Below Deck Down Under Clip: Daisy Kelliher and João Franco Get Honest About Being 'More Than Friends' (Exclusive)
Things could be full steam ahead for two Below Deck Down Under standouts.
In PEOPLE’s exclusive clip from the Bravo series’ new episode, chief stewardess Daisy Kelliher and second officer João Franco step aside for a serious chat about where things stand — with their boatmance on full display.
The footage finds João, 36, revealing his true feelings to Daisy, 38, while going out for a drink — and the sparks are certainly there. “So friend, at the end of this, what?” João asks, when Daisy proposes the big question: “Where do you think we stand?”
João then confirms that they’re “more than friends” and reassures her that he likes “the cuddles, all while touching her leg during their couch-side discussion.
“My only ask is that how you are with me, you are consistently,” he says. “In the morning, it’s like, nothing happened.”
Daisy then tells João that his view on things is “fair,” as she tries to explain why she’s been so “hot and cold” with him. “I have a lot of walls up,” she says. “And those walls are completely warranted. This is not easy for me. I’ve had 700 boat romances that don’t end well. I am just having my own inner conflict.”
João says he gets where she’s coming from and reveals what he’s fearful of when it comes to their future together. “At the end of the day, I’m more so scared of losing whatever we have,” he tells her.
After cracking a smile, Daisy tells João she “really” likes him. “Even if I’m cold, I love how affectionate you are with me, I do. It’s sweet and it’s endearing. I’m glad you invited me for a drink.”
With a bit of hand-holding going on during the discussion, Daisy delivers a final request: “You get the bill,” she jokes.

The pair’s connection has been brewing on season 4 of Below Deck Down Under. João previously admitted to having his “fair share” of experiences with chief stews, but with Daisy, he said they “work on the same principles of how we can work hard and play hard.”
During a November episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Daisy chuckled when asked about her impression of João and her first time working alongside him.
“I was nervous,” she admitted. “I had watched his seasons, I was nervous. I didn’t know who was coming onto the season. I saw João and Ben [Robinson] and I was like, ‘Oh, here we go.'”
“But we have a great relationship. I loved our season,” she said. “We worked well as a team.”
Daisy has been on Down Under since season 4 launched in February, while João — who gained recognition on Below Deck Mediterranean season 3 — first appeared in Down Under‘s second season before now appearing in season 4.
New episodes of Below Deck Down Under air Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
