The Curse of Oak Island: Underwater Cave Reveals New Treasure Location!!
90 feet broke through something, wow, you got an open space 90 ft below grade, right? There’s a void down there. Well, you got to affirm whether or not it is a tunnel, and the only way to learn that is to pull the core. Exactly. Matter got us some when they drilled into the Vault, they were able to recover a small piece of parchment. One of the participants noticed this little—it was like a pis little brown ball from the discovery of several ancient TI that could be clues that lead to a sunken ship holding the elusive Treasure of Oak Island or the legendary pit that started the entire treasure hunting frenzy.
To the discovery of man-made structures that told the curse of Oak Island, the team believed there was definitely something hidden on the island. Here’s how the Oak Island crew just got caught hiding evidence of the real treasure on the island. When one hears about the many mysteries of Oak Island, one is immediately drawn to the rumor of hidden treasure on the fascinating island. For more than two centuries now, hundreds, if not thousands, of men had made their way to this mysterious island in the hopes that it would lead them to the vast fortune that is supposed to be hidden somewhere on the island.
However, despite many efforts that have been dedicated to this cause, not to mention the resources that were invested in it as well, we’re sad to say that nobody has come close to unearthing this treasure. The problem with this log structure that we found in Smith’s Sea was simply this: is it a very simple explanation, or is it much more complex, and taking it away from this strange place? Although rumors of treasure have hovered over the island for many years, it seems like this treasure hunting frenzy was triggered when a young man called Daniel McGinnis was making his way across the island all the way back in 1795. Eager to explore his home island, the kid must have been stunned by the discovery of this circular depression that he came across during this adventure on this remote island located on the south coast of NOA.
By the way, we’ve a lot of work to do to try to uncover what it is and why it was put there. Now, some may have simply marveled at what they saw before eventually heading to their pre-planned destination, but not Mr. McGinnis. This was probably because of the many rumors of treasure that he may have heard about while growing up on the island. In fact, one would find that some of these rumors persist till this day, especially as nobody has had the privilege of setting their eyes on it yet. What I always hoped is, he’ll say, “Oh yeah, I saw that before, over here,” and then that’s a piece of data that we can use to correlate these rumors.
Varying in nature, there are those who look to the history of piracy and point to the fact that the island was within one of the most popular areas that these marauders were known to inhabit during the Golden Age of piracy—a period of time that may have been sparked in the mid-1600s before the European powers squashed the activities of these buccaneers back in the earlier years of the 1700s. As such, one could see how a kid like Daniel McGinnis could have thought that maybe these pirates may have buried the treasure on the island many years before he found this circular depression on his home island.
As a result, he recruited a few of his friends to see if they could find the treasure that was rumored to be hidden by legendary pirates such as Captain Kidd or the fabled Blackbeard, the scourge of the sea. Things seemed to be going well when Daniel McGinnis and his friends were digging into the circular depression. By the time they had reached about 10 or so feet into the ground, they found some encouraging clues, which told them that humans must have dug this circular depression. I would love it to be something associated with the Templars because 300 years ago, the Knights Templar rivaled the monarchy and the Vatican for power and influence. Right, and then they’re gone, dismissing thoughts that this may have been a natural phenomenon that occurred on its own. This was especially the case when they came across some coconut fiber while digging into the pit. For those who may not know, coconut fiber isn’t local to this island, and it must have been brought there by those who dug what would eventually be known as the original Money Pit.
As such, one is left to wonder who could have left this treasure on the island. Our attention may be drawn to the likes of Queen Marie Antoinette, the wife and consort of King Louis XVI, the last king of France in a long line of French monarchs. Rumors hint that, as the queen and her family attempted to flee from the angry French peasants and their sharp guillotines, she sought to stash her treasure on Oak Island so that she and her family would remain well off following their quick getaway from the bloody boiling point that was France during the French Revolution.
You know, when you look at it initially, you don’t see it, but when you stand here, especially, I see the forehead, I see the eye, the nose, the mouth. So, was it laying like this, oriented like this? Alas, all that they’d find is a guillotine that was waiting to lob her head off before she could even dream of making her way out of France. Whether the treasure belonged to some savage pirate or some unfortunate queen who couldn’t escape the grasp of her enraged subjects, one would find that it didn’t matter to the McGinnis crew, as long as they found that treasure that was rumored to be hidden somewhere at the bottom of this fascinating pit that they had come across.
As they dug deeper, their minds may have gone to the rumors that this treasure may have actually belonged to another person of note in the history of mankind. This time, we are talking about how the treasure may have belonged to the world-famous William Shakespeare. Our only guess is that works like King Lear, Hamlet, and others may have helped the great bard amass a fortune that was worth stashing away on a remote island far away from Europe. If there’s something, man-made, something underground, that might have significant importance to what the island is trying to tell us, there were even rumors that the legendary playwright also stashed some of his unpublished works with the supposed treasure that he hid on the island. As such, the discovery of this treasure may result in the discovery of not only wealth in terms of coins and precious metals but also magnificent works that may have been penned by this great writer or those that were rumored to have actually written the works attributed to this legendary writer.
However, that is a discussion for another day. What we do know is that, despite making so much progress with The Money Pit, the McGinnis team may have been disappointed by the fact that they had neither the tools nor the manpower to get to the bottom of this massive pit, and as such, they gave up on their dreams of coming away with this treasure. Had they continued, they may have found other clues that drew many others to the island. These others were hoping to build on the progress made by the McGinnis crew, and as such, over the next 229 years, we’ve seen many who have tried and failed to bring this treasure to the limelight.
