O-M-T! American Pickers star Mike Wolfe’s shop slammed for ‘overpriced’ antiques including $315 T-shirt
AMERICAN Pickers star Mike Wolfe’s antique shop has been slammed for its high prices, including on T-shirts.
The reality star owns just one antique store, Antique Archaeology, in LeClaire, Iowa, since his second shop in Nashville, Tennessee, closed in April 2025.

Shoppers previously complained about the store’s prices, claiming they were “three times the normal price,” The U.S. Sun exclusively revealed.
Despite the online uproar, it appears Mike, 61, hasn’t lowered the prices and has since added more expensive merchandise to the website.
Customers again protested on social media that the items’ prices were “outrageous” and raged that many weren’t even antiques.
One item mentioned in particular was a The Rocky Horror Picture Show graphic tee from a Washington, D.C. Mini-Convention in 1993, priced at $315.00.
Several other t-shirts were also priced at well over $100, including a 1977 Frank-N-Furter Rocky Horror Show shirt, which cost $231.00.
Other high-priced items include a Larsen Postcards Collection valued at $222.00 and a Three Feather Turquoise Bracelet valued at $365.00.
Many customers weren’t impressed by the products and said so in the shop’s online reviews.
“To be REALLY honest the Antique Archaeology shop in LeClaire is kind of a tourist trap… But it’s a cool tourist trap if you’re a fan of American Pickers…!” one Yelp user wrote.
“The shop itself (divided between two buildings) is much smaller in person than it appears on TV. There’s a lot more Antique Archaeology swag for sale than actual antiques…”
“I love the show. Would love to have visited the store when it was an actual antique store.
“It is now more of a gift shop. More items to promote the show/store than actual antiques for sale,” another person said on Google.
“Overpriced items, or ‘Not for Sale’ items……mostly self-promoting things are available for purchase….NOT what I expected,” said a third.
“I am not sure who could afford the outrageous prices for these collectable items,” added a fourth.
However, others had a drastically different experience, praising Mike and his antique shop for its unique finds.
“It is a unique experience. We actually saw Mike and helped him carry patio furniture across the street to his AirB&B.
“Mike is just as friendly on person as he is on TV, and so are the people that work there,” a fan shared.
“Really enjoyed my time here! Lots of neat and unusual items to browse through, cute vintage items, and souvenir style shopping if you’re a big fan of the show,” someone else posted.
In June 2023, The U.S. Sun exclusively shared photos from inside the Iowa store, showcasing an array of mugs, beer glasses, shirts, and more.
The pics also captured multiple stands of merchandise, and a seemingly smaller vintage selection.
Mike opened Antique Archeology in LeClaire, which serves as the home of American Pickers, in 2000.
He opened the Nashville location in 2011 but ultimately decided to close the shop to focus on the Iowa location, the online store, and other endeavors.
Meanwhile, American Pickers has struggled to stay afloat with its dangerously low ratings.
The History Channel hasn’t officially canceled the series, but Mike’s co-star, Danielle Colby, announced in December that the show was “done” after 27 seasons.
Mike, Danielle, and Frank Fritz, who died in September 2024, made up the show’s original cast before Mike’s brother, Robbie Wolfe, and Jon “Jersey Jon” Szalay joined in later seasons.
Mike is now gearing up for his new series, History’s Greatest Picks with Mike Wolfe, premiering on Sunday.
