New Oak Island THEORIES That Are Actually True
New Oak Island THEORIES That Are Actually True

There’s one island that has um like this crazy hole in the ground that was made by pirates.
The treasure of Oak Island has stumped hundreds of people [music] for over 200 years.
>> Today is the last day. There’s no question about it. For centuries, different [music] people from all over the world and from various walks of life have voyaged to Oak Island in hopes of finding [music] this mysterious treasure. Thanks to the Lega brothers, their team of experts, and the universally loved TV show called The Curse of Oak Island, viewers all over the world get to watch as they’ve all discovered some Oak Island theories that are actually true. What theories [music] could be true on the island? What secrets does the island hold? Join us as we explore some jaw-dropping theories about Oak [music] Island that were found to be strangely true. The Aztec gold that [music] was hidden. The first astonishing theory about Oak Island [music] is related to the Aztecs.
>> Looking for treasure in the American Southwest, particularly in modern-day Arizona. In a recap of moments on the set of The Curse of Oak Island, John, one of the experts on the Laggina Brothers team, said, “Before we [music] try to find out what treasure is here, we have to figure out who did the work in Oak Island. I believe that this was the work of [music] the Aztec Empire.” He continued, “I believe about 800 [music] AD. It was the Mayan ship that came ashore.” He believed that the Mayans discovered a special kind of clay in the sediments. To the Mesoamericans, this was worth more than all the gold in the world. He said that the [music] Southshore shaft was the first shaft to be put down to establish a mine on the island.
>> The significance of the Southshore shaft was that was the first shaft put [music] down to establish a mine here.
>> The Aztecs found the blue clay that they wanted. They knew that they could mine it. They probably put a shaft in about 8 ft round [music] and they would have hit the clay at about 50 ft. It was all basic mining. The extent of the ventilation there [music] would have to be 300 ft. And as such, there would have to be a ventilation shaft that was most probably hidden. So when the Aztecs went to the island to hide the treasures, [music] they knew that there was an old mine there that they had remodeled. They made it into a trap. John kept on saying, “At the absolute bottom of Nolan’s Cross, I believe that the Aztec [music] treasure is not here. It’s just like a couple hundred yards over there.” >> And when the Aztecs came to hide the treasures, they knew there was an old mind here. They remodeled it and made it into a trap. In fact, they made the whole mine into a trap.
>> The great Mesoamerican civilization [music] known as the Aztecs or Mexico flourished in central Mexico between the 14th and the beginning of the 16th century. Their tale is one of remarkable progress, historical triumphs, and unexpected [music] collapse. There is still some doubt surrounding the Aztec’s precise beginnings. They most likely moved to the Valley of Mexico [music] in the 13th century after migrating from northwest Mexico. They were once a marginalized group [music] that honored more powerful citystates like Ascapotalo.
According to legend, the Mexica [music] built Tenno Titlan, their capital city, on an island in Lake Texoko [music] as a result of a heavenly vision they saw. It was an eagle perched on top of a cactus eating a snake. Tennoitlan, which was constructed on stilts and [music] connected to the mainland by channels, turned into an architectural and engineering masterpiece. A significant year was [music] 1428.
The Mexico joined the Aztec triple alliance with Texoko and Telakapan, two more urban states. By capturing nearby lands, this powerful union grew its influence [music] and built a sizable empire. The Aztecs were expert administrators and fighters. The Huitt Tlatawani, an emperor, ruled over them as they established an [music] elaborate social organization.
With a pantheon of gods and complex ceremonies, including human [music] sacrifice, religion was fundamental to Aztec culture. Tenotitlan prospered during the Aztec era. It was home [music] to a big marketplace like Platalco, an impressive central temple complex and a system of canals for transportation. The Aztecs were [music] expert crafts people who were competent in sculpture, metals, and feather work.
Their sophisticated farming methods such as chinampas or raised fields contributed to the population’s continued [music] growth. The appearance of Spanish adventurer Hernand Cortez in 1519 brought about a significant transformation in the destiny of the Aztec Empire. The Spanish horses and weapons originally confused the Aztecs who undervalued the threat. Cortez cleverly [music] took advantage of the rivalry that already existed between the captured tribes [music] and the Aztecs.
He forged partnerships with these communities, most notably the Tlascalins, who were hostile to the [music] Aztecs. In 1521, the Spanish conquered the Aztec [music] Empire following a devastating invasion of Tennoitlan and a string of succeeding events. The Aztec’s lack of [music] immunity to European illnesses like smallpox contributed significantly to their demise. The Aztec Empire came to an end with the Spanish conquest, but Mexico’s lengthy colonial history began.
