The ROV will act as a second set of eyes for the team to help direct Tony toward any additional targets of interest. So, Ken, we run a grid. Going to run a grid? Okay, we’ll just go back and forth from investments in several businesses by our one brother to the other who maintain(ed) life in public service. Here’s why Marti Ainu is 10 times richer than Ricka. As we look onto the tiny little treasure hunting spot off the south coast of Nova Scotia called Oak Island, one would find that there have been many characters that have taken risks to find the treasure that all these people have been looking for during the course of 200 or more years.

That said, not many of these people stand out as much as the Lagina Brothers—the leaders of the current set of treasure hunters that have taken on Oak Island’s treasure hunting mission. In the face of the many adventures that they had set off on, now, while searching for the treasure on this island, other pairs have become more famous than they could have ever imagined, especially after the fact that all they wanted was to fulfill a childhood dream of finding this treasure.

That said, although they have attained fame, one would find that fame will always be a double-edged sword. While they have been able to entertain millions of viewers thanks to their show, the fame has also created a buzz about how much the cast members have made in the course of the show. A special, as the treasure that is rumored to be there hasn’t been found. While some may think that this may be because they hadn’t found the treasure despite spending more than a decade on the island, one would find that the reason for the curiosity is because people had noticed the way Marty seemed to be a lot wealthier than his older brother Ricka.

That said, it takes nothing away from the fact that the Curse of Oak Island TV series has entertained millions of viewers with its captivating content. How many of us, hard away, dreamed of finding treasure on a mysterious island when we were growing up? In the end, the Lagina Brothers brought our fantasies to life as we watched them and their crew take on the mysteries that could be found on the mysterious island while searching for the fortune that is rumored to be buried there.

One would also find that the legend of Oak Island is one that has been part of history for some time now. If one takes a trip back to the late 18th century, one will still find that there was a legend that stated there must be a great treasure hidden on the island. That said, the legend could never categorically state who this treasure may have belonged to or who may have actually hidden this treasure on the island. Some claimed that this treasure could be the booty hidden away by pirates, while others were certain that there must be some sort of historical holy artifact that was buried somewhere on the island.

Maybe that is why there were so many failed attempts to get to the bottom of this treasure hunting mission, as no one is even certain about what this treasure is. Maybe it is also because of the curse that seems to be attached to the treasure. Apparently, another curse on the treasure says that the treasure will never be found—that is, unless seven people lose their lives while searching for this treasure on the island. As far as we know, reports state that only six people have died at this point.

As we may not be able to convince anyone to fall on a sword for the sake of the glory of others, it may seem as though we’re set for another 200 years of this search for treasure. We can all blame a 13-year-old Riina for the continuation of this treasure hunting frenzy that is taking place on our TV screens. While he was still a kid, goofing around in Kingsford, Michigan, he came across the fascinating legend of Oak Island when he came across this January 1965 edition of Reader’s Digest. It told him all about the infamous Money Pit and how it may be linked to the treasure that is rumored to be hidden on the island.

Speaking of the original Money Pit, it only came to the fore when a kid named Daniel McGinnis came across it while exploring the island way back in 1795. Once he came across this circular depression in the ground, he recruited a pair of his friends to help him get to the bottom of it. So far, this pit may have held the treasure that was rumored to be hidden on the island by likes of pirates or the Knights Templar. As they dug into the Earth, they found encouraging signs that they may be digging at the right spot. Every time they hit a depth of about 10 feet, they came across odd platforms. This told them that they may be going down the right path, especially as it seemed to indicate that humans were definitely involved in the digging of this deep pit.

Alas, since it was only the three of them, they had to stop when they realized that they were not equipped enough to get to the bottom of this pit. And this served to be the beginning of the treasure hunting frenzy on Oak Island, because following them, several other parties traveled from various parts of the world so that they could take on the treasure hunting challenge of Oak Island.

While many may wonder why these people decided to risk it all for such a speculative prospect, one may find the answer in this article, which stated that they were convinced to make the journey to this tiny island because they were certain someone had gone through a ton of trouble to bury something on this island. Unless this person was playing the most elaborate prank in the mystery of mankind, they were sure that there was some treasure buried under this island.

