Oak Island Last OFFICIAL Excavaction Date Resulted In A MASSIVE Treasure!!
All right, Tony, that was pretty exciting. Yeah, that was a fantastic dive, buddy. What about that metal detector head? What was it?
So that was a disc, like a coin with a hole in it.
No kidding?
Yeah, initially, I thought it was one of those Chinese style coins. It’s empirical hard evidence. I want to find the answers, and this silent has got to be close to giving up on secrets. From the discovery of a mysterious tunnel that was hidden away underneath one of the most popular treasure hunting spots on Oak Island to the discovery of clues in the form of ancient artifacts, let’s see why Reina says we wouldn’t find anything at the new border.
Heading over to the mysterious treasure hunting spot off the south coast of Nova Scotia, there is only one thing that you’re sure to find there: the Lagina brothers and The Curse of Oak Island crew hard at work searching for treasure.
Then again, this treasure hunting thing isn’t new to the island. The fans of The Curse of Oak Island TV show, as well as other treasure hunting enthusiasts, will tell you for free that this treasure hunting mission has been going on over there at Oak Island for more than 200 years now.
The original Money Pit was described as having found oak timber, so we believe that some of this material is oak, the first time that we’ve ever seen it. And if these are oaks, it’s very interesting. Now that the Lagina brothers have taken the mantle of this treasure hunting mission in this generation, one would find that they have been pushing as much as possible to make that much-needed breakthrough for some time now.
It looked like they were going to surpass their predecessors, especially after they made the discovery of some gold flakes and some ancient artifacts as they were going about their work on the Mysterious Island. This made them believe that they were getting close to a massive discovery.
Mystery number one: no tops and no size of the tunnel. Did somebody remove them? Why did somebody do it intentionally so the thing would collapse? Why were we searching for a great treasure here? I have said many times, the collapse would be an excellent way to hide something.
This feeling of drawing close to their goal of finding this treasure became even more exciting when Rick Lagina made a huge discovery. To some, this was a sign that they were on the verge of making a huge discovery. This occurred when Rick and the rest of the team conducted some drilling exercises in one of the restricted areas on the island. This led to the discovery of some artifacts that the team was able to date back to the 17th and 18th century.
As if that wasn’t exciting enough, these discoveries coincided with the exploration of the connection that existed between the U-shaped structure that was found alongside these artifacts. This ended up being a massive find for the guys on the team because they soon came to believe that this may be linked to a deep pit.
We all know how the guys love a deep pit, especially if it could be linked to the original Money Pit—the pit that began this treasure hunting legend on Oak Island. Surely this pit had the potential to lead them to the treasure that they and so many others had desired for more than 200 years.
Is this the U-shaped year? That’s tons of wood, isn’t it? Unbelievable. Hopefully, this has been changed from some of this more modern year. Well, that’s the tunnel we’re looking for, with tons of timbers. Who knows exactly what’s in it?
Eager to follow this lead, the team went about carrying out some exercises that helped them receive drilling data from the samples. This increased their chances of finding a tunnel on the island that could possibly lead them to the discovery of the mysterious island’s hidden treasure.
As incredible as the potential of such a tunnel might be, it soon became clear that this was huge for the team, especially after they discovered Roman numerals in a U-shaped structure somewhere on the island. All this work soon paid off as the team soon found themselves looking down the mouth of a tunnel that was located about 30 feet east off the garden shaft—another significant spot on the island.
As much as this was a cause for excitement for the team, they soon had more reasons to celebrate. Because after some testing of some of the objects that they picked up in the tunnel, they discovered traces of precious metals in a wood sample.
As encouraging as this must have been for the Lagina brothers and The Curse of Oak Island team, they knew that they still had a mission: to make sure there was a reason for them to go down this tunnel that they came across beneath the garden shaft. Who knows, maybe this could lead to the exploration of other potential targets that existed in the area.
They were already thinking ahead by noticing that further exploration will be possible thanks to the creation of lateral tunnels in the ground.
It must be said that as much as the Lagina brothers and the rest of the team were eager to go, they were still subjected to the whim of the provincial government, as they were still waiting for their permission to explore the tunnels.