The Aztecs left a lasting legacy despite their brief rule. Mexican food, their language, natal, [music] and culture are all clearly influenced by them. Similar to the ruins of Tenno Titlan, their architectural wonders never cease to [music] amaze. This whole history is why a wonderful view into an advanced and [music] strong Mesoamerican society can be found in the tale of the Aztecs.
So, the Aztecs knew [music] all about power and strategy. Sure, their dynasty came to an unfortunate end, but their story is one that has been told for centuries. What other strange theories can we find on Oak Island, the Anokeian chamber that holds spiritual secrets?
>> First started to dig at the money pit.
[music] The first thing they came across a couple of feet under the turf was a platform of [music] flat stones.
>> The author, Alan Butler, in a meeting with the Lena brothers and their team brought up the theory of the Anokeian [music] chamber. He said it was all about connecting the dots. When he read the account of how Daniel McInness and his friends first started to dig at the money pit, the first thing they came across a couple of feet under the turf was a platform of flat stones. He said it’s [music] got to do with a particular type of freemasonry which is called the royal arch of Enoch. Time rolled by and along came the children of Israel and King Solomon built the temple. They found the entrance to the Enochian chambers >> and King Solomon builds the temple.
They find the entrance to the Enochian chambers.
>> Some Masonic legends say that the Ark of the Covenant ultimately found its way into the temple. [music] He said that the money pit was a deliberately constructed copy of Solomon’s temple and the chambers [music] of Enoch.
X marked the spot. What the Regina brothers and their team were looking for was another shaft with another chamber.
[music] The other end of the tunnel was at a fixed compass point from the origin. Allan believed that it was more likely that it would be due [music] west. Here’s a deep dive into the Anokian chamber. The Anokian chamber, sometimes referred to as the chamber [music] of the vault or the vault of the adepts, is an important aspect of Western esotericism’s past, especially in the [music] context of occultism and ceremonial magic. Its beginnings are linked to the rise [music] of Enochian magic, a ceremonial magic system credited to the late 16th century [music] English mathematician, astrologer, and occultist John D. and his partner Edward Kelly. John D was a well-educated scholar who advised Queen Elizabeth I and had a keen interest in alchemy, the occult, [music] and cosmic riddles. D started having scrying sessions with Edward Kelly, a medium who professed to be able to converse with angels in the 1580s.
Kelly and D claimed to have received messages from angelic entities during these meetings, teaching them an Ininoian language and magical system. D and Kelly claimed that Inokeian had great mystical power and was the language of the angels. The purpose of the Inokeian chamber, also known as the vault of the adepts, is to serve as a ceremonial area for the practice of in Nokian magic. Alistister Crowley goes into great length about it in his writings. He was a well-known occultist and sacred [music] magician who was instrumental in the resurgence of in Nokian magic in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He had his own occult society where he carried out magical operations. It was called the Hermetic Society of the Golden Dawn. As well as his [music] research into several mystical traditions, Crowley claimed to have obtained instructions for the building and operation of the Enokeian Chamber. Usually built as [music] a tiny room or chamber, the vault of the adepts is square or circular in shape and covered in [music] inscriptions and symbolic images related to Inocian magic. The chamber is meant to function as a holy area where inkian rights, requests, and evocations [music] are performed. Practitioners may hold rituals in the vault to communicate with spiritual beings, pursue enlightenment, or carry out magical [music] tasks meant to bring about spiritual change or material pursuits. It is thought that the chamber’s design and symbolism let practitioners communicate [music] with the powers of the cosmos and higher spiritual realms. The inkian chamber and [music] the inkian magic system are still important in modern ceremonial and obscure magical traditions. By using the rich symbolism and mystical symbolism associated with the Inocian system, followers of different [music] spiritual disciplines could add parts of Inocian magic into their rituals and spiritual practices. The Inkian chambers have a rich history rooted in spirituality and magic. One could see how it might be linked to Oak Island. The next theory on our list is even more fascinating.
Founding fathers and their [music] strange friendship. Louisie Alexander Roshakold was the son of the Duke Yanville and is a very interesting character because of his associations with Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin.
>> This next theory begins with a man called Louie Alexander. He’s an interesting character because of his associations with Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin. There is a possibility that Louie had some secret knowledge about Oak Island because he was close friends with both Thomas Jefferson [music] and Benjamin Franklin.