Understandably, as a kid, Rick was so captivated by what he just read in Reader’s Digest that he had to tell his younger brother about it. So, once the little brother was infected by the treasure hunting bug, it looked like their lives were set for a life of adventure. Before long, this passion for treasure hunting grew as the boys became men. Once they were able to make their way to the island, the Lagina brothers and their team hopped on that trio to the mysterious island. Since the so-called Fellowship of the Dig made it to the island, they found that they had been able to come across some fascinating discoveries while they were on the island.

Understandably, these captivating feats of the Lagina brothers and their team proved to be one of the most interesting things we can find on TV today. Alas, as captivating as the Curse of Oak Island show may be today, one has to come to terms with the fact that the Lagina brothers and their crew have not found the treasure that is rumored to be hidden on the island.

Consequently, several theories as to the nature of the treasure have been developed by the fans of the show as they try to find an explanation as to why the Lagina brothers have so far proven to be unsuccessful in their quest. One of the most prominent theories seems to be the one that we alluded to earlier—they can’t find the treasure because they do not know what it is or who it belonged to. One of the foremost theories, when it comes to who this treasure belongs to, is the one that links the treasure to Captain Kidd, a 17th-century pirate who sailed the seven seas during the Golden Age of piracy.

One of the reasons why people may have been compelled to believe that it was Captain Kidd’s treasure on the island is because one of the sailors who claimed to be part of Captain Kidd’s crew stated that the captain had buried about $2 million worth of treasure there. Fast forward to the 19th century, a group of treasure hunters unearthed this strange stone, which had weird inscriptions etched on it. What does “48 ft below 2 million liary” mean? As the enthusiasts tried to find the answers to this question, they may have been distracted away by other theories which claim that the Treasure of Oak Island must have been buried by the Knights Templar.

We may all be familiar with the medieval Christian military organization of old, so we may be skeptical about how this set of far Europeans made it to the Americas back in the 10th to 12th centuries—a time that was long before experts claim that Christopher Columbus made his way to the Americas. Well, this doubt didn’t stop those who believe in this story from claiming that the Knights Templar had to make this trip to this little island off the south coast of Nova Scotia because they were desperate for a place to secure massive wealth that they had amassed during their glory days back in the 10th and 12th centuries.

Maybe this is why people claim that the Ark of the Covenant and the Holy Grail may be hidden somewhere on this mysterious island. After all, the Knights Templar may have been the ones in possession of these historical artifacts. That said, we must mention that there are fewer concrete records, if any, that show the Templar may have made that long trip across the Atlantic Ocean just to get to Oak Island.

When one thinks about it, how are we even so sure that they knew that Oak Island was there to begin with? Well, maybe that is why so many others were convinced that the treasure hidden on Oak Island could have belonged to Sir William Shakespeare or his supposed imposter, Francis Bacon. This theory was born in the 19th century because of followers of Francis Bacon. These people claimed that most of Shakespeare’s plays were penned by Francis Bacon, and in order to protect them, Bacon decided to hide the original manuscripts of those great works on this mysterious island.

As much as we may want to dismiss such claims, we cannot ignore clues, such as the mercury that was found during the early expeditions to the island. According to his supporters, Bacon had used this mercury to protect the works he was storing there. The fact that Bacon had some affiliation with the Knights Templar may also support the claim that Bacon may have hidden treasure on this island.

Many other clues have been discovered along the way, and with any luck, not only will they be able to tell us where this treasure belonged to, but it may also be able to tell us where X marked the spot. For example, take a look at the Spanish coin that was discovered when the team drained the swamp found on the island. At the same time, the team also made the discovery of coconut fibers on the island. This discovery was interesting because these coconut fibers were not indigenous to the island, which told them that maybe, just maybe, the owners of this treasure came from the tropical parts of the planet.

Let’s also not forget what could prove to be the most significant find that the team had made while they were on the show. We’re talking about the discovery of a medieval lead cross that was discovered during season 5 of the show. This told the team that the Knights Templar had definitely made their way to the island in some capacity or another.

As significant as this discovery was, it didn’t prevent the team from turning their attention to the fragment of ancient jewelry that housed a 500-year-old garnet stone. Then there was also the discovery of two sets of human bones. This was so interesting for the team that they decided to carry out analysis on the bones. This led to the discovery that one of the sets of bones had Middle Eastern ancestry. As you can imagine, this added more support to the claim that the Knights Templar had something to do with the treasure that was rumored to be hidden on the island.