While they were waiting for this permission, the team was still hoping that Dumar Contracting Limited—the drilling company that they had hired to help them with all the excavation they needed to do to find this treasure—would be able to extend the garden shaft to a depth of about 98 feet. At least that way, they could finally break into the tunnel below. That way, they could finally figure out if there was a connection to the treasure somewhere down there.
“We’ve invested a lot of time and energy, and I think there’s great anticipation on everyone’s part to try to, well, not only to put eyes on it, but to see where it may lead going forward.”
The team was eager to kick on with their mission, while Alex Lagina, the son of Marty Lagina, and some other members of the team went on to join the others at the original Money Pit area so that they could observe the drilling operation that was taking place there.
Marty and Rick decided to stay back at the lead site as both parts of the team went on with their activities. The crew got hold of the carbon dating report in respect of a wood sample that they had extracted from the boring hole that extended to the tunnel on the eastern side of the garden shaft.
As they took the news in, the team also had time to share the progress that they had made with their B-hole drilling exercise back at the so-called original Money Pit area. Things were looking good so far—they had managed to reach a depth of about 78 feet, 25 feet above their target depth.
As such, it looks like they will keep on digging if nothing interrupts them. That may be the only way that they can extract clues from the items that they’ve been able to obtain from this circular hole that had artifacts that seem to date back to the 1600s and the 1700s.
As you can imagine, while the team may be desperate to discover the treasure that drew them to the island, they could still appreciate the significance of the items that they had just discovered. There were even talks of the military significance of the items that they had just picked up, especially the ones that had a potential link to Devil’s Voyage all the way back in 1764.
Understandably, some of these objects that were discovered in the area were sent back to the lab for further analysis. While this was going on, the Lagina brothers and the rest of the team continued to review the situation as it was occurring with the drilling operation that was taking place in the original Money Pit area.
If the tunnel predates, it makes the tunnel far more interesting than just finding a previously unknown tunnel. During this review, the team was able to consider the opinions of contracting officials so that they could make the advancements they needed to make with their work, while also observing the codes of practice that they needed to respect while they were extending the structure of the tunnels that they were drilling into right now.
However, they were more concerned with two particular codes of practice, most likely because they had been waiting for its issuance for some time now. These were: one related to the deepening of the currently guarded shaft, and the other which allowed for lateral work and tunneling.
Although the team was looking to avoid delays that may impact their progress, they realized that they could take matters into their own hands by simultaneously continuing with the examination of a mystery rock foundation that was discovered sometime in the last year or so.
This place was of utmost significance to the team because they found some artifacts that were dated back to the late 1700s. This included a piece of pottery and a musket that had some Roman numerals marked on it.
As you can imagine, this created questions as to when and where they may have come from. Eager for answers, the items were made to experience non-destructive x-ray radiation. As a result, the team learned that the musket could be linked to an old regiment that must have been stationed on the island many years ago.
That said, the team was still fascinated by the presence of the Roman numerals on the musket. Some would say that this was mostly because of a long-forgotten find that was made close to Smith’s Cove in the 1970s. This came in the form of a ramrod that had similar Roman numerals marked on it.
This made the team make a connection with the U-shaped structure that they had recently come across. Finding the Roman numerals carved on that little bit of ramrod guide brought back memories of, certainly, the U-shaped structure.
“We’ve never found Roman numerals before on any other artifact today, and to have them found here, I think the two are strongly connected.”
In light of such potential prospects and such exciting discoveries, the team was excited about the possibility of coming across this massive tunnel somewhere on Oak Island.
Perhaps the most exciting part of such a discovery could be the fact that they were hoping to discover this tunnel that was made out of an ancient Egyptian tool that is known as a PIX.
That said, the team kept their mind on their mission, especially the efforts to record what they considered to be something of an anomaly that was found in an underground chamber that existed beneath the water. There was hope to make use of a hide camera that came with a 368-degree pan lens. With any luck, this may help the team with their goals of connecting this tunnel to the original shaft.
