Mysterious Nuclear UFO Sightings | Expedition X | Discovery
Phil, you copy? I’ve got something to D.
Got something? You got something? What direction is it traveling?
East to west, so heading inland. It just disappeared on my end. Do you see it?
I can’t tell if there’s just something out of the corner of my eye.
I’ve got a big sunflare out of my eyes, so it’s kind of hard to see. Holy—um—wait, hang on.
I think I—what the—what is that?
Give me a second, I think I got something. It should be right by you.
Oh my God, it’s pretty far. Faint white dot moving across the sky.
What the hell? And there’s two jets coming in right now. You seeing that?
So we have two jets—oh my God, I think we see it. It’s a white dot slowly moving across the sky.
Are you seeing those two jets come across right now too?
I caught something on the dab, it was headed towards the west.
I don’t see it with my eyes, but I mean, we’ve got it. I’m recording.
What the hell is happening up here?
One of the most important engineers in Japan’s history took the study of UFOs very seriously.
Engineer Jiro Hoshi designed the Zero fighter plane used in the attack on Pearl Harbor,
and he also researched UFOs. Hoshi’s fascination with flying saucers began, as it did for many,
when he heard the account of American pilot Kenneth Arnold.
Arnold was jetting over Washington State on June 24th, 1947, when he observed a string of nine
bright saucer-like objects. Shockingly, the unidentified objects appeared to travel at 12,200 mph—
twice the speed of any plane at the time.
News of Arnold’s sighting spread around the world and inspired the term “Flying Saucer.”
June 24th became known as World UFO Day, and to celebrate it, in 2021, the International UFO Lab in Eno first opened its doors.
Jess, I think I lost it. I have no idea where we just saw up here.
I’m losing you. I’m sorry, I can’t copy. I think we’re too far.
How are we doing on flight time? We got to go. We going to go back?
Jess, not sure if you copy me, but we’re running low on fuel. We got to head back.
All right, go ahead and land. Heading back.
Oh yeah, they’re out. We got it on the dep though, and I swear to God I heard Phil say that he got something, so I think we’re good.
It just looked like a white kind of metallicy dot up in the sky, and at first I thought maybe just a planet reflecting,
or a satellite reflecting, but it was moving at a steady pace.
And then these two jets go right across from it.
As the UFO phenomenon has grown over the decades, so too has the international response trying to engage them.
One of the most famous examples of fighter jets tracking an unidentified aerial phenomenon is this video of a 2004 incident,
since dubbed the Tic Tac event.
Aboard a US Navy aircraft over the Pacific, the pilots encountered a cylindrical flying object moving at unfathomable speeds.
But the growing wave of aerial engagement is not exclusive to the US military.
In early 2023, it was reported that there have been 45 separate incidents where the Russian military has scrambled fighter jets to follow UFOs.
Now, was that just coincidental that that happened to be the flight path of those jets? I don’t know,
but then it also makes me wonder if the Japanese military just scrambled something to try to figure out what’s up there.
I don’t know what’s happening right now.