We also must talk about an ornate brooch with a gem in the center that was discovered on the island. Upon examination, the team discovered that the piece of jewelry was crafted with pure copper and gold. As such, it proved to be the first piece of gold that was discovered by the Lagina brothers on the island. Then there was the heavy iron spike that was discovered on the island. According to the team, the iron spike must have been used when visitors to the island wanted to anchor their ship to the rocks. Further analysis revealed that the iron spike may have dated to a period between 1710 and 1740, considering other dates. The team felt that it may have been used during a French expedition that occurred at that point in time in the 16th century.

Want to hear something shocking? Apparently, the head of this French expedition had links to—you guessed it—the Knights Templar.

Despite so many prospects for finding treasure, one would find that searching for treasure on Oak Island isn’t a walk in the park. One would find that several parts of the island had limited access, if any at all, thanks to the fact that it is privately owned. In effect, the Lagina Brothers had to acquire some of the rights to the island before they could set off on their treasure hunting mission on the island. Thanks to this, the brothers were able to bond with Dan Blankenship, one of the owners of the island, when they tried to acquire the rights to it.

When they sorted this out, they came across some other issues that prevented their treasure hunting dreams on the island. Apparently, just when they had been able to buy half the island, Canada revoked its Treasure Trove Act. This meant that it was prohibited for anyone to look for treasure in Canada. Luckily, this came to an end in 2010 when the Oak Island Treasure Act was passed. Now, they can search for treasure on the island, so long as they get the required licenses.

Furthermore, the Lagina brothers were now aware that if they ever came across any treasure, 90% would go to the Lagina brothers and their partners, while 10% would go to the government. Seems fair enough. Either way, this didn’t mean that the Lagina brothers and their partners didn’t have to make any further investments in the search for this treasure on the island. In fact, it has been revealed that the Lagina brothers have had to invest millions in their dreams to find the treasure that is rumored to be hidden on this island.

Now, one may wonder why one would need millions to search for treasure. Isn’t that counterproductive? Well, one would find that these expenses cover everything from the many excavations that needed to be performed if they were going to find this treasure, the research they needed to do if they were going to search for this treasure in the right place, and the employment of experts that would help them with both of the aforementioned things. Let’s also not forget that the Lagina brothers have invested in these things for more than 10 years now. And as such, it makes sense that their bills are in the millions.

Well, if this doesn’t tell you that they are dedicated to finding the treasure that is rumored to be hidden on this island, we’re not sure what will. Luckily, the team could rely on Marty Lagina, an engineer and the jurist doctor. Marty has been able to develop a highly successful career for himself thanks to his business in energy. He, along with his best friend and former partner, Craig Tester, were able to create Terra Energy, a company that focused on natural gas exploration.

As the CEO of this company, Marty was on the ground advancing the natural gas industry in their home state of Michigan, which in turn made Terra Energy one of the biggest companies in the energy industry that could boast a portfolio worth about $3 billion during the 1990s. Considering this level of success, it must have been difficult for Marty and Craig to sell the company back in 1995 for almost $60 million.

Ever the busy man, Marty used the proceeds of this sale to invest in real estate before returning to the energy business by establishing Heritage Sustainable Energy in 2004. For Marty, this was to fulfill his goal of bringing renewable energy to the entire country. So far, they have been able to achieve this dream by installing windmills that bring clean energy to many homes across the country.

Dissatisfied with this level of success, Marty also decided to invest in the wine business by establishing Mari Vineyards. This was done so that he could sell 100% estate wines, thanks to the inspiration he received from his Italian grandmother, Theresa Mary. The winery was even named after her.

If anything, one can see how Marty is driven to make the most out of the opportunities he has been given. Thankfully, he used his wealth to invest in his and his brother’s dream to find the treasure that is rumored to be hidden on the island.

That said, the search for treasure on Oak Island did not stop Marty’s business aspirations. While there, he also invested in Oak Island Tours Incorporated, a company that has taken it upon themselves to give tours to those who wanted to have a first-hand experience of the treasure hunting island for themselves.

Considering this, one can see how it may be difficult to correctly assess Marty Lagina’s net worth. If we could be allowed to make an estimation, it is believed that he may be worth about $60 million to $100 million.

Then there is big brother Rick Lagina. Unlike his kid brother, he isn’t a successful businessman. In fact, one would find that he is also very private when it comes to his personal affairs. All that we know about him before he became a star of the Curse of Oak Island TV show is that he used to work for the US Postal Service.

As such, one can see how he must have been so excited when he finally set off on