He told them the secret. This is a very interesting theory because it might mean that the war had some major financial backing and there was an influence in establishing the new country. Rick Lagginina said that if there really is a connection to the American Revolution, it is indeed a national treasure for the United States [music] because it rewrites history. He also said it is a national treasure for Nova Scotia because the mystery was there on the island. Founding fathers Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson are two great men of American history. [music] Despite being a generation apart, their lives and achievements were interconnected. They created a unique alliance that had [music] a major effect on the formation of the United States.
Liberty and Republican principles were values that Franklin and Jefferson both advocated. They supported individual rights, self-governance, and the possibilities of a country founded on these ideals. Their commitment to the American cause was strengthened by their common devotion. The logical Benjamin Franklin secured French backing for the Revolutionary War by using his diplomatic abilities. The Declaration of Independence was written by [music] the idealist Thomas Jefferson. He clearly expressed the colony’s complaints against Britain and their desire for independence. These founding fathers were not limited to one area of study.
Franklin was a brilliant polymath.
[music] He experimented with writing, science, invention, and even diplomacy. He founded a newspaper that influenced [music] public opinion, carried out groundbreaking research, and used his lightning rod to bring electricity [music] to households. Jefferson was another polymath gifted in science and invention, [music] as well as philosophy and building. He was a great admirer of classical architecture.
>> [music] >> He created his own home, Montichello, and had a keen interest in the natural [music] world. Their methods were different even though they had similar objectives.
Franklin preferred pragmatism because he was more experienced and [music] wise.
He supported reasonable compromises and solutions that had observable outcomes.
Philosopher Jefferson [music] placed a strong emphasis on ambitious objectives and an attempt for an even better union.
[music] Even with their different methods, Franklin and Jefferson worked well together. Together, they [music] formed the committee of five that wrote the Declaration of Independence. With Jefferson [music] spearheading the text and Franklin contributing significant revisions, Jefferson praised [music] Franklin’s ability to gain French funding through diplomacy. The United States will always bear the scars of Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson’s friendship [music] and partnership.
Their views on liberty, self-government, and republicanism [music] had a significant role in the founding of a new country and still influence American principles [music] today. So far, all of these theories have their history rooted deeply [music] in the formation of countries and the understanding of new cultures. Let’s take a look at the next one. Zena Halpern’s map and its strange ciphers.
>> I got introduced to this lady in New York who’s been pursuing some Templar research for the last seven or eight years. The lady’s name is Zena Halpern.
>> A researcher in New York named Zena Halpern was looking into some Templar history for the last 7 to 8 years. She found a map dated 1347 and she began to put some of [music] the pieces together.
She said the Templars journeyed to the northeastern part of America dated 1178 to 1180 in a document and they made landfall on the island of Oak. There was a cipher that used the very same symbols that the cipher for a 90 ft stone used.
Zena said the maps and the La Formule cipher were hidden in the back pocket of a book that was given to her several years ago. One of the experts said he was able to decipher some of the words.
The first of them was gray wear which is another term for pottery. The second was gold and the third was the site of the first Portuguese fort and factory on the east coast of Africa in 1505.
The last thing he deciphered was Joab who was a general in King David’s army [music] and spent a lot of time in northern Africa. Zena said it was all interconnected to gold in Africa. In one of the stories, it was mentioned that Joab was pushing the Philistines back and he made it [music] safe for the transport of the ark. Does this suggest that there’s an organization out there that was using the symbols to encode messages [music] that were doing something in Africa and somehow also there on Oak Island. Maps seem to indicate that someone went to the island in 1347.
There was a section towards the left that showed Oak Island with French words identifying places.
This added even more mystery to the map.
Marty Lginina said, “The hand-drawn map is clearly [music] Oak Island, and then there are several things named in French that have been translated for us. One is called the basin, which is translated from French and clearly correlates to the swamp. Also delineated is something called the marsh, which would be the swamp proper. is the reference to what’s called the dam and it points [music] to where Fred Nolan articulated to us last year that there was a log wall.
>> Rick Legina continued by saying that there is a reference to what’s called the dam and it points to where Fred Nolan articulated to us last year that there was a log wall. Marty also said that there was something on the map called the oak [music] enter here. It pointed right about to where the money pit was. He also said that there were two or three things that they didn’t know anything about. One is called the anchors, one is called the valve, and one is called [music] the hatch.