Now that’s what we’re looking for—finding a survey stake is important because it’s corroborative. Is this really a man-made activity that is associated with the swamp? You know, it’s items like that that may provide answers. Unfortunately, as we alluded to earlier, nobody has earned the right to claim that they found the mysterious Treasure of Oak Island. That said, these treasure hunters have found many other ancient relics and artifacts that prove that there must have been some strange activities that involved treasure on the island. Take the ancient Roman sword that was discovered on the island. How could that have gotten there? Perhaps Julius Caesar and those who took control of the ancient Roman Empire after him found Oak Island—or whatever it was known as back then—may be the perfect place to stash away some of the massive wealth that ancient Rome may have acquired during its heyday as the most powerful empire in the world.
However, one can also point to some clues, like a lead cross or a chipped coin, which tells us that the Knights Templar must have made their way to the island so many years ago as they too were looking for a place to secure their ever-growing fortune. For those who may not know, the Knights Templar was an ancient Christian military organization that protected the interests of Christians during medieval times. We see something that looks square-like, a square-headed bolt, which would clearly be a man-made thing. That’s what we’re looking for. In Aladdin’s cave, we’re looking for some evidence that human beings were inside it.
As the organization grew more powerful, it was able to generate a great fortune thanks to the favor of many of the prominent Christians of that time, including Pope Innocent II. Consequently, one may understand how these people may have made that long trip to Oak Island in order to secure the future of the fortune they made during their 200-year reign of power. If you will, looking at these rumors, one can see how they could not only lead to the treasure that is rumored to be hidden on Oak Island but also how this may lead to a revision of the pages of history. You see, the rumors of either the ancient Roman Empire or the Knights Templar being on the island may disprove the long-established fact that Christopher Columbus and his murderous crew were the first to make it to the Americas.
Sure, the ancient Roman ceremonial sword and the lead cross may be great clues that could be used to rewrite the pages of history, but until we find that treasure and confirm who it belongs to, we may never be able to prove that this treasure belonged to either the ancient Romans or the Knights Templar.
Are we holy? Surely, right? It’s across… oh my gosh, I mean, that is an old, old cross. Then again, there is the fact that there could be several different treasures on the island that belong to several different people. Let’s see whether or not the latest treasure hunters on the island will be able to help us establish the true state of world history.
By the way, the title of the latest treasure hunters on the island goes to the Lagina brothers and The Curse of Oak Island crew. This proved to be the manifestation of the dreams of Rick and Marty Lagina, a pair of brothers from Michigan who had always had a dream of finding treasure. Some may say that this treasure-hunting dream was born when Rick, the older of the pair, came across this boulder back home when they were kids. Eager to see if he could find any treasure in this boulder, he recruited his kid brother and some of their friends in a manner that was easily similar to the way Daniel McGinnis rounded his friends up for their own treasure hunting exercise.
Just like McGinnis, Fred… Here’s the headstone right here. I take it it’s right down the hill. Can we, you and I, go take a look at it? Oh sure. The Lagina brothers and their friends never found any treasure in that boulder. Rather than sulking away in disappointment, this event seemed to have lit a fire in the boys. Going forward, the discovery of the treasure-hunting adventure that many had set off on when they made their way to Oak Island in a Reader’s Digest seemed to help the boys find their path in life. They were going to be the ones to find the treasure that is rumored to be hidden on the island.
And so, Rick and Marty grew up to find their way to the island. For more than a decade now, the pair has been searching the island for the treasure while helping the viewers of The Curse of Oak Island TV series that star and witness how they are also doing their best to unlock the most hidden secrets of this mysterious island. That is why one would find them performing several drilling and excavating operations in many of the places of interest on the island.
On one particular day, we were lucky to come across them as they were engrossed in an operation which involved their draining of the swamp, seeing the void cavity. Your first thought, of course, as you know, is this possibly connected to an offset chamber or previously unknown void cavity tunnel, and might it lead somewhere? This was based on the team’s suspicion that the swamp was a place that deserved a lot of investigation. Rick Lagina himself had always thought that the swamp had such a complex nature and, as such, he was sure that it may have some answers for them. Who knows? They may even find some treasure down there.
Elsewhere, we follow Alex Lagina, the son of Marty Lagina, who’s accompanying Gary Drayton, the team’s metal detecting expert, as he searches for any clues that he can find on the island. Together, along with Jack Begley, the pair is excited when Gary’s metal detector starts to go nuts when they get to an interesting board that they came across during this metal detecting exercise. Considering the ground wasn’t too hard or too deep to dig through, the guys mucked through the dirt with their hands. This proved to produce a great result because, before long, the trio were gawking in awe at this handmade metal spike that they found in the mud.
This was exciting for them, especially Gary Drayton. “So we’re going to put the ting camera down in KL145, I think we’re all hoping to see some evidence that men actually excavated this cave.” This reminded him of a very similar object that he found in one of the Spanish galleons that they came across during their search for this treasure. Having discovered that the ships were dated back to the late 1600s to the early 1700s—the golden age of piracy that we spoke about earlier—the team was both excited by the similarity of the object and the possibility that they may have been the first to find and touch this item in the last three centuries.
What a great find! This takes us back to the machinations of Fred Nolan, one of the previous owners of the island, who also took part in the island’s 229-year treasure hunting frenzy. Following the leads that he could find during his search for this treasure, Nolan came to believe that the triangular-shaped swamp was deliberately put together hundreds of years ago so that those who wanted to could hide a shipwreck that occurred all those years ago. If this was truly the case, then it’s left to us to wonder who could have hidden the ship. Considering the fact that it may have been a ship similar to those Spanish galleons, to see the head and she exposed provides data, but it’s also from a historical perspective.
