The actor shared that couple are currently separated because of how “intense” their relationship had gotten due to Fraser’s health problems.
Matt discussed the split with his co-host Bowen Yang and Girls creator Lena Dunham on Wednesday’s episode of the podcast.
The actor said Fraser’s addiction to vaping cause a massive health scare just three months into their relationship.
The incident took place during BravoCon in November, as the Below Deck revealed he had to skip the third and final day because his “heart and lungs are having a bit of a meltdown.”

Matt and Fraser caused a stir at the event when they posed for a photo together on the red carpet, confirming their relationship.
“As that was happening, and I know this is going to sounds dramatic, he had a heart attack in front of me,” Matt said.
“It’s not dramatic. It’s traumatic, is what it is,” Lena added.
Lena spoke to Matt and Bowen to promote her memoir Famesick, which deals with her chronic illness.

She also shared that she had to quit vaping because of Fraser’s story.
Matt said that the reality star’s health issues “accelerated” their relationship – which ultimately made them decide to take a step back.
“I’m thinking, is it stress and anxiety? We find out much later, after tests come in, that essentially because of this poison that got in his lungs, he had what the equivalent was of a heart attack,” Matt said.
“We were already like really enjoying being together, then there was this health stuff that entered, and so that accelerated things.”
The comedian added that they’re taking time apart while Fraser films Below Deck, which follows deckhands on luxury yachts.
“We kind of did just like take a little bit of space just because of how intense everything had gotten, personal things,” he said.
Matt added that the pair are still talking and might get back together – they were spotted posting together on Instagram the same day the podcast episode dropped.