However, Rick Lgina had some personal thoughts about the [music] map and this theory. He said that he wasn’t sure that Zena’s research was going to lead to answers. She had a theory that was uniquely [music] backed up by documentation.
Still, he said that he would regret not following up on the research. It’s no surprise to see how and why the Oak Island remains a mystery. With all of these theories, it’s still hard to figure out which of them could be true and [music] lead to the treasure. Let’s shed more light on the final theory, the star map and its weird history. The Laggina brothers invited a man called Travis Taylor to have Travis Taylor with us today. So, you’ve done some investigative work and you have some stuff to show us. I understand. He did some investigative work and had a possible theory about Oak Island. In the analysis of a chart he showed to the team, a lot of uranium was found very [music] close to the island. He said that the key to that is when uranium decays, a bunch of products get produced in the process [music] and radon is the one specifically. He went on to say that the idea is if you have a void underneath the surface over time, the uranium is going to cause this to fill with radon gas, especially if there’s no ventilation. This would occur in a fluid-filled cavity because radon is soluble in most materials. As Travis did more of his personal [music] research, he came up with his own theory. He noticed that almost everybody who had been involved in the Oak Island investigations was a Freemason. For centuries, the mysterious and deeply symbolic fraternal society known as Freemasonry has piqued the interest of curious people everywhere. Its existence has resulted in different theories and stories. Its history is a fascinating tapestry intertwined with the development of contemporary fraternal societies, intellectual enlightenment, and medieval artisan communities. The Middle Ages saw the formation of stonemason guilds, which is when Freemasonry first began. These talented craftseople created tight-knit communities while building spectacular castles and cathedrals. Their task required a high level of collaboration and knowledge sharing. In addition to extraordinary craftsmanship, these groups probably had their own traditions and rituals [music] that helped to pass on knowledge from one generation to the next and to strengthen the bonds of friendship among these essential constructors. The architecture started to change as the Middle Ages gave way to the Renaissance. The large-scale cathedral construction [music] projects that had supported the societies of stonemasons for generations [music] started to disappear.
These societies faced a special problem as a result of this decline. Still, a few lodges managed to adjust. They started admitting men with illustrious histories and occupations who were not masons as honorary members. These accepted [music] masons or speculative masons as they were called were drawn to the brotherly and philosophical [music] features of the organization but were not involved in its real building.
This change signaled a major change in Freemasonry’s history. Now, symbolic rights and moral lessons were entwined with the practical knowledge and operational skills of the stonemasons.
The compass, square, and level, which are common instruments used by stonemasons, have deeper philosophical meanings and stand for ideas like justice, morality, and truth. This change paved the way for the Freemasonry that [music] exists today. a fraternity dedicated to altruism, brotherly affection, and personal growth.
Uniformity became necessary in the 18th century as Freemasonry became more and more prevalent. The first Grand Lodge was formed in 1717 by the [music] Union of Four Lodges in London, thus creating the Supreme Authority for English [music] Freemasonry. As a result, a more formalized system with clearly defined degrees, levels of membership, and ceremonies was developed. The newly [music] established framework guaranteed a more uniform Freemasonry practice among different lodges.
In the age of enlightenment, the intellectuals and statesmen found great resonance in Freemasonry’s emphasis on brotherhood and enlightened values. It soon swept over Europe, finding favorable conditions in nations like Germany and France.
Across the Atlantic, Freemasonry spread and established itself in the American colonies. It is remarkable that a large number of the American founding fathers such as John Hancock, Benjamin Franklin, and George Washington were Freemasons.
Freemasonry standing in American history was further strengthened by its associations [music] with notable individuals. However, national differences arose as Freemasonry expanded [music] throughout the world.
While some lodges maintained their tough secularism, others added more religious symbolism to their rituals. These differences resulted in the creation of various Freemasonry denominations, [music] each with its own customs and rituals. Millions of people worldwide still actively participate in Freemasonry. Despite its positive contributions, Freemasonry has also come under fire for its secrecy and use of rituals in its ceremonies, which has led to conspiracy theories and rumors [music] about the true nature of the organization. The majority of Masonic rituals are allegorical performances [music] meant to pass on moral lessons and promote a sense of shared experience among members. Further research into the Freemasons [music] made Travis notice Hyram Aabiff’s Freemason drawing template. There were actually meanings on the map that were based on astronomy. At the top, the hand of God is holding a chalice, the Holy Grail or the cup of life. What the Freemasons use as a symbol is as above so below. The way they would draw maps is as above so below. The stars would be their guide on how they created the map if they were going to make one. If you counted the stars on the upper right, there were seven stars. It looked like the Pletes which is a part of Taurus.
