Captain Jason Reveals How His Daughter Feels About Him on Below Deck Down Under (EXCLUSIVE)
Captain Jason Reveals How His Daughter Feels About Him on Below Deck Down Under (EXCLUSIVE)
When Captain Jason Chambers’ daughter, Saskia, watched Below Deck Down Under for the first time, her initial reaction had nothing to do with the onscreen relationship drama or chaotic charters.
As Captain Jason revealed in an exclusive interview with The Daily Dish, he and his “sassy” daughter had been visiting his parents’ home when a rerun from the show’s inaugural season came on TV. Though he told Saskia that she’d “better not watch,” because she was “too young,” the 11-year-old insisted that she was “fine.”
“She started watching it for five minutes, and she goes, ‘No, turn it off,'” Captain Jason recalled. “I said, ‘I told you.’ She goes, ‘No, your teeth are really bad. … They’re good now since you’ve had Invisalign.”
He joked, “She has got a bit of character, bit of sass,” adding that Saskia has begun really leaning into her “Australian sarcasm” amid “a lot of changes” in her life since turning 11.
Captain Jason Chambers revealed his hopes for his daughter’s future

Captain Jason also mentioned his daughter, following a heart-to-heart with deckhand Betul Yazici during Season 4, Episode 4, of Below Deck Down Under.
The Turkish-born yachtie had asked him to chat before opening up about her difficulties understanding some of her crewmates, due to both their varying accents and English not being her first language. What’s more, she tearfully shared details of the dynamics with her estranged family, including her parents, whom she said always told her she was “not smart enough,” thus leaving her feeling very much on her own.
Betul’s candor apparently hit close to home for Jason.
“I’m getting emotional thinking about it, because I have got a daughter and I know that when my daughter grows up, whatever direction she takes, she’s always gonna have a home, no matter what choices she makes, wrong or right,” he explained in a confessional. “So, if we can support Betul here and give her a home while she’s here, we’ll do that.”
What to Know About Below Deck Down Under Season 4
All aboard! Below Deck Down Under Season 4 has left the dock, with new episodes airing Mondays at 8/7c on Bravo and streaming the next day on Peacock.
Captain Jason Chambers is back at the helm, along with some very familiar faces from around the Below Deck universe, including Ben Robinson, Daisy Kelliher, and João Franco. They will be joined by Alesia Harris, Joe Caron, Jenna Woudberg, Mike Durrant, Eddy Hounsell, and Betul Yazici.
The crew finds itself on rocky waters, as the season kicks off with a historic crossover charter featuring The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 6 cast aboard M/Y Katina. As the yachties continue to set sail through Canouan in the Caribbean, they face crew drama, steamy hookups, and charter guest issues.

Inside Captain Jason Chambers’ bond with his daughter, Saskia

As Captain Jason also noted to The Daily Dish, “island girl” Saskia seems to be growing up right before his eyes and has been becoming much more independent.
“I know that my daughter’s at that age where she’s starting to understand,” the single dad elaborated. “You know, she doesn’t whine when I’m away; she prefers to go into shops by herself.”
Jason, meanwhile, has been busy preserving some of their father-daughter activities on social media. In January 2026, for example, he posted an Instagram Reel showing him cooking and plating up the meal that he’d prepared for them at their home in Bali, Indonesia.

“Last night’s dinner was pasta, and I thought I did alright… even with a tough critic in the house,” he joked in the caption. “My final score: 6.7/10. I’ll take it.”
The same month, Jason posted another video of himself spending quality time and being silly with his girl, whom he co-parents with an ex that he met while they worked together on a yacht.
“She’s growing up fast, and I’m aware enough to know that things change quicker than you expect,” he captioned the post, in part. “So when moments like this show up, I try to enjoy them for exactly what they are and as present as I can. Feels like we’re doing alright so far.”
