Hey everyone, welcome to the Freeman Files. Tom and Jeff here with you, and we’ve got a little bit of news that we’re going to share with you here today.

Tom, how you doing? Looks like you’ve been out fishing.

I’ve been at the camp. Been all over the place. But anyway, we’re back for this because this is important speculation.

Yes. Yes, it is very important speculation. So, we’ll get started with that.

Some of us—not some—not speculation. Some of it’s not speculation.

That’s true. That’s very true. Uh, we’re going to try to put something together for you folks and give you a little bit of information. Some of this you may already know, uh, and some of it you may not.

Also, I’m testing out this, uh, internet connection down here. I’m in Florida right now, and uh, yeah, I don’t have the best internet connection down here. So, we’ll see how this goes. Hopefully, it’ll work out all right for you. But, thank you for joining us here today.

One thing that we’ve got to talk about a little bit is, I, you know, looking at some of the pictures—and thank you very much to Karen Publicico from Oak Island, from the other side of the causeway, uh, Facebook group page that she has. Karen has allowed us to share some of the pictures that she takes of vehicles and whatnot going across the causeway and things that she sees.

So, thank you very much to Karen for this. We have some of the pictures that she has shared. She shares these on hers and on her group page, and also she lets us share them on our Facebook group page as well.

Let’s get started with these. I’m going to go ahead and pop up a couple of them. Some interesting pieces of equipment heading across the causeway.

This is one of them here. Um, this is like a crane base—the basic parts to a crane, I would say, Tom.

Yep. That’s your motor and your drivetrain.

Yeah. Your track.

Yep. Yep. Going across.

Uh, there’s another shot of it there. And this was, obviously—you see the date there, from July 8th, 2025. So, not that long ago.

Um, and here is another piece to it. This looks like the actual crane part—the tower itself.

That’s the tower.

Yep. That’s actual drill rig tower, I think.

Yeah. And it’s not something that we have seen crossing the causeway before. Not this particular type of unit.

No. This is new. This is new.

Yeah.

Um, and then there’s another picture of it here. This is it standing up. And, uh, I’m not going to say working—it looks like they got it pretty close to, uh, working.

And this was, of course, on the far—this would be the northwestern side of the Money Pit area, right over by the trees there.

Yeah. Back where you usually see the storage trailers and things.

Yeah. Everything over on the far side of the Money Pit area.

Um, here’s another shot of it. You can see a little bit closer, but you can see some bits and pieces of this. We got a little bit more information that we’re going to share with you here about this particular unit.

Um, Tom has done a little bit of research on it. Here’s some here. What do you got for us, Tom?

Well, Linda was able to determine that this is what’s called an LB11. I forget the exact name of the company that manufactures them or has them, but it’s an actual drill rig, and it does more than what we would see the Choice guys do. Choice are doing, like, I don’t know, six- or eight-inch bore holes, where they’re bringing up samples with the Sonic rig.

Yep. Right.

From what I can tell, this is an actual drill rig.

Okay. So, it’s going to drill down through something. It’s not going to bring up core samples.

I found another picture earlier today that actually shows that it has a protective casing, like a well casing that’ll go down around it. And these casings can be literally feet wide.

Yeah.

So, I mean, my speculation—these guys have found something that they need to drill a hole to, that they don’t necessarily need all the bigness of a full-size six- or seven-foot casing on, but there’s something they want to drill to.

Yeah. They need a big enough hole to put something down other than a camera.

Yep. Yes.

And looking at this picture here—and this is not—we haven’t seen the casings, at least I haven’t—and now there’s a lot of equipment that has crossed the causeway that Karen has not been able to capture for us just yet.

Um, but, you know, we haven’t been able to see if there are these casings or casing on. Yeah. This is strictly speculation on our part. I have no idea if this is what their intention is or not. This is just what I’m finding out about this particular model of machine, this LB45.

So, whether that’s their plan or not, I don’t know. But I think it’s pretty safe to say that this is not for just drilling core samples. They need to get someplace significant.

