It actually helps. It allows me, it makes me hair look a little bit thicker, you know. Then blast a load of hairspray on it. And if that’s not enough, blast a little bit more.
>> One gentleman cannot have enough hairspray. I need to bring an extra 10 kg bag, you know, just to get all the hairspray on.
>> The boy brought six cans of hairspray to >> absolutely.
Yeah. And he did some upkeep throughout the day.
>> Oh, did he? Yes, he did.
>> Well, you have to. For me, a lot of people probably look at me and go, “Oh, he’s he’s probably not that insecure.
He’s very confident, very loud.” Well, at the end of the day, everyone’s got their own insecurities. It’s just as much as what this was an insecurity for me. You know what? This is always something that I’ve actually always wanted to talk about because it’s not just me out there who was in this situation. There’s millions of men out there who are also going through the same thing who who lose confidence and have this insecure. But it’s more than normal, you know? just about how you deal with it and how and how you you move forward and how you how there’s lo there’s so many things now out there with technology and hair transplants and minoxidil and different ways to actually stimulate blood flow in the hair that a lot of guys actually don’t know you know so if this is anything this is just to let everyone know that there is solutions out there you don’t actually have to just become baldy you know >> thank you for your honesty and your transparency I think you’re going to change some lives >> and that is hair by Mike Clay and Mark were very excited to get the cake you made.
>> The fact that the guests were happy with this cake really meant the world. So, you’ve got pineapple white cake.
>> Oh, pineapple.
>> Thank you.
>> You’re very welcome.
>> It’s really good. Love the cake.
>> Oh, it tastes like the pound cake.
>> It’s actually a good cake.
>> Congratulations, Mark and Clay.
>> Thank you, guys.
>> Well, it’s just always amazing to hire a galley hand and they actually invent cake right in front of your eyes. That’s great.
>> You know, like where has that been for the last thousand years, you know, >> we love her.
>> I know >> this praise from the guests just means so much in this moment because this has been an incredibly hard charter for me.
Like we were at the bottom of the barrel emotionally. So like any ounce of positive reinforcement was much needed.
But because it was my recipe and all of my ingredients and the fact that I made every single compound and every single tier to that cake and all she did was spackle icing on. We were all deeply proud of her. Well done, Ellie.
>> So, it was a joint effort.
>> Yeah, exactly.
>> I found that cake to be like an olive branch on Ben’s part.
>> I know you’re going to do a good job.
>> I’m going to do my best.
>> He was trying to extend an olive branch.
He knows uh I like making desserts and that makes me happy.
>> Do you have any dessert experience?
>> Actually, when I was growing up, my uh cousin had a dessert shop.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> So, every summer, my parents would send me off to work in a college vacation.
You know what’s the great thing about yaching?
>> The teamwork. We have a saying in yaching and is teamwork makes a dream work. And I feel like this is a great example.
>> It really does. I mean, I’m so glad that she guided me into that cake making because without it, we wouldn’t be eating cake.
>> It was a step in the right direction on his part. So, I took that as his version of apologizing and trying to make amends.
>> So, this is mid getting to mid-season.
You know, I’m feeling a little bit under pressure because my entire philosophy on the entire season is let’s get to understand each other for at least the first half of the season. I will pick up what I can to get us there. Okay. But then coming to the second half of the season, you guys better know what you’re doing. And I realize at some stage that gosh, if I walk off this boat, are the deck team who’ve been on board able to dock the boat without me? I was given the first opportunity to call us into dock. Joel had done it every other charter before. So I was the first time I was going to be doing it which was awesome.
>> Tenders are clear. That is your port entering the dock. Port midship 30 m dock.
>> That’s the learning I love in doing this job. Being given that responsibility and trying those things. That’s what you want to be as a deck hand being given those opportunities.
>> Remember Jason will be on this side. So you must be calling for it for as much as you can, but also on this corner.
>> So this is our first time doing this new system where um it’s not Joel on the radio, it’s someone else. It’s a great idea and I’m not one to say no. I want people to to learn as much as they can.
He’s been training his crew. So I look at this as a great opportunity to show that other people have to move into other positions and take responsibility.
>> I want people to succeed, you know.
>> Yeah. It’s kind of big responsibility that you have to make sure that all your fenders are down, everything going smooth that you don’t want to hit anywhere at all. It’s like scary, you know.
>> Yeah.
>> You’ve got a 60 m boat that weighs, you know, probably 1,800 to 2,000 gross tons. I’d say my learning was this thing, it’s not a case of it stops on a dime or whatever. when you’re cooling that distance, cool it a couple meters before whatever. Because by the time it actually like gets that momentum and swinging, you’ve already moved another five meters. So rather than saying when you’re 2 m from the edge of dock, saying stop, the boat’s not going to stop, then you need to say it 10 m before the dock because it’s easier to just buffer a little bit back if you need to rather than going bang into the dock. Remember, we’re in Canon. If anything happens to Jao, it’s not as easy just to fly someone in and replace Jouah. You know, it’s also J’s personality where he also wants to push people to learn. So, did Jo have a thought of being like, you know what, it’s not just about me also not being here. It’s also about >> let’s teach Eddie some let’s teach Eddie, let’s teach, let’s teach Mike, you know. So, it’s not about just Jo being away. It’s also about Jo’s personality and and trying to raise people up with them, you know. So, Oh, >> thanks, Mike.
