Spilling the McTea: Life after Season 1 and Steve’s Dating Life
Spilling the McTea: Life after Season 1 and Steve’s Dating Life

I got Jesse and my dad in here finally.
Why does everybody hide from me?
Even my brother Jimmy.
Obviously you and Ally are engaged.
We want to build our brand.
We want exposure.
We want exposure.
Do a 15-person in-ground hot tub with a DJ booth and a disco ball in the basement.
That pretty much summarizes it.
Don’t forget all the flash of LED lights.
I would not be in France of all places.
Always be positive.
Always talk positive about yourself.
Always think positive.
Never say negative words.
Never say negative thoughts.
And life will be good.
Be you.
Don’t be scared to be you.
Move forward with it.
Be positive.
Hey y’all, welcome to Meet the McBees, powered by AgAmerica Media.
Today we’re joined by my brother Jesse and my dad, and we’re going to be talking about life, updates from the farm, what’s been going on since season one of The McBee Dynasty.
We finally have these guys in the podcast room with us.
It’s going to be exciting.

Now let’s get down and dirty with it.
I know y’all have been asking for quite a while now since we launched this podcast about Jesse and my dad coming in here and joining Cole and I.
But today they’re just going to be joining me.
So all you guys know where Cole’s at.
You just can’t disclose that information currently.
Cole happened to up and leave in the middle of harvest for a trip that he deemed vitally important.
Well, he knew it was going to rain and that’s the only reason he left.
He got so lucky because we were in the thick of harvest, combines rolling in the fields, and he was going to take off whether it was 90 degrees and sunny or whether it was rain.
He didn’t even tell Dad where he was going.
No, he didn’t even tell Dad.
Dad called me on Sunday and was like,
“Hey, where’s Cole?”
And I was like,
“He’s upstate.”
But in all fairness to Cole, does that not happen with you as well?
No.
I don’t ever do that.
I usually at least tell someone.
I’m like the last person to ever find out where someone’s gone or even why.
Why does everybody hide from me?
Even my brother Jimmy.
I’m like,
“Where’s Jimmy?”
“Where’s Jim?”
“He’s at the Army this week.”
I’m like,
“What? He didn’t tell me.”
Nobody ever tells me.
Shocker.
Alright, so I guess for this episode we don’t want to dive into anything too serious.
This is the first time you guys have been on the podcast.
For everyone that’s watching, I’m sure they want a life update since season one.
It all comes back to the reality show, which is a big portion of our audience.
Jesse, obviously you and Ally are engaged.
What is going on with y’all’s life now?
We’re just planning the wedding.
Well, she’s planning the wedding.
I’m pretty much just saying yes to anything and everything.
She just started her new job as a nurse practitioner.
Moved hospitals.
Everything’s a little bit closer to our city house, which was a big life update for her.
I tried getting her to move closer to the farm.
She wasn’t having that yet.
Me personally, I’ve been at our St. Joe car wash every day trying to wrap that thing up.
It’s finally on the last two legs of it.
It should be open here in a few weeks.
Are people excited about it?
Yeah.
They’re excited.
People were driving by honking horns.
I don’t know if they were flipping us off or cheering us on.
When I hear horns, I’m just like, “Love you too,” whether it’s good or bad.
We stopped to talk to people.
They were excited.
We did a local news interview talking about how it’s a family-owned business.
The Facebook comments destroyed me.
People saying,
“Why didn’t they save that spot for a family-owned business?”
I’m like,
“We live 45 minutes from here.
If anything qualifies as family-owned, it’s us.”
We are not private equity coming in from Canada.
We are one of the only family-owned operations in the entire Kansas City metro.
Support local.
Support family-owned.
Things have been tough.
We didn’t get the $105 million private equity injection we planned on at the end of season one.
The plan was recapitalization.
Leverage farmland.
Build car washes.
All of our personal names are on every single loan.
That deal fell through.
So what happened next?
Grinding.
Every single day.
There is no overnight success.
There is no winning lottery ticket in business.
A man works by the sweat of his brow.
That rings true.
People think we hit it big on reality TV and now we’re on a beach somewhere.
That couldn’t be further from the truth.
There was no money from the show.
It was a negative cash-flow move.
We did it for brand exposure.
We did it for the farm-to-table mission.
Dumpster fire.
That’s how I’d describe my dating life.
Speaking of dating life…
I’m single.
Living with my dog Gutter at the lodge.
Cooking bacon and eggs for breakfast and dinner.
Life’s good.
Jesse and Ally are good.
No bridezilla issues yet.
I just show up when I’m told.
HOA life though?
Not for me.
I can’t even pee off my back deck anymore.
Trailers in the driveway.
Neighbors asking questions.
Interior design questions.
Yeah… that was me.
15-person hot tub.
DJ booth.
Disco ball.
That pretty much sums it up.
Reddit rumors?
Someone said Dad ran off to Peru and France.
Absolutely not.
I would not be in France of all places.
Always be positive.
Always talk positive.
Always think positive.
I’m not a victim.
I’ll work forward.
That’s how I live my life.
Season two?
We don’t talk about it.
Stay tuned.
We might be in Nashville October 5th and 6th.
Big event.
MCB meats.
Braden is 22.
Single.
6’2”.
200 pounds.
Just saying.
Guys, thanks so much for tuning in.
This was off topic but fun.
Let us know what you want to hear.

We’ll see y’all next time on Meet the McBees.
Thank y’all.
Appreciate you.