And I think one of those places might be down the Queson they left behind. Remember that plateau that they hit, and they say that the Queson was left resting on the plateau of stone?

Yes. Maybe that’s the piece of stone they need to drill through.

I’m thinking it might be to get down into that solution channel without dumping a bunch more backfill and everything else down there—that’s going to create it by creating a monster hole with a grab hammer and a casing.

Yeah, exactly. That drill is going to pull stuff up.

Yeah, exactly. Correct. Yeah, it’s going to pull stuff up.

And, you know, we’ve seen smaller versions of—I’ve anyway seen smaller versions of something like this working, excuse me, out at Skinwalker Ranch and elsewhere. What it does is they go down and dig, and then they’ll bring up the rig.

Now, I, I’m, I’m again speculating a little bit here, folks, because I haven’t seen this particular one operating, but it goes down and it digs, and then it’ll come up, and then it’ll kind of spin, and all the spoils will spin off from it. Puts it back down the hole, digs some more, brings it up, spins and gets the spoils off as they go.

But it’s not designed, like Tom had said, to bring up a core sample that they put in the bags and cut open on the table. This is a completely different type of unit.

And so, if they end up bringing these casings out there, then yes, I would think that they’re going to drive these casings down. They’ll be able to, once they get the hole drilled to their depth, if they hit to avoid or whatever, then they’ll be able to put other machinery—ROV maybe—down it.

I think they have to use the casing. And this is just an uneducated me talking. I think they have to, because the Money Pit’s been like, what Vanessa called—Swiss cheese. It’s been Swiss cheesed. There’s no support down there for anything.

So, if you were going to drill through virgin ground with this LB45, I’d say yeah, there’s a good chance that the earth is going to stay compact around it. It’s in situ, may or may not collapse. But with the Money Pit being chewed up the way it is, I don’t see any alternative. You got to use a casing.

Yeah, I agree. Unless they’re going right down the middle of that last casing they left in there that’s empty anyway.

Yeah. And they could. It very well could be. We know that casing is about 4 feet off the ground, somewhere around 3 to 4 feet above ground level.

They could simply go over and go right inside of it and start drilling. So, that’s a possibility.

How deep can this go? We simply don’t know just yet, but we’re going to try to get more information for you on that. It will go deeper than the Sonic rig.

Oh, well, that’ll go hundreds of feet.

There you go. That’s what we need it to do. It will literally go hundreds of feet. Awesome. That’s great news. So yeah, this is going to be good—good to see working out there.

Once they get this thing operating, as we saw in the picture, it is currently sitting off to the northwest side of the Money Pit.

Obviously, it’s not in position because I don’t think they’re going to be drilling over there. That’s just a parking spot.

Exactly. And then, once they get it over to where they had a portable crane there the same time this stuff was arriving—or I shouldn’t say portable, mobile crane, you know, one of the ones on six wheels or eight rubber wheels, whatever—they just brought that over to put this thing together.

Yeah. And then it was gone the next day or the day after.

So, they both arrived about the same time. So yes, they did. It was off to the side right now because they haven’t decided where they’re going to use it, or the crew wasn’t there to use it, or maybe the casings aren’t there yet. Could be any number of reasons.

Yeah, exactly.

So, there was a little bit more—some pieces of things going across. There was this here that made it. I’m not exactly sure. It almost looks like a version of an oscillator, but I don’t know that for sure.

We’re not exactly sure what this is. A lot of hydraulics on it.

Absolutely. Lots of hydraulics on it.

So, it almost looks like some sort of an oscillator to me in a way—a small version, but we see all the hydraulics that are on the Choice Sonic drill.

Yep. Everybody’s always standing, and he’s surrounded by hydraulics. So those could be the hydraulics of the drill rig.

Yeah. And the Choice team is there. They’ve been there working, and they were drilling down alongside of that Queson that was left in the ground.

Do you remember the number on that?