While they had such potential projects in mind, Rick’s brother and the rest of the team made sure that they didn’t forget their interest in investigating some of the more pressing mysteries that they found on Oak Island.
One of such mysteries: how they were going to make it to the tunnel’s furthest eastern extension. They were hoping that they would reveal a route for water with high metal concentrations. That way, maybe such a route could lead them to a possible chamber or vault that could be the home of the treasure that had eluded so many treasure hunters for so many years.
At this point in time, maybe we’ll find the shallow supposed treasure from this vault area. Wow!
As they consider this, the team also has to consider the fact that there is also a high-density anomaly that exists to the west of the garden shaft. At that point in time, they were more involved with the drilling of their borehole in the garden shaft. This led to the discovery of soft material, which in turn told them that they must be within the proximity of a structure.
Eager to carry on with their investigations, Gary Drton and a colleague continued on with their investigations. This led to the discovery of a cribbing spike as well as an antique coin piece somewhere close to Lot 5.
Wanting to find out if these items had any significance to the search for treasure on the island, the team decided to continue with their search for items and artifacts on that portion of land close to Lot 5. This proved to be a good decision because it led to the discovery of a piece of pottery that could be dated back to 1762. Not only that, they were also able to find a chunk of wood that also showed signs of containing precious metals.
This led some of the members of the team to believe that there must be a different structure in the area.
As much as they’d love to spend as much time as possible carrying on with their drilling and explorations all over the island, the team would soon find that time constraints brought about by the use of heavy machinery meant that the team was going to have to make an outline for the tunnel path as quickly as possible.
That may be the only way that they were going to get to the source of the original Money Pit.
As such, one can see how the team was excitedly waiting for the project, which would carry out the extension of the garden shaft. They figured that for this project to carry on without a hitch, they were going to have to make use of the heavy equipment that they had been hanging on for some time now. This included the use of a crane, which they had to put together before they could make any further progress with their work.
As this was going on, the team decided that they were going to push on with other things. So they went about drilling a new borehole that was located a few feet east of the garden shaft. One would ask why they were drilling so many holes, and the simple answer is that they were hoping to find another segment of the tunnel so they could hopefully find a valuable target for that elusive treasure.
Gosh, who knew treasure hunting was so hard? One would think this would be such a difficult task, but thanks to the state-of-the-art technology that they had at their disposal, the team eagerly anticipated the discovery of such an extension—if not a whole new tunnel in their garden shaft.
All this is being done by the team to find that treasure. If this isn’t available to them, at least they will have some useful information that could aid their effort to finally track the legendary treasure of Oak Island along with the rest of its many mysteries.
Here, we have a target based on the seismic data, but we don’t know what that means. It could be original work—we don’t know, and that’s what we are trying to decipher. It’s exciting. It can’t be just a coincidence.
As a result, the crew came across a tunnel that could give them everything that they had been hoping for. This tunnel was exciting enough already because it contained a wooden beam that was dated back to a period in time that was long before 1795—the year in which Daniel McGinnis came across the circular depression that began this 200-year treasure hunting frenzy on the island.
Even more excitingly for the team, the tunnel also seemed to contain evidence of gold and silver within it. As you can imagine, the Lagina brothers and the rest of the Curse of Oak Island team must have been brimming with excitement when they made such an awesome discovery.
Going forward, there can be no doubt that the Lagina brothers and the team just couldn’t wait to explore the brand new tunnel that they had just discovered in the garden shaft.
As such, you can imagine how thrilled they were as they watched the representatives of the Dumar Contracting Limited team continue to go deeper into the garden shaft so that they could finally gain access to the tunnel that they had just found within it.
What would they do if they actually found the mysterious treasure of Oak Island down there?
The gold sampling of the water and now the wood is probably the thing that might carry the day this year. One means that was the hope—it was always the hope that it would lead to a location where we could do some exploratory drilling or digging and hopefully find the thing.
Well, the excitement didn’t stop the team from continuing with the cautious progress of their work. The first thing would be to continue exploring the tunnel by digging as deeply into it as possible so that they can finally confirm what is truly down there, if anything.