Did this mean that astronomy had something to do with the island? Travis overlaid the constellation on the island and he believed that it led to the point where the actual treasure was on the island. After this, Travis, [music] the Lega brothers, and the whole team decided to check the points where the stars were on the map. Upon investigation at three separate places, the team discovered that there were huge boulders located at these points.
>> I don’t see any other large boulders like this around here.
>> Not just sitting there, right?
>> They considered if they were some kind of [music] landmarks or markers. Marty Lagginina said, “Could those stones that we saw be markers that were put there by some human beings a long, long time ago to correspond with the star map?” The answer is of course they could. We need to get corroborative information first of all and then we’ll draw what conclusions we can draw. A common thread in all these theories is the mention of the money pit. What is the money pit?
Let’s talk about it. The money pit and the many deep chambers. A group of young people digging on an island off the coast of Nova Scotia made an amazing discovery during the era of pirates.
They discovered stones and wooden boards with clear indications of human workmanship while excavating.
Particularly at the time when pirates roamed the seas and the idea of finding hidden wealth piqued everyone’s curiosity. This discovery sparked excitement. Their persistent [music] mining attempts turned up numerous planks hiding an unusual mystery. After tirelessly excavating for almost 20 ft, they gave up. Others, on the other hand, accepted the challenge and unexpectedly kept finding strange things and odd platforms every 10 ft or so as they advanced.
They dug 90 ft down into their excavation [music] and found a stone with strange carvings on it. The great surprise was when they discovered a foot tunnel that led to the ocean via a booby [music] trapped pit. This begs the puzzling question, why would someone build a trap to send someone to the bottom of the ocean? What hidden secrets are waiting to be unearthed in the money pit? The events of the Oak Island expedition [music] captured the attention of history buffs who were fascinated by the mysteries of the past.
The Lagginina crew has been eagerly awaiting news regarding the excavation of the money pit region in the hopes of [music] locating the elusive wealth that has captivated people for years.
With every scoop of dirt, everyone held their breath, waiting for the next possible discovery. Despite the money pit’s intricate flood tunnel system, they continued down farther, where they came to a staircase of wooden platforms that were purposefully spaced [music] apart from one another, suggesting that the engineering was done with a specific goal in [music] mind. Brothers had to deal with this complex system of tunnels that were intentionally [music] flooded to prevent anyone from going down into the pit.
They used pumps and modern [music] approaches to battle the water. The money pit 10X initiative ultimately produced the milestone result despite its initial goal of digging into some previously uncharted territory. The brothers made history by breaking through a wooden platform at the 10X level, marking a significant descent into the pits depths that had [music] not been accomplished in more than a century. The brothers found a different kind of Spanish coin [music] in excellent condition. It was made of copper and dated to the 1650s, and they continued to dig further into the money pit. The objects, whose origin and purpose are still unknown, aroused speculation that they might be near the underground chambers containing valuables. The brothers discovered a treasure in the 10X chamber that may provide clues to the island’s past [music] and intended use. The discoveries, which included a wooden chest, an old hammer, and potentially [music] a Templar cross, shocked the archaeological community. Throughout the season, human remains from Europe and the Middle East were found, raising several concerns regarding the island’s previous occupants and [music] their connection to the Money Pit and other anomalies. After the incredible revelations and experiences of the previous season, Rick and Marty [music] Lena once more set out and began the sixth season. With their adrenaline still racing, they had two goals in [music] mind. To probe even more into the money pit, they came to [music] a risky ledge on their quest into the money pit. The 10X level had several wooden platforms [music] and a complex log cribbing system, suggesting that it was designed to allow access [music] to a more elaborate chamber. The drop was quite scary. The brothers avoided the dangerous fall and went directly to the [music] chamber by using a specialized drill rig. Hints were revealed by the recovered core samples, pieces of wood, coconut fibers, and even pieces of leather that suggested [music] the existence of an artificial building. Breaking into the money pit’s hard to get 10 X chamber was the highlight of the seventh and eighth seasons of the curse of Oak Island. It came about after years of negotiating the hazardous caverns while constantly on the lookout for cave-ins. In the end, they succeeded. What do you think about some of the theories?