I’m trying to… No, I can’t.

Yeah, mine too. Trying to think of the name of that casing—the last casing that they put in at the end of season 12, that’s still in the ground. They were drilling right there. Very, very close to it. T3 or something—or I forget.

Yeah. So, we’ll see. But they’re definitely working that area.

And remember what Marty had said during that one session—war room session toward the end of the season—he said, “We now have an X marks the spot in the Money Pit.”

Now, what did that mean? We don’t know exactly what he meant by that, other than the fact that he figures they now have an X marks the spot.

Is that the casing that they left in the ground? Could very well be. We hope so. But we’ll see.

Now, this was another piece that came across on the same day—July 8th. And it does look like, I don’t believe that’s a casing. I believe that’s part of the drill itself.

Yeah, I was trying to figure out what that was. I almost thought it was a lamp post for the parking lot. I have no idea.

They’re building a great big new parking lot over there, right?

Yes, they are. We’re going to get to that here in just a second. So, we got to move along. I don’t want this to go too long here.

This was the one that Tom had just mentioned. Went across, was there helping set things up, and then left. It was only there for a very short period of time. Part of an airlift system, maybe.

I saw somebody else had said—go ahead, Tom, while I’m looking for this.

No, I mean, it could be. My first reaction was, when I saw it, I didn’t see anything mechanical on the outside of it. I didn’t see any place for stuff to move up and down the center of the shaft. All I saw was that eyehole attachment at the top, what I’m presuming is the top, which to me would be for a light standard.

Yep. I have no idea. Yeah, that’s the question right there. Or the statement. This is a statement being made. This is the equipment to do the honeycomb shafts for access to the bedrock and deep channel.

I mean, Mike, if you know that for sure, great. I do not know that for sure, but if you do, that’s awesome information.

So, yeah, as good as ours at this point.

Yeah. They might be using that rig for putting concrete down holes for ground stability. That’s a good speculation. Why not?

Now, you remember what Vanessa said? Could she do the honeycomb thing?

Yes, she could. Maybe she’ll be back. I don’t know. She might be back this season.

Also, she told me they could put a shaft down the middle of 10X.

Wouldn’t we love to see that happen?

I know. I would. Yeah, for sure.

Okay, the next topic. When we get more information, folks, Tom and I are going to jump on here. If we can get Tom off the lake when he’s fishing and out at camp, we’ll see what we can do. We’ll try to keep you updated when we get more information.

Now, one of the other things I wanted to bring on this was that we have our man on the spot—our secret agent that goes out in his boat and does a little bit of surveying for us with his camera work. He goes around. I wanted to show a little bit about this here. Let’s see if I can bring these up.

Bear with me just a moment while I get this together.

Okay, now this is Colin Jameson. He goes out in his boat and he does a little recon for us. We appreciate Colin very much. I was going to try to get him on here with us, but unfortunately the poor guy has to work. He does work.

Yeah. He has to work for a living still. Unlike me, who’s headed for the camp.

Yeah. So, let me get this rigged up real quick and we’ll… Let’s see, get this stop screen. Okay, bear with me, folks. Sorry about that.

I’m going to share. And here we go.

All right. Now, these are from our Facebook group page. And again, this is Colin Jameson, from his boat. Now, he’s looking at that rig right here at the Money Pit. I’ve got a couple of these to share with you. He’s talking here, so we’re going to be quiet and hopefully you can hear this.

Little morning from Oak Island. Saturday morning. It’s a nice one. Doing some coffee run in Chester Village. Some coffee and treats, and a little recon mission.

See, they got some brand-new equipment put in—a drill rig of some type sitting up in the Money Pit area—and the old Choice drilling rig that’s been up there for the last month or so.

Take a look around. Not a lot of activity going on in the swamp. There was a black SUV that was just here. I just missed them. Not sure who it was. Couple of guys on the island working, chainsaw—you can hear up on the other side of the Money Pit, chainsaws going.

