Captain Jason Chambers Makes a Damning Declaration on Chef Ben and Ellie: “Unacceptable”
After a demanding and chaotic first charter with The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 6 cast, Captain Jason Chambers and his Below Deck Down Under Season 4 crew prepared for a much smoother second charter. However, his plans are derailed before they even leave the dock in Canouan amid a huge miscommunication with the galley, in the above first look at Episode 4, airing Monday, Feb. 23 at 8/7c.
As Jason gives the order on the radio for all crew to get dressed in their whites and prepare to greet the guests, head chef Ben Robinson and new galley hand Elena “Ellie” Dubaich keep chatting away as they get to know each other. “We have time,” Ben remarks.
But as cameras capture the guests approaching M/Y Katina, Ben and Ellie are still talking, and Jason can be heard ordering, “All crew in the main salon for Charter 2” on the radios in the galley.
“Hurry up and get up here. I don’t want anyone late today,” Jason says to the other crew members as they assemble in the salon.
But with Ellie and Ben still missing, Jason once again says on the radio, “Galley, galley, main saloon!”
Ellie points out to Ben, “They’re on the radio, we might need to go.” From there, cameras catch Ben hurriedly putting his white uniform on in his room, as Jason urges on the radio, “Galley, let’s go!”
As the guests arrive at the dock, no one is waiting to greet them. “Is someone coming?” the primary guest asks confused.
In the meantime, Jason says to the rest of the crew, “I’m gonna go out there. I can’t stay here.” When he notices the guest arrival, he mutters, “F—k, they’re already here.”
As Jason and the rest of the crew leave to greet the guests, Ellie is seen on camera running out of her room, uttering, “My skirt doesn’t fit!”
Jason makes clear in his confessional interview with producers how angry he is at the situation. “We need to start the charter together as a team. Front and center. Ready to go. This is unacceptable.”

Who is new Below Deck Down Under Season 4 crew member Ellie Dubaich?
You might recognize new crew member Ellie from her time as a stew on Below Deck Mediterranean Seasons 7 and 9. She was hired to assist Ben in the galley on BDDU Season 4 after Jason decided to move sous chef Alesia Harris into a new role as stew.
“At the airport, Captain Jason asked me if I would like to work in the galley,” Ellie explains in a preview for Season 4, Episode 4. “At first, I thought ‘No way!’ Like I don’t know how to contribute to the galley at all. But, I realized that this is all the way up my alley. There’s nothing I love more than finding a challenge and then conquering it. And cooking has been a skill I’ve always wanted to have.”
Ben admits there’s some confusion over her title, as she has no chef experience. “I don’t like the term galley hand, so I think the term chef assistant,” he declares.
The Slovenia native has 8 years of experience in the yachting industry, according to her BravoTV.com bio, and has many other special skills. “I’m a massage therapist, personal trainer, and yoga instructor. I love teaching guided meditations (Yoga Nidra),” her bio reads.

How do Ben and Ellie know each other on Below Deck Down Under Season 4?
ICYMI, Ben and Ellie had a previous interaction before she ever set foot on M/Y Katina. Ben revealed during the Feb. 16 episode he’d once met Ellie at a party, and then later messaged her to “come for a drink” before the charter season.
“Ben slid into my DMs one time,” Ellie adds in a preview for Season 4, Episode 4. “He said he was a big fan of my pictures.”
Ben admitted on the Below Deck Down Under After Show the exchange made things embarrassing when they first met in the galley. “It was slightly awkward,” he admitted. “But, she handled it well.”
Ellie was happy she was home in Slovenia at the time of the message and never ended up meeting up with Ben.
“It would be really awkward if I ended up working for him after we had hooked up in any way. So, I’m glad that did not happen,” she says in the first look.