So, they’re doing some cleanup work or doing some more checking out areas. I’m going to check out Smith’s Cove in a second.

All right. So, that’s one of them there. Let me get the next one rigged up because he had a couple that were really interesting.

Okay, here is over at Smith’s Cove. Let’s play this one really quick.

Over in Smith’s Cove, you see a couple of the boys working away. All the big stone clearing equipment is that big pile of stone right there. New slingers and stuff they had last year, not…

Yeah, there’s still quite a pile right behind the hopper, too. Moving some material around. See, other than that, in Smith’s Cove and here in Isaac’s Point, it’s pretty clear.

[Music] Take a scoot around the other side of the island and see if they’re doing any work on the archaeological dig sites there. Back in a sec.

All right. And we’ll get this one here, too. Bear with me a moment while I bring that up.

All right. And see, is that it? No. That’s not there. Okay, here we go. I got it here now.

There we go. It’ll pass through over in lot four and five. We’re going to see all the people who just passed by. There’s Tony St. on that boat. Seems to be some fresh stuff dug up in there. Not sure if you can see it as well in the video as I can in person. Some covered-up spots where they’ve probably been working during the week.

They have everything covered up. They’re not here, I’m assuming. Just keep the weather and stuff away right there.

I’m going to back that up just for a second because there’s a part of this I wanted to show, right in there.

Okay, folks. This is right in here in this area, this open large area. That’s where the lot five dig is happening. That was the circular feature, which has now become the foundation of maybe more than one building.

We’re still trying to figure out exactly what that is.

What do you think, Tom? There’s going to be more work going on there for sure. As of last winter, they had still not given lot five a definitive use. They know it’s been used multigenerationally, but they can’t nail down who used it when. That’s the big mystery.

Yeah. So hopefully we’ll be getting some more information on that as they go.

Also, I wanted to mention real quick, we have the Oak Island Con happening this year. Oak Island Con 2025 is going to be happening.

We’re going to be doing that—totally blew the dates last time. September 23rd and 24th. You can get information at saltydogtours.com, Tony Samson’s website.

You can also get information at my website, jfre906.com. There are still a couple of tickets left that can be purchased.

Leairard and his team are going to be speaking in a roundtable on the first night. We’ve got Ian Spooner, Matt Lukeman, Ken Dbor, Mr. Oak Island himself, Danny Hener, going to be there. You never know who may pop in during this.

We have a meet and greet going on the first night. Everybody on the island knows about it, they’re all working with us.

So, you never know who may pop in. It’s going to be a great time. Salty Dog Sea Tours involved.

We should be done and open by then. And this is very exciting—Oak Island tours are going to be happening.

Here’s a picture of trams going across the causeway. They’re going to start very soon, still working out last-minute logistics—parking, insurance, and timing.

It makes sense—safety, inclement weather, emergencies. You can load people on the tram and get them out quickly.

There will be tour guides, new people, providing information while you ride the tram, covering Money Pit, 10X, Smith’s Cove, etc.

Tickets through oakislandlegend.com. Sign up for the newsletter at oakisland.com for updates.

The island is almost a mile long, so the tram helps visitors get to key points faster and safely.

Filming is ongoing, but whether there will be a Season 13 is unknown.

Oak Island Treasure Shop—there will be one on the island as an annex of the Route Three location. Very nice merchandise.

One quick thing, Tom was showing a spoils pile, leftover from last year. They haven’t gone through all the spoils yet.

That’s what I had for you today. Tom, anything else?

Three words: Drill, baby, drill.

So, they’re going to get going with that.

Hey guys, thank you for tuning in. This will be out on YouTube forever, and you can check it anytime. As soon as we get more information, we’ll bring it to you right away about what’s happening on Oak Island for Season 13.

Drill, baby, drill! Make sure you subscribe and hit the notification bell. Oak Island Tours coming very, very soon.

All right, folks. That’s it for us. We’ll catch you next time right here at the Freeman Files. Bye-bye.
